I, too, was most afraid of NOT having the surgery. I have 3 small children and the certainty of not living a long, healthy life was far more terrifying than anything I conjured up pre-surgery. Health concerns, both current and looming, would have significantly shortened my life. I realize, of course, that I could get hit by a beer truck tomorrow and die, but I had to do everything in my power to live as long as possible so that my children have a mother. I was certain of my decision and wouldn't have had regrets even had I experienced complications. I HAD to do this for myself and my family.

I totally agree...at the very least its thoughtless and inconsiderate, at worse its downright cruel! My husband wouldn't do that to me and I wouldn't tolerate it anyway. But at the end of the day, we are ultimately responsible for our own actions. Including how we allow others to treat us.

I was also able to take non-chewable medication on the day after surgery.

I'm so *#%$ing irritable today. My husband isn't being very care-takerish, my kids are being awful and I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow but don't feel up to it. Also, I'm jealous at all of my other 10/15ers losing SO MUCH weight the 1st week. BLAH.

I'm so proud of myself...my daughters bday and party were yesterday and even I though I ended up ALONE in the house with 1/2 a chocolate cake, I took not one crumb!! I never really even considered it.

The funny thing is that that idea was "practice" pre-op for my puréed stage...I'm only full liquids for all of next week, too!!! I, too, am having a chocolate Protein shake for breakfast.

OMG, I just had this conversation with my husband! It's not so noticeable when I'm lying down, but when I'm standing I have a swollen area above my largest incision about the size of my hand. So much so much so that there's a little divot where my incision is. Like I'm tufted right there!!

My surgeon does one during surgery but not after. I trust him (he's done surgery on me before) and I'm okay with his way of doing things.

Feeling pretty good today! Warm, not hot, broth (chicken and beef) have tasted good to me, I'm on my 2nd ENS shake if the day and I'm 3 16.9oz bottles of water down today!! I'm pretty sure I overdid it yesterday, so I tried to rest more today. And I'm VERY proud of myself for resisting my daughters yummy chocolate bday cake!!! It's still taunting me ...

Get rid of those things!! They'll lure you in with their cheesiness!

My husband and kids are at a Halloween party and I should've put it in the car with them!!! Stupid, stupid, yummy chocolate cake! ;P

My local grocery store has whole pre-cooked chickens. I buy one of those, pull it off the bone and throw it in the Ninja with some low fat mayo, s&p, and a little mayo. Eat it in a tortilla or just by itself. And I bought cute, little, patterned containers to put it in!

Thanks y'all! And now from bad to worse?!?! I'm ALONE in the house right now!!

NON low sodium broth. My husband didn't know to buy the low sodium kind and the salty kind has so much more flavor!! Why are we supposed to eat the low sodium kind? Just bc it's healthier overall?

I was sleeved on Monday the 15th with 6 incisions. The band aids are long since gone after a couple of showers but I'm more worried about the Steri-Strips. I'm only 5 days post-op, but most of my Steri-Strips are coming off! How long are they supposed to stay on?

I'm confused, too! I just had an entire can of warm beef broth over the course of about 30 minutes. Should I be able to "eat" that much at once?

And just to make matters worse, today is my daughters bday and there is 1/2 a chocolate cake in my kitchen taunting me while I sip beef broth. Damn you, chocolate cake!!! {shaking fist}

I'm 5 days out and now I understand why Elvis shot his TVs...THE food COMMERCIALS. I'm *dying* over here! I'm on full liquids for another 8 (loooooong) days. I want everything advertised. Lord help us!

My 1st Saturday weigh-in, too! Had surgery on Monday the 15th. Weighed 255 the day of surgery....today (5 days later) I'm at 250. It's not much and it's WAY lower than most at one week, but it is what it is. :/

I was sleeved on Monday the 15th. I was feeling really good yesterday, but a tad worse today. My large incision is painful today, especially when getting up and down. And it burns. I'm also feeling blah and tired today. I think I overdid it yesterday and I'm paying the price today. SIGH. And I'm STARVING. I suppose it's the dreaded "head hunger" we all heard about pre-op. :'(
