  1. I would not think that it would cause problems, as ablation and d&c are relatively non-invasive (meaning no incisions have to made). It's most likely to be done as an outpatient procedure, with you going home the same day. Best wishes to you.
  2. Feeling jealousy right now!! . Amazing achievements! Congrats! ~Jane
  3. Littlebits~ it's up already!!! http://www.bethennytv.com/ Thanks for the heads up! ~ Jane
  4. Oh yes, it does sound very familiar, down to the having trouble staying awake. Sip when you can, rest when you can. It does improve, dramatically. Take care of yourself. ~Jane
  5. Love your grey kitty and pink claws!!!! So cute and playful! I have three fur babies, all adopted. One only has eyes for my daughter, he's a Siamese. My Tabby and my Himalayan have not left my side since surgery. I loved being able to pet them and their purrs made me feel better. =^..^=
  6. All good ideas! Thanks ladies! ~Jane
  7. Vickee~ I have been loving black bean soup!!!! ~Jane
  8. They were delish!
  9. "Cheers"!!! (yes, w my Protein shake)
  10. I'd like to second (or third) the motion for coffee. I had not gone for ~9 - 10 days and I was dying for a cup of coffee. My husband had brewed his usual morning coffee and I asked for just a little demitasse cup, with splenda and powdered creamer. It was literally under 2 ounces of coffee. I was thinking I probably didn't need to "go" much as I haven't had solid foods. Well let me tell you the coffee worked magic and the amount was astonishing. Sorry for being graphic, but I hope you find some magic to give you relief. It does take time for the bowel to recover from surgery, anesthesia and narcotics. Take care. ~Jane
  11. Fortunately, I have not experienced a migraine since I started my preop diet on June 11, surgery was on June 25. (knock on wood, something, do a dance!) YAY! Makes me think that my diet may have been the culprit in triggering my migraines! I have also been able to discontinue my B/P medicine. Hopefully you all will experience relief or reduction of Migraines, at least perhaps a reduction in medication. Best wishes to all. ~Jane
  12. Everyone's suggestions are great! I would like to add that I've been using my immersion blender with my soups, just found it easier. I purchased an inexpensive strainer from Walmart, which I've used a lot for said soups. Oh and colorful plastic baby spoons. I tried to take bites w regular soup spoons and I would take in too much to swallow comfortably. I've practically lived on vitamin water zero and watered down G2 (as my water), as not to elevate electrolytes, just maintain and hydrate. I've been using a large container of Fage 0% Greek yogurt. I could spoon out small portions and thin it w a little high protein milk and a little sprinkle of Splenda or sugar free Torani syrups to change it up a bit. ***A bag of Sonic ice**(Did you hear me sing??) I don't know how I would have survived w/o it. I even put it in my liquid Lortab to dilute it. Best wishes for you!!! ~Jane
  13. My doctor warned me on discharge day that that particular incision on my right (at my natural waist bend) may bother me longest, explaining that was where he pulled the excised stomach out. Also explained to me that he stitched down into the muscle very well as to prevent hernia. So every bend and stretch is noticeable, not terribly painful, just bothersome to me. Best wishes to all! ~Jane
  14. Hi Jackers! We were sleeved on the same day Fluids are going down fairly well, a little trouble with getting in the necessary volume. Thanks for your post, as I have had some of the same thoughts. I am very hopeful as I read the veterans comments. "Cheers" to us (as I sip on my protein). Jane
  15. I may have to try this tomorrow!!
  16. Welcome Mom! You'll do great, I'm sure! It took me a little time to adjust to the preop diet, just continued to remind my self how important it was. My surgeon told my husband that my liver was small and looked great! I am now 10 days out, no complications and doing very well. The veterans here were/are correct with the advice of, "sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk". My current diet stage is full liquids and I find I feel better if I take a little walk, just after eating. Best wishes to you! I hope that you have an uneventful surgery, tolerable discomfort and a speedy recovery. Check back in and let us know how you are. ~Jane
  17. Outstanding accomplishments!! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing. I'm 10 days out and hope to do as well!
  18. Cam~ Thanks for your post. It's very reassuring and quite comforting that you sound so happy. I am a little over one week postop and I hope to feel as good as you sound! It's hard for me to imagine one year from now. I hope I can make the most of my sleeve. Very exciting....
  19. I had my drain removed on Monday. I felt it to be an odd pressure like sensation, but I would not describe it as painful and it was quick. It was never painful to have it either, I would describe it as a necessary nuisance. Best wishes to you!
  20. I am 8 days postop and have had zero complications, not even nausea. I am no longer taking pain medications. I even went to a movie w my daughter today!!! (She drove) For those who had difficulties, please please please don't hate. We heal at different rates, have individual pain perception and varied medical histories. Best wishes to you. I hope the topics and threads help you with making an informed decision that's right for you.
  21. I'm 8 days postop and was finally able to sleep on my sides last night, after having my drain removed yesterday. After a week of sleeping on my back, and I am Not a back sleeper, I was so grateful to sleep on my side. Haven't been brave enough to try the tummy yet!!
  22. note2bear~ awesome thought/thread.
  23. I know that I would be heartbroken as well! However, from a medical point of view, I am glad that you did not find this out at one week post op!!! You can find a surgical group that can care for you and support you for the next year and beyond! Good luck to you!
