  1. Feeling great overall but....

Hi All, It has been an amazing journey with the sleeve. I cant believe I have lost over 50 lbs and in a few short weeks I will be 8 months post-op. I feel great overall but I noticed last month my tail bone started to hurt. I cant explain why but if I sit a certain way it throbs and is uncomfortable. I am not sitting around all day but would like to know if anyone has experienced this that is almost 8 months out or longer. Also a new pain entered my life this morning I have a sharp pain in my right shoulder and it hurts when I swallow. I don't know why this started today but I really need this pain to go away in my shoulder and throat. I felt good yesterday so I don't know if I slept wrong, if its gas related or something more serious. Please share if anyone has experienced achy tailbone, pain when swallowing, and shoulder pain. Thanks Be Blessed TD41
  2. Hi
I have a question. I am curious if any one crush their multivitamins and probiotic pills from bariatric advantage.... I try to chew 2 vitamins in the morning per instruction and always feel like i want to vomit when i start chewing and swallowing. I am not sure why i feel sooo nauseus when i take the vitamins. I have been sleeved since Dec 28 i havent vomited not once since i left hospital. Just curious if i will recieve same benefit crushin the pills as oppose to chewing and feeling sick every morning before i go to work.... Any advice would be great or if anyone are using these vitamins please share your experience. Thanks

  6. PROTEIN BARS

    Hi all,
Just curious im two months post-op I have lost 31 lbs(yaY) My question is if anyone use protein bars as one of their meals or mainly as a snack??? I really want to stick to just 3 meals a day but not sure if i should use the protein bar/drink as a meal I am having a hard time getting my 60-80 grms of protein daily thru regular food so im curious if i should use a protein bar/drink as a meal. I visited gnc today and purchase quest protein bars and isopure drinks. quest bars gives 20 grams of protein per bar and isopure drinks gives 40 grams protein.... by no means do i plan to eat more than one bar a day or drink one isopure a day I was sso surprised to see so many drinks bars shakes etc to choose from.(my first time ever visiting gnc) I am happy to have my sleeve but i find that i have to purchase more things to help with protein since i cant eat 60-80 grms daily.... There are some pros and cons to this whole wls.... by no means am i unhappy just have to get creative and not break my pocketbook buying all these vitamins supplements protein etc. Any feedback would be appreciated!

  7. Hi,
I know this is strange but im really nervous about trying softfoods in a couple of weeks.... I am on a 3 week post-op liquid diet per my physician. I have 2 weeks left and I dont know how i will deal with vomiting/sliming/chest pains and whatever else comes along with my new tummy mishaps. Yes i know i decided to have the sleeve and im not regretting my decisions but i dont want the discomfort or the ugly side of the sleeve to become a daily part of my life.... The first day i start soft foods i also return to work . I havent shared with coworkers/ family i had the surgery because i felt they honestly did not need to know and i will share if./when i choose to share. I have struggled with my weight for years and finally had the courage to do something about it but its been very painful, emotional, and extremely difficult. I know i am not the only one that has felt this way and im glad that this forum allows us to express the pain of weight issues/struggles/disappointments. I would greatly appreciate any tips, recipes, ideas on how to start soft foods also how to handle lunch at work!!! Thanks

  8. I love my sleeve but...

    Hey all,

I havent posted in a while so here i go.... I love my sleeve but i find myself enjoying food more than i thought i would.... I was extremely nervous to enter the soft food stage and now im up to the you can eat raw veggies, dense protein stage. I eat a few bites feel full but find myself not wanting to stop eating although i feel full.... Its like i feel full but also think i need to eat everything i put on the plate. I finally decided to buy some 4 0z containers to try to measure out my food. I am loosing weight but afraid i may be stretching my sleeve. I am not 2 months post-op but will be on Feb 28th. I really need advice on how to just eat 3 meals a day and be content once i have the im full feeling. I dont know whats making me want to eat in between meals sometimes and other times im ok. I feel like im sabatoging myself by continuously eating for no reason. I am being honest but feeling like im the old person not having any self control... Please help and thanks for listening I need support and praying im not the only one thats going/ gone thru this. This is all still so new to me. I havent vomited not one time since i started foods but i dont want to stretch my pouch so i know i need to have more self control just dont know how to avoid the old habits since nothing that i eat bothers my new tummy..... I dont mean to ramble but i want to be as truthful as possible about my eating habits. I dont have to snack but find myself not alot snacking on animal cookies, chips. My mind says no but i give in from time to time. I cant explain it. Blessings to all

