  1. Oh my gosh.... I have felt the same way today!!! There was a mandatory meeting for one of the groups at my office today. Because it was being held during the lunch hour, they brought in some of the towns best PIZZA!!!! Ooooooh I was held hostage by such incredible aroma! But my liver and I escaped!!!!!
  2. Thanks for sharing!! I was just fantasizing about a fudgescicle last night, wishing there was a brand I could have (I'm Preop). My friend suggested that I make some. Now I can!!!!
  3. Preop appt this am! Had my shake, no coffee , but I'm ready to go.
  4. Looks delish!! Thanks!!!
  5. Trying a cup of twinings mint tea w Splenda. The "head hunger" is messing w me a little today. I saw in another thread that a postop sleever found this soothing to her new tummy, so I thought I'd give it a try. Kinda nice.
  6. Doing well, especially w the help of my family. It's getting closer ...tick tick ...
  7. Day 4- of Preop diet here, w/ a mild headache this am. I cut out caffine and soft drinks about two weeks ago. I like the shakes I've chosen, so far. Getting all the required water in hasn't been bad, I kinda crave it now. But wow the ketosis mouth is a bit funky. I'm trying not to depend on gum or mints, because they are discouraged post op. I brush a lot and keep sipping water. Good luck everyone! ~Jane
  8. i can't wait to have FLS!!!!!!
  9. I have to agree w Nancy. Lol. Thanks! ...And I was able to see it in my head too! <giggle>
  10. Just checking in... How are all the June 25th sleevers doing? Many of us just started the Preop diet, some on a good stride with it. So far, so good. But wow, it is mind game w me for sure! I've had to avoid the break room today. I work in a medical office and someone brought in catered lunch!!!! Ouch! That was hard! When my husband asked how I was doing today, I told him that so far I hadn't eaten any children, small pets or "the ice cream man". But I bet I'll tear up a SF Popsicle or some SF Jello tonight . Getting in required foods and liquids, no splurges. But OMG I feel like I have to go urinate every hour!!! LOL! I'm like a little kid doing the peepee dance in the hall. I'll just take all those extra steps and add them into my days activity Hope you're all well and having a good day. ~Jane
  11. Thanks! Love a good visual!
  12. Awesome! Thoughts for a speedy, uneventful surgery and recovery!
  13. Oh my gosh...... I am salivating! All of the tweaks and ideas sound fantastic! This is definitely "do-able" on my preop diet, as well as providing moist flavor options for postop. Thanks everybody! ~Jane
  14. Cissie ~ I was so tickled when I saw this. Brings back good memories: My daughters granny taught us this so long ago. I'm on day one of 2week preop diet, I have stocked up from Walmart and plan to have a warm cup this pm as a treat. I'm pretty excited to say that my family is following the diet w me for the next two weeks as well. It helps so much!!! Very happy that I found this thread. It's nice to have others that understand exactly what you're going through!
  15. Ditto on Celtic's post! Keeping y'all in our thoughts.
  16. Oooohhhh guys and girls.... I get little, no make that BIG, butterflies in my tummy when I think of tomorrow: <insert booming male radio/tv voice> "THE PREOP DIET" Essentially my relationship w food changes tomorrow. Although the change may have begun last week, because some foods became unappealing to me to me recently. However, the cake at last nights wedding reception remained very attractive! So glad that was this week and not next! I don't want to test my resolve, but I will not allow my love for carbs to sabatoge my surgery. I want a nice, small, pretty and happy liver for my surgery. Probably the final countdown to surgery is adding to Butterflies? Maybe I should stop reading the immediate postoperative comments for a little while? Our perceptions to pain differ greatly, as well as our recoveries. I try to remember that when reading other's posts. Would y'all like to post in this thread after surgery just to let each other know we are okay? (when you feel up to it, of course) Thanks for "hearing" me out, on this anxious morning. Not sure who's listening, but it feels better just putting it out to others that are on the same path. Now, I'm going to go have a great day with my family, before my reduction in carbs makes them afraid to come near me. ~Jane
  17. June 25 for me! Anxious, nervous, excited... the list goes on... Preop diet begins Monday the 11th. Yikes! It's getting "real" for me now. Best of wishes for you. ~Jane
  18. Thanks for encouragement. Can't figure out the anxiety, very unlike me. ...I guess a few deep breaths and a walk to clear my mind...
  19. Best wishes to those before me! Thanks for posting your thoughts and achievements. I start my Preop diet Monday. I was feeling prepared for it, but today I'm having twinges of anxiety! ~Jane
