Is Anyone Else Dealing With Lupis, Or Any Other Autoimmune Disease? Please Help!
I also have fibro and some type of unknown autoimmune issues. I am on plaquenil and am dreading for them to tell me I have to stop it! I really hope they don't. I've read several articles on the web that say it isn't necessary to stop it. I hate to say it, but I may continue anyways. There is a gal on here that was able to continue hers and she was fine. I missed my fibro for a couple days once and oh how I hurt! Hope everything works out ok with you!

Can I Do This?
- Nsv Prior To Wls? Heck Yeah!
Good job! I posted one a bit ago about being able to fit in those skinny plastic doctors office chairs with arms that pinch your outer thighs and knees. It's a good feeling!- Something I Never Expected......
I lose too but it offsets the gain of one week prior lol!- Something I Never Expected......
I'm kinda the opposite. Part of the reason I've stayed heavy it's because I don't eat, well let me explain... I get up and have never been a breakfast eater, so I won't eat, then lunch rolls around and again not really hungry so I don't eat, by the time dinner rolls around I'm starving so I would eat one huge meal a day then snack all night till bed. So it's been hard for me to adjust and forcing myself to eat all throughout the day, but it's definitely helped me to lose weight and not snack all night, plus it seems like I can make better food choices. It's all such a big adjustment for us all one way or another.- Can I Do This?
Yeah I understand stopping some meds a week or maybe even two but a month or two seems excessive and honestly cruel unless they are gonna give you something else for pain until surgery... I have fibromyalgia and an undiagnosed autoimmune disorder and I can't imagine not having my meds that long...i'd be bed ridden.- Anyone Getting Or Been Sleeved In Kansas
Thanks... I kinda know that going in to it. My husband works at menorah and he hates that I have to have it done there. I'll be extra careful and I'm sure he'll be there to take notes and get on people. Lol... I'm trusting that the Lords got my back!- Anyone Getting Or Been Sleeved In Kansas
I'm out of olathe ks and am waiting to be sleeved by dr malley. My surgery will be at menorah hospital. I looked into them years ago and decided not to use them for those exact reasons. I then found out later that they have alot of issues with complications, etc. in my opinion I would look elsewhere. Sorry!- Newbie Sleeved On July 2, 2012
Congrats & thanks for sharing!- Great Day
Lol... Congrats thats so awesome & inspiring. I am so scared of saggy skin so I will def be using weights!- July 4Th, 2012
Well today's the 4th of July and it was a rather uneventful day. In-laws came over for some hamburgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob. I had a bun-less hamburger with some onion, tomato and avacado, plus a mini corn on the cob. Then they broke out the peanut butter/chocolate ice cream and of course, it's a holiday, so I have to treat myself! Didn't have much, but enough to go over my calories for the day. Oh well, tomorrow's a new day. I've been doing really good anyways. I've already lost 20lbs so... and I still have 2 more months to go of my 3 month waiting period. I am so nervous and yet so impatiently wanting to just get it over with so I can move on already! I feel like I've waited long enough... I've been heavy my whole life so it just seems like it's enough already. Then again, I'm glad I have some time to adjust to the new way of eating and getting things ready before surgery gets here... lol. Can you tell I'm a Gemini? Back and forth my mind goes... it's annoying, but I'm used to it. Anyways, I've been on here for a little while now and have met some really cool people that have really helped me and given me a lot of good information and things to think about. I definitely know the sleeve is the right choice for me, I'm just so scared of the surgery itself. Oh well, I imagine there would be something a little off if you were not nervous at all. Just trying to wait out my time. I'm sure it'll be here before I know it, but it seems like it's taking forever. My little girl starts kindergarten in August so I'm glad it'll at least be after that. Well, I'm gonna close now. Later all!- Prayers Are Needed
Hope you both continue to improve each day! May God bless you both!- Sleeved July 2Nd - My Story
Congrats! Glad you are doing well!- Ready To Get This Surgery!
Welcome! I'm pre-op too... You can learn alot by doing searches on subjects and reading the feeds.- What Was Your Breaking Point?
Oh my goodness... my heart goes out to you! I was in tears and gasping as I read your post. I have an almost 5 year old daughter and the very thought makes me nauseated. I am so glad you got the help you needed to change your life! Hugs to you!!!- What Was Your Breaking Point?
I'm just like you! I have been looking into this for a long time and I really believe it's what I need to do, but at the same time I am terrified of having this surgery. I keep thinking maybe I should try one more time to do it myself or maybe I haven't tried hard enough. I think it's the permanency of it that is so scary and that there is technically nothing wrong with my stomach and they're gonna cut it out of me, so extreme. I just keep praying that God will take care of me, calm my nerves, etc if this surgery is meant to be.- Marriage After Being Sleeved.....
I understand what you ladies are saying, but for me, I've always been heavy, not necessarily this heavy but definitely well over "normal". Also, I do have health issues that have caused me to not be able to lose weight like I should or wanted. So I think I see it from a little different perspective. I guess I'm lucky because I already have a husband who looks at me, the way I am, and wants to be with me. Where the "spark" has been lost is within myself, which definitely affects our relationship. There are many benefits that will come from having this surgery, but ultimately it's for my health. Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers, just saying if you had a husband who doesn't love you for you, no matter what, thats sad to me.- Marriage After Being Sleeved.....
It seems like the whole point of "for better our worse" is being completely overlooked here. I'm sorry but I did not marry my husband because of his physical appearance. Is that part of what initially attracted me to him, sure, but definitely not why I married him. Same for him towards me. I mean what if you were in some horrific accident and disfigured? Would that qualify as grounds for divorce? I'm sorry but this whole feed makes me sad for those of you who feel you have to "maintain" your physical appearance for any other reason then your health, that should be everyone's main concern, especially those with children! If your husband can't love you for you no matter what, then you shouldn't be together.- I Got My Date!
Congrats and good luck!- New Here
From what I've read sometimes it can be because they took the stomach out on that side so it can be a little more sore, but I'd touch base with your doc to be sure.- Protein Shakes - Help!
http://www.mybariatricpantry.com/SYNTRAX_NECTAR_PROTEIN_POWDER_SAMPLES_p/nectar-sample.htm- Protein Shakes - Help!
The nectar is no fat or sugar for most if not all flavors. They are 100 calories for one scoop which is 23 grams protein. I found a sample pack online too for like $18.99 and it had like almost every flavor... - Nsv Prior To Wls? Heck Yeah!