  9. Lemon water or crystal light?

    Hi,
I am on stage 2 soft foods but not allowed to have any fruits until stage 3 which is in 2 more weeks. I am entering my 5th week post-op but really want to add fruit to my water. I like crystal light but sometimes it tastes too sweet. I think my taste buds have changed. I thought about buying lemon flavored crystal light but havent because i want to use a real lemon... . I love lemon in my water but wander if its too much for my sleeve. I am struggling with taking small bites/chewing well mushy food. I really try to count 20 times before i swallow and place my spoon/fork down before i find that sometimes the food just makes it to the back of my throat and i cant help but to swallow (weird i know) . I have a burning sensation from time to time in my right chest/breast area. Would like advice about if its safe to add lemon to my water and how to really focus on eating slowly and chewing well. I havent vomited/slimed but dont want to damage or stretch my pouch. Normally i am able to get maybe 5-6 bites before i fill like im about to pop!!! Thanks

  12. Hi Everyone,

I must admit i am nervous about starting foods since i havent had any in over a month if you add the 2 weeks pre-op diet but i know i have to eat!!! I cant believe i actually have very little desire to eat food because prior to surgery food was constantly on my mind(lol) Well my question is which yogurt has more protein greek or yoplait??? I have never tried Greek yogurt but i do like a few favorite yoplait light yogurts. Any advice on which soft foods should i start and yogurts would be greatly appreciated. Thx for your help. 13. Hello everyone....
I had my surgery on Dec 28th. I am 6 days post op and literally feel like im starving. I am drinking water and getting down one protein shake but for the last 2 days hunger pains are out of this world!!! Is this normal i am scheduled to be on a liquid-diet for 3 weeks and i didnt expect to feel like im starving 6 days post op. Its hard to get down3 protein shakes because the taste isnt the greatest since i had the surgery but i am concerned for another reason. I came home sunday from the hospital not feeling the greatest but not the worst, Monday i woke up and felt like i needed to have a bm.... I took miralax to see if my bowels would move but nothing happened all day on Monday. I woke up Tuesday and the constipation was worst and i literally felt like dying considering i hadnt had a bm since last Thursday Dec 27th. I was on the toilet off and on all day straining moaning sweating and trying to push it out but nothing would come out but a small turd. I felt like i was on fire(bottom) and it hurt soooooooooooo bad. I finally called the physicians office and they suggested milk of magnesia or dulcolax. I took milk of magnesia and like anything it takes time to work thru the system and i was soooo desperate and wanted the pain in my butt to stop and to get my bowels to move because it was literally sitting on tip of my exithole(sorry for being so graphic) but i just couldnt poop. I pushed and strained all day thinking i could get it to come out one of my small incisisons started bleeding and my biggest my incision is now bruised and more painful since this fiasco with constipation. Well needless to say i thought i would help speed upthe milk of magnesium and took a stool softner(gel cap) and my lower stomach hasnt been the same. The last 2 days my lower stomach has been bubbly, churning, gassy, and i feel like i have diarhea at times but when i go to the toilet its alot of gas but it feels like im about to poop on myself. I finally had my first bmi on Wednesday at about 4am . I was scared as hell to push but i had to a little and it finally oozed out(sorry i know tmi) but i felt better and was able to finally walk straight because on Monday and Tuesday i was walking hunched over like a lil old lady due to pain and just trying to find comfort from the constipation. I am worried if i have done damage to my pouch and my biggest incision. If anyone else has had constipation problems please share and any suggestions on dealing with my hunger pains which i didnt think i would have 6 days post-op i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for listening!!! I am not having regrets just want my sleeve to work to the max and to be successful!!! Have a blessed Thursday!!!
  14. Head and Ear congestion

    Good Afternoon,

Just curious has any one experienced head/ear congestion since being sleeved??? I am 9 days post-op and i wake up every daywith head congestion, ears feeling clogged etc. I find it odd considering that i have no other symptoms of a cold/allergies. Also, for the first few days of being home i constantly had dried blood in my nose or fragments whenever i would blow. I find myself constantly sniffing trying to clear up the drainage??? Just very curious if anyone has experienced this?? Thanks
