  1. There's nothing better than a cold, "gas station" pickle!! LOL
  2. I have a fatty liver, too, and had NO pre-op diet. Not even a bowel cleanse the night before! I did not have a CT scan. I did not have an endoscopy. I had my pre-op appointment 3 weeks before surgery, but it was due to MY scheduling issues! So, if this is just "this is a huge life-changing surgery" nerves, then just do what he says. If it's "I don't trust this guy" nerves, run like hell! If your gut has you questioning the surgeon, then you should listen and make an appt with another doctor.
  3. BTW, I have a "fatty liver" and had NO pre-op diet!!!
  4. Pre-op diets are hotly debated here! Every surgeon has his/her own ideology and arguments for/against pre-op diets. Then, among those surgeons who choose to prescribe a pre-op diet, there are as many diets as there are doctors!! And, then there are the post-ops diets! LOL Basically, you have to choose a surgeon that you trust with your life and follow his/her instructions.
  5. Guess what 15thers?!?! I can wear my engagement ring again!! What what!!! My very 1st NSV!! Yay me!
  6. What's the danger? Should I be concerned that my surgeon didn't say to crush?
  7. Plus, I'm a little bitchy, so I don't think too many people will say idiotic things to me!
  8. I was swallowing pills in the hospital, too!
  9. I would KILL OR DIE for a pickle right now!! I love them so much and eat them literally every day. I haven't tried to eat one yet, but I must admit that I've had a couple of swigs of pickle juice!!
  10. No, I don't think I was truly hungry, but I find that smelling foods that I "like" triggers head hunger for me. Also, there's the social aspect of everyone eating but me. It's weird. I wanted the taste if that salty, meaty pizza, but I also knew that I'd never do it! I know this will be a struggle and if it was easy, I wouldn't be fat in the first place!! HA! I'm going to do it, but I also know it's going to SUCK eggs sometimes!
  11. I'm glad you let us know that you're feeling better!! Keep up the good work.
  12. I waited 1 day short if 3 weeks for my approval. My coworker on had to wait 5 days!! I was so pissed!
  13. We met my parents 1/2 way between us to take the kids to a dinosaur exhibit and I was trapped in the hotel room with everyone eating pizza last night!! I thought I was going to DIE. Or cry. Or both. It was terrible! But I drank my stupid ?$*#ing shake and smiled, though my mouth was watering (literally) and I could've eaten 1/2 that damn pizza. {SIGH} Damn, this is so hard y'all. :/
  14. I was sleeved the 15th, and up until just a few days ago, anything cold would make my new stomach spasm and hurt. Everything, even water, had to be room temp or warmer!
  15. I'm milking it for as long as possible!! LOL Had some pinto Beans at Cracker Barrel yesterday and they were like ambrosia from the gods!! LMAO I ate 2 at a time, chewed like hell and all was well. Had a few bites of scrambled eggs this morning (with Louisiana Hot Sauce, no less!) and they settled well, too. I'm VERY happy about being on puréed foods...who'd of thunk it?!?!
  16. Well, the tuna was overhyped, but it felt good to eat real food. I had some chicken salad about 1/2 an hour ago and it feels like a stuck little lump. And lord knows I chewed it within an inch of its life!!
  17. Glad you talked to him! That's one less stressor. You can focus on healing when the time comes.
  18. I know how lucky I am...I had NO pre-op diet! It's absolutely NUTS how varied doctors are on this subject. smh
  19. PRAISE THE food GODS...I emailed my doc and I can try puréed three days early!!! I'm going to make some tuna salad as soon as the fullness of my Protein shake wears off. I've never been so excited about tuna fish in my life!!!! Lets just hope it goes well...
