  1. You'll do great!! Just have something to drink at the ready all day long and pace yourself. Does your new supervisor know you had surgery? If yes, simply explain that your stamina still isn't 100% and you need a short break when necessary. Hide in the bathroom if you must, but take a few minutes to breathe deeply, close your eyes, lower your shoulders, relax your jaw and go to a happy place.
  2. Yes, her comment was rude regardless of her size, but given her size, it was even more hurtful. The OP was venting and I don't think she TRULY meant literally that all skinny girls are evil. I used to be really thin, too (108 at my lightest) but I wasn't a rude b***h. I was raised better. Making fun of, and discriminating against, fat people is one of the last "acceptable" prejudices. As current and former fatties, we are hypersensitive to that and likely always will be. A good thing. Having a degrading comment about the size of your behind hurts coming from anyone, but it has an extra sting coming from a thin person.
  3. If you say your co-worker's butt is like a couch then, yes, you'll be a skinny b***h, too.
  4. I'm 5 weeks out on Monday and I'm just now able to take a more normal sized drinks and not tiny sips.
  5. Days 5-10 were terrible for me. I felt SO hungry and food was all I thought about ALL the time!! I knew in my right mind that it was only the dreaded head hunger, but it was miserable nonetheless. Then after that, things started getting better and better and the still are. It's a crazy time for you right now but just hang in there...it's going to get better soon!!! You can do this!!!
  6. Strangely enough, during the 1st couple of weeks I LOVED sf popsicles but drinking anything cold sent my new stomach into painful spasms. Play with different temps to find what works for you. Good luck to you. You'll feel better soon, I promise!
  7. Not all of the Hostess employees are/were union members. The bakers union represented only about 5000 employees, but they were critical employees, obviously. 6,000+ were teamsters but they voted to end the strike, so that's approximately 13,000 that either weren't a part of the strike or voted to end it early. It's sad for families losing income in this economy no matter.
  8. I know!! I was so disappointed bc I WANTED to like it. lol
  9. Great minds and all that!
  10. Buy Vick's nose spray! It's magic. I hope you feel better.
  11. I'm 5 weeks out on Monday and I'm having a TERRIBLE time with memory and focus. I'm glad someone mentioned it. I guess it's a combination of anesthesia, surgery recovery and so few calories right now. I hope it goes away!!
  12. UNIONS decide whether or not to strike, NOT the employees themselves. I'm certain that at least SOME of the 18,000 people losing theirs jobs didn't want to strike. You post is mean spirited.
  13. Well, I had my 1st "bad" sleeve experience last night. I had a small avocado for dinner; no issues. Then DH asked if I wanted a little bit of turkey sausage. It was very lean and not spicy, and he cut me four very thin pieces. I chewed the hell out of them and ate really slowly, and they went down fine. THEN, about 5 minutes later I got such horrible chest pain that I was in tears. It didn't matter what I did, I got no relief and it scared me. I never vomited or slimed but I was miserable for almost an hour. Not sure if it was the spices in the sausage or I over-ate, but it really got my attention. I wish I knew what caused it so I could avoid it in the future.
  14. Glad you're going to ER. Better safe than sorry!! Take the bottle with you just in case.
  15. Do you take blood pressure medication? Ate you diabetic?
  16. There are some real doosies on here for sure! Majestic me pity the people who have to put up with them in real life!!
  17. I wouldn't do it alone, especially outside the country.
  18. Hungry Girl makes pizza in portobello mushrooms instead if crust! Not to the point I can try it yet, bit sounds so good.
  19. What exactly was the point of this?
