  1. I was july 17th as well, started 243, was 234 the day of surgery and was 224 on july 31. I haven't lost anything since. Combination of the normal stall it seems that occurs a few weeks out and stress on my part....
  2. Thank you everyone for the support and advice!!! I'm working on the food diary and doing a mini start over, liquids only then working back to soft foods.
  3. I recently lost my mother, and I am three weeks out from surgery. I am not looking for any "no no you shouldn't do this" from anyone, I am however looking for advice from people who may have been through a similar situation on what they did to maintain correct "eating" (if you can call it that?) I feel like I eat a lot of food, now I am told by my family that I just eat more often through out the day but when I do eat I eat very little.(I have also had a few days where I would realize around 5 or 6 that I had not eaten anything yet that day) I am not making the best choices as far as what I am eating, and this is not something I am proud of, as I do not want to waste this new start!! It has been hard though, in the past when I have been depressed I have always had food to turn to, and I am really trying not to fall into old unhealthy patterns. I do find that with my mind else where and trying to arrange my mother's funeral, I am not getting my Protein and I am not getting anywhere near the exercise I need to. I am thinking I am going to start a food diary, which I am sure I should have done from day one, but with taking care of my mother, and my children I just haven't found the time or energy to do so. I would love any other suggestions that anyone may have to help me get back on track! Thanks!!!
  4. I am 10 days out and I am also having an issue reading what my body is telling me. Hunger feels different now, and so does full! For now I try to drink and if I still feel hungry I'll get some soup ( still on liquids) my biggest thing is I am working on is slowing down when I eat! Best of luck
  5. I'm sorry, but I'm with LT on this, and I've noticed it is usually the same damn people who feel they are entitled to comment and be rude as if they are are the all knowing sleeve gods. LT has every right to say something back to these people who feel it necessary to scold anyone who does something they deem "bad" like a child. I posted something a while back and had one of the same people talk to me like I was an idiot and yes, it did get to me. Even if it shouldn't have, because I thought the point of this forum was supposed to be about support. Support is not running your mouth and acting like you are so much better because you have never done anything wrong when it comes to your sleeve. To whoever said it looks bad that LT said anything back, you're insane. Personally I would stand up for myself too. It's getting old people, if you don't agree with what someone has done it's ok to express genuine concern, but stop being so judgemental. We have all been in the same position, we are all trying to make our lives better and share our experiences. Just my opinion
  6. I am a week and a half out and I watch my little ones. I have a 7,2, and 11 month old. I live with family so they help me with picking up the little one. My two year old knows mommy's tummy is hurt and so I can't pick him up. I cook for them no prob, i try to go outside with them to walk while they play. The first days were tough, but you can get through it. I sleep when they take naps to regain energy and get me through the day
  7. I've been wondering the same thing, i can't sleep anyway but on my back right now. I've tried the pillow thing but I haven't had much luck with that myself. I usually sleep on my tummy as well :-/
  8. My doctor advised me to move on to milk if I was doing fine on the clear liquids, never mentioned the possibility of any lactose intolerance. To clarify the fish was what I would classify as a mushee food not a solid. However thank you for your input. I will not move on until I have a clear ok from the doc! ( guess I'm an over achiever by nature, but in this case it's not in a good way)
  9. I had surgery on 7/17 and i have been tolerating liquids no problem. I even have drank milk and started working on my protein. Today I was cooking for my family and I stole a few bites of fish that i chewed to almost nothing, and that also sat in my stomach no problem. I am wondering if I am pushing it too fast too soon?
  10. I was sleeved on the 17 too, my dr said to take it easy and do what I can the first few days. I would say don't stress it. I'm drinking as much water as possible. Day by day
  11. I had my surgery on tuesday, my doctor said if I am doing well on clear liquids then I can move on to liquids in general, like protein shakes and milk. I tried my first protein shake today and all went ok! Hopefully things keep going like this, i can't wait for pureed foods. I'm looking forward to a pureed crab meat slush....lol, but I know I have to wait a while for that!
  12. Surgery went well, I was out of it all day the first day but I've been getting better, went home yesterday and have been trying to take it easy. That's a little tough with my little ones. Tolerating clear liquids just fine, even tried a little protein shake which I held down just fine. Hope everyone is doing well
  13. In the hospital's waiting room, super nervous but excited to get started. Well wishes to all my fellow July 17th sleevers!
  14. I will def let you know how it goes, should be interesting since my two youngest have their birthdays coming up less then 3 weeks! good luck to you! see you on the other side, I would love to chat and share stories
  15. I am that height and weight now and I get sleeved tomorrow, I will keep pics posted in my profile if that helps any
  16. Yay! t minues 10 hours until I will arrive at the hospital as well! I feel the jitters too! can't believe the day is almost here! I hope we all have a speed recov time, and not too much throwing up
  17. Have to be at the hospital in less then 36 hours. Getting super super nervous. I know everyone goes through this, unfortunately I have the extra stress of a very ill mother and a marriage that is falling apart This two days of clear liquid only is driving me a nuts, but I'm sticking with it!! Best of luck to my fellow July sleevers!! Hopefully I'm not the only nervous one
  18. Hey just checking in, how was surgery? Hope all is well!
  19. I know how you feel, I went through the same thing....... did better today if you want the feel of something to chew on I found ice is a great sub, if you have some around
  20. Wow, holy typos! Hopefully everyone can get the idea
  21. I have been on them since Tuesday last week, but there hasn't been a day tgat i haven't had something else, like an egg or some tuna fish. Six shakes a day is a driving me crazy and then I feel guilty for eating anything. Please no judgment, I realize thus surgery is elective and I should be more focused on sticking to the shakes only. I see a lot of people talk about their preop diets, where they can eat food, so just wondering if anyone else out there was told to do the shakes only for 2 weeks before their surgery date. Hope everyone is having a great night
  22. I am getting sleeved July 17th. I have life insurance through work, otherwise I would be getting that as well not crazy at all, if god forbid anything were to happen to me I want my children to be set and financially ok.
  23. I understand your fears, I too have little ones, my youngest isn't even a year old. I know there are risks, but I also know that I need to do this. It's hard to stand by that however when I am writing out a living will ect ect I want to be prepared for anything but I expect to be fine. And in the end I will be a whole new momma for my kids thank being said, I still feel that rising fear every day that inches closer to surgery, I am thankful that I am not the only one!! best of luck to you, don't doubt yourself and why you started down this road in the first place
  24. it depends on the doctor and the hospital, there really is no easy answer for you on this one. I finished my classes on June 1st, I had to go back for a final clearance from the pulminologist. I got my medical clearance the middle of June, insurance approval a week later and then was told on July 2nd that my surgery had been scheduled for July 17th. I wish you the bast of luck!
