  1. I'll be 10 weeks post surgery on Monday. I'm unsure if the actual pounds lost to date as I shunned my scale, but I'm at least 2 sizes down on all of my clothes so I know I'm losing. I've never exercised "formally" in my life as I abhor it. But...I know that in order to maximize my weight loss and be as healthy as possible, I MUST start. I face several challenges in making time to exercise. First off, I have three small children; 2 in preschool, one in grade school. All three have homework which means Mommy & Daddy have homework! Secondly, I commute about an hour and 20 minutes one way to work every day. I literally live on one side of town and work on the other side, and work 8:30-5. Lastly, walking (the supposedly best way to ease into exercising) is off limits bc I have a completely torn ACL in my left knee. Physical therapist said no exercising that involves me picking up and putting down my foot!! I'm not really in a financial position right now to join a gym, and I can't see having the time to go anyway. I have a wonderful husband who does more than his share but our daily lives are jammed full from start to finish, and we already don't get enough sleep!! Help!!
  2. Ok, I can *tolerate* Greek yogurt at best but I know it's a good snack so I started experimenting. I mixed an individual container of Chobani vanilla with 1/2 a packet of sf cheesecake pudding mix, a packet of Splenda and a splash of light coconut milk. YUMMY!!
  3. Ginger is my miracle nausea cure! And lemonade seems to help settle my stomach, too. Try staying away from dairy for a few days, too, that may help. I hope you feel better!
  4. Bariwise Protein bars. Both the regular and the crunchy ones. Love them!! I keep a box at home, a box in my desk at work and 2 bars in my purse at all times. They come in variety packs which I love. Feels like I'm cheating!
  5. If I have to drive through somewhere, I order a grilled chicken sandwich with only chicken and bread. Toss the bun, eat the grilled chicken!
  6. Good to know that it's not a permanent change! Sometimes it's almost overpowering. And god forbid someONE smell smoky or sweaty or stinky in some way...that makes me want to hurl. BLECH. I feel like a damn bloodhound!
  7. Just buy CHEAP hair conditioner! It's works just as well, it's MUCH less expensive and you don't get embarrassed if your stepdad sees it in your shower.
  8. I'm pretty sure she was referring to the widely varying doctor's opinions! LOL
  9. So, exactly why do we have such a hypersensitive nose post-sleeve? I feel like I have dog smell or something and its mostly NOT a good thing! Does this side-effect mellow out further out from surgery? I'm almost 10 weeks out and it's still going strong!
  10. If you're eating enough, getting enough water and are otherwise healthy, Google orthostatic hypotension. It's likely it could be related to that, but definitely see your doctor.
  11. Hey 15thers! How's everyone doing? I've felt actual hunger for the past few days and it makes me really nervous. Kind of freaks me out. Anyone else?
  12. Baton Rouge here! I'm 9 weeks out.
  13. I'm by no means a veteran (only 9 weeks out) but i can say that the 1st two weeks were rough with regards to hunger. I thought I was starving to death! I started on puréed at 2 weeks and things got A LOT better. Now I don't really feel hungry as much as empty when I need to eat. Hang in there...it gets so much better!!!
  14. Cool about the chia seeds. Thanks for the info!!
  15. But let's be honest, you asked about drinking alcohol one week after surgery. I think some "duh" answers are to be expected when asking a question that has SUCH an obvious answer!
  16. Internet bullying?! Seriously? That's laughable, and it's insulting to victims of *real* Internet bullying.
  17. If nameless, faceless people on an Internet forum have the ability to make you feel badly about yourself, you've got bigger problems than a few bites of chicken.
  18. I consider it more of an information exchange. I don't count on nameless, faceless people on the Internet for support. And they don't hurt my feelings either. But that's just me.
  19. When you posts in a public forum, you have to ne grown-up enough to handle ALL responses, not just the ones you want to hear. You gotta take the good with the bad on a forum such as this.
  20. I take a stool softener every other day and all is well!
