  2. First of all, nothing about her description sounds like this guy has a "fetish". If a guy prefers a thin woman, does HE have a fetish? I like dark-haired men, do I have a fetish? Clearly not. A man who prefers a heavier woman doesn't have something WRONG with him. Second of all, if a person DOES have a fetish, how exactly does that make them an enabler of bad habits 100% of the time? That's just a stupid thing to say. OP, why did y'all break up in the first place? That's more important than the weight issue, I think. I'm a hopeless romantic realist! If the original break-up issue has been resolved, then maybe there's a chance. If not, I fear history is doomed to repeat itself. Would he do couples' therapy with you?
  3. What do raw veggies do to you?
  4. I had an amazing thanksgiving! I ate but never felt out of place. Everyone noticed my weight loss and was SO supportive and happy for me. All in all, it was wonderful.
  5. Funny, but I didn't even notice anyone else's plate or food. Too focused on my own food, I guess!
  6. I had to have everything warm. Cold HURT me so bad!
  7. I was so happy that I felt satisfied with so little! I'm proud of myself.
  8. I'm happy with what I've eaten, too. Turkey, spoonful of green bean casserole, spoonful of sweet potatoes and a spoonful and a half of cornbread dressing! I ate on a dessert plate and was extremely happy that it took me the same amount of time to eat mine as everyone else. I didn't feel deprived or weird at the table!!
  9. I'm feeling disproportionate, too! I'm definitely shrinking from the waist up, and my pants are looser, but my G&B (aka the gut & butt) are holding on for dear life. I look weird!
  10. Sometimes out of the blue, I really miss eating. We're headed out of town and just passed a favorite restaurant. I pictured myself eating a big, nice meal and miss that. I know why I did this and I'm committed to it, but sometimes it's really hard.
  11. I've always hated plain water, it's like medicine to me! I use Crystal Light packs religiously.
  12. Anyone else nervous about tomorrow? We're going to my bff's house and she is an AMAZING cook who makes everything from scratch! Yikes...
  13. On a whim, I slipped on my size 20, Old Navy jeans and those suckers fit! Can't wear them right now bc jeans still make my tender tummy hurt, but it was AWESOME to put them on.

I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow and I still nearly faint when I stand up from bending over! And my stamina is veeerrrryyyy slowly. I'm still whipped by the time I get home from work.
  15. Your original slant had nothing to do with legality. It was a broad sweeping statement about people who use any drugs or alcohol. Pick a soapbox dear, you're backtracking on yourself.
  16. A blanket labeling of people who partake in activities in which you clearly don't "approve" of as addicts is arrogant, incorrect and just plain stupid. As previously stated, you're entitled to your opinion, however, you are not entitled to your own facts.
  17. My mother takes pain medicine when her fibromyalgia flares, my friend has a Xanax every now and again to combat an anxiety disorder, my DH has a glass of wine several times a week while cooking dinner, pre-sleeve I drank about a bottle of wine every weekend...are we all "addicts"? WAY out of line. I grew up with both a father and an aunt who truly were addicts and I don't throw the word around lightly. You'd do well to do the same.
  18. I'd loooove to be an 18 by Xmas, but it'll likely be a 20. I'll take it though!!
  19. I was sleeved on 10/15 and my biggest struggle is delineating "my body needs food" vs. "I want to eat". They are 2 very different things and I'm still trying to figure out the signs, signals and feelings associated with each. For instance, today I've had the feeling that I want to "eat a lot of something", as in a full, BIG meal. Now I know that that feeling is my mind trying to get me to do what I've done for years...over eat. Now I'm trying to figure out WHY. Boredom, self-pity, stress, habit, WHAT?! This is such a PROCESS, and I don't think anyone can understand it until you're in the middle of it. Good luck to us all!
  20. We're all adults and make our own decisions about our bodies. I was 100+ pounds overweight, clearly I'm in no position to judge what anyone else chooses to do with their body.
  21. The only reason I know about the 13 is from my 1st post op appt and then I got on the scale at my mother's at 4 weeks!
  22. I lost 10 pounds the 1st 2 weeks and only 3 the 2nd 2 weeks also! I have no scale in the house anymore, so I have no idea if I've lost any more. My clothes are DEFINITELY looser though!
  23. I know what you mean. My jiggly bits are a little too jiggly right now! I feel naked. lol
