  1. Most of the major bariatric Protein companies offer sample/variety packs and I highly recommend order those first. I absolutely HATE About Time and Syntrax nectar but most people love them, and your taster really does change after surgery!
  2. I drink 2 ENS shakes a day as they contain all of the Vitamins and Calcium needed for a day (except iron). I mix it with 4oz if skim milk and 4oz of Water so it's not so thick. It doesn't taste wonderful, but I can't stomach vitamins right now so it's better than having to choke those down. What I truly like is unjury in all it's forms. The chocolate Splendor really does taste like chocolate milk to me! My NUT gave me some samples and now I order both the tubs and the packets. As for RTD, I do EAS Carb Control from Walmart. It's cheap and tastes fine without being carb heavy (which can slow your weight loss).
  3. vanilla Coke Zero was my drug of choice and I still crave it! I tapered off slowly about 6 weeks before my surgery bc I knew I'd have a hard time. My mom still drinks it all the time and my mouth waters when I see it!! LOL It'll all be worth it in the end!!
  4. I'm expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I'm preparing myself for the worst case scenario...extremely thin hair, maybe even bald spots. If I get lucky and it's not so bad, then I'll be pleasantly surprised. I plan to color it (thickens the hair shaft) and cut it shoulder length when it gets bad. I'll just tell everyone it's my "summer cut" a little early. Should hit me in the next month or so...
  5. Just read that it's a double whammy of major surgery/anesthesia and rapid weight loss, and there's nothing you can do about it! Not getting enough Iron or Protein makes it even worse apparently. "Hey, you're looking hot in those jeans...too bad about that big BALD SPOT." LMAO
  6. I miss my vanilla Coke Zero SO VERY MUCH!! Truth? Just typing that made my mouth Water. lol
  7. I have fine hair and I'm HORRIFIED at the thought of losing HALF of it. :'(
  8. I go back to my doc next Tuesday and will find out how much I've lost. (I had DH take it out of the house very early on as I was obsessing.) I had lost 22.5 at my 6 week checkup, but I feel like I haven't really lost much since. I get stressed about finding out and I'm already worrying 6 days ahead if the appointment! I haven't been exercising at all, but I've been strictly adhering to the diet guidelines. I guess I'm still convinced that ill be the one who won't lose weight with WLS!!
  9. I used Dr. Brent Allain in BR. Great staff!
  10. Cool idea! Especially for me bc I forget all the funny things my kids say.
  11. Having that much chunky soup with chicken at 4 days out seems like a lot.
  12. My doc said Tylenol Sinus, but honestly, it didn't help me much. I hope you feel better!
  13. It's whey protein isolate? I'm always trying new stuff!
  14. Fage is at the regular grocery store or someplace like Whole Foods?
  15. Traci gives good advice. Measure your food until you get a good feel for portion size. At 4 days out I was still struggling with drinking (I was on full liquids for 2 weeks post-op). It's likely that you can't feel the "full" sensation so soon and it'd be safer t measure. Good luck!!
  16. Welcome aboard!! There are some amazing people here, a few assholes and plenty of crazies!!
  17. Surgeon says no aspirin, ibuprofen or naproxen for me. Only Tylenol. The others are rough on a new tummy apparently.
  18. Most of my family events are food focused, too, and my family doesn't give a rat's ass about my struggle! {rolling eyes} I have a food allergy that they don't bother with either, so not surprised. Literally 6 tins of Cookies, which is my drug of choice. It was rough, but I persevered and refused them all!! I'm SO HAPPY to be back at my house and back in control of the food around me.

First off, you're NEVER too old for Mommy Issues! LOL I chose not to tell mine until after surgery bc she always makes everything about HER. She'd focus on how SHE felt about MY surgery instead of offering support or just keeping her mouth shut. Frankly, I needed all of my emotional energy to focus on myself and my upcoming life change. I didn't have any to spare for her so I just didn't tell her. Best decision I ever made!
  20. I take a stool softener a couple if times a week and all is well now, at 11 weeks out. In the beginning, I had to to take it very day to keep things moving. Once you can eat more and get all of your water in, it gets way easier. (<----pun intended!)
