  1. Yes, my week 2 was pureed also. I didn't try the tuna until yesterday! I am not too sure about the Carnation Instant Breakfast due to calories and low protein compared to those specifically for weight loss surgery or heavy training. EAS products from Wal-Mart are highly recommended. Try that and see if you are still experiencing the hunger. Also, are you getting in all 64oz. of liquids each day? That should also help with hunger.
  2. Maybe not feelings of guilt as much as fear! Fear caused me to continually doubt the necessity of the surgery. I had to stay focused on the end result and not allow myself to get in the way of making the best decision for my life! I knew once it was all over I would be better than ever and 4 weeks post op tomorrow, better I am! You hang in there! No doubts! You will definitely be glad you did!
  3. Call that office every day until they can tell you for sure that they have submitted! You have every right to do so as a PAYING patient! Especially an insurance paying patient!
  4. I was weaned off of all 3 of my bp meds at 1 week post op due to bp being too low! Hopefully your bariatric clinic has a bariatrician who specializes in meds, and comorbidities.
  5. I can tell you that it normally has to be found medically necessary or a serious problem with the band. Not just the fact that you may not have lost enough weight. Just know that it is very hard to find anyone to accept Humana for weight loss surgery and especially for a revision, if they cover revisions at all. And yes, any good program is also going to make you go through their requirements the same as any new patient, unless you are considering using the same surgeon.
  6. I totally agree with lmp817! It is usually what you are eating and how fast you are eating. What do you mean by "hurts"? I was sleeved on May 3rd and have not had any pain since day 3 post op. I did eat some dry tuna that I thought for sure was gonna kill me...but otherwise have been feeling just fine. I eat really slow and anything soupy or super moist. As for being hungry, hardly ever! Are you getting all of your Protein in? Protein drinks (meal supplements) should help with the hunger, maybe even prevent it! If so, what type are you using and how are you using it?
  7. Praying all goes well for you both! Just know the first couple of days are a bit rough but it gets much better by the third day!
  8. CONGRATS! My husband actually had his a year prior to me having the sleeve procedure! We save so much money now! Lol...sharing a child's plate is fantastic. Hope you both have a speedy recovery. I was sleeved on May 3rd and am still adjusting.
  9. Yes! I am 5 days post op and also had hernia repair along with my new sleeve! It felt like a contraction to me? Today, I have felt it a lot less. I did lots of sugar free popsicles and Italian Ice (made with Splenda)! For warmth, I did lots of hot Crystal Light lemon aid and boy did it help. Use your pain meds! They really make a difference. I halved mine along with half of the nausea meds every 4 hours. Hope you're better soon!
  10. Glad to hear that you are doing better. I was sleeved on last Thursday May 3rd and returned to work on Monday May 7th! I work for a bariatric surgeons office at a desk, so they were not trying to hear it! Lol...thank God, so far, so good!

I am 5 days post op and I concur! Day 3 was like nothing ever happened compared to days 1 & 2!
  12. I am 5 days post-op and remember feeling the same way! It is absolutely normal and there are always risk involved in any surgery or procedure. I actually took a break from this forum in order to stick with my decision to change my life! I will say that making a good sound decision on your surgery team is super important! Make sure that you have your mind made up as to what the lifestyle change requires and you should be just fine! Good luck on making and sticking with your decision...either way! No Regrets...

Feeling any better today? I would suggest finding someone immediately to take over your care. As i'm sure you already know, that is the bad thing about going out of the country for any procedure. There are cost involved and many bariatric surgeons do not touch patients who have had surgery out of the country. It sounds like you may need to have an UGI Edoscopy though.
  14. Hang in there! It sounds like insurance is taking their precious time, as usual. You should definitely hear something from them by mid-week. If not, you can always call, call, call and then call them some more! It took my insurance about 4days to approve me, but I was really worried about whether they would or not as well. Now, I'm really nervous about surgery being less than a week away. Yikes!
  15. Do you take any medications? Just asking because many meds can slow or even hinder weight loss. I would definitely up the protein to about 100 grams daily.
  16. HI! My name is Lisa and I work for a weight loss surgery center. My husband just had the sleeve done 3 days ago and he is having a hard time. That's how found you guys and this helpful website. We had only a week to prepare for the actual surgery!! That in itself was trying. After surgery he experience severe nausea and alot of pain in his chest or esophagus. I can't get him to drink or attempt to "eat" anything hardly at all. I am really concerned, but hoping I am just overly concerned.
  17. I work for a weight loss surgery center and I have never heard of this happening, but my husband had the sleeve procedure done only 3 days ago and is complaining of severe pain as though his chest and/or esophagus is tightening. After surgery he did have to spend an extra night in the hospital due to not being able to keep ANYTHING down. Anyone have any similar symptoms?
