Don't be so hard on yourself!! One thing I know for sure, our body will lose this weight at it's on rate. We have to be sure that we are doing the right thing. I don't know about you, but I was not eating the right thing most if the time prior to surgery. That's how I got to where I am.
If I was to eat what/how I ate before, even in smaller amount, I would be in deep trouble lol!! I really want this surgery to work, so I made a total change. I use ( absolutely ) no oil in my cooking, I stay away from carbs and starches ( potato, rice, bread and such ). I always take in 80gr of protein or more. I drink no less than 64oz of water. I do not take use sugar ( or substitutes ). More importantly I exercised no less than 3x a week, from 45 mins-1hr
Keep a journal of what you eat for three days or so. Sounds like hard work but it's not. Just write down what you are about to eat, amount and time. Share it with your NUT and see what the NUT can change. That might do the trick.
Really hope your spirit is not down. You had a rough start but you can turn it all around. You can do this!!! We are all cheering for you:)
P.S 30lbs loss is still a loss, take pride in that:)

your stomach went through some major trauma during surgery! it needs time to heal. A liquid diet is the best thing at this point. No stress on your new stomach and on your fragile staple line. It will be over before you know it.
When I got annoyed with my liquids I just thought about the damage I could cause to my sleeve if I don't follow the rules. Since no food is worth a leak, infection, and my life I held on until it was the proper time to progress to solid food.
The time will come. Be patient:)

Since word is out, not much you can do about it. Don't provide any more details! Most people will not be content with knowing about the surgery. They are going to want details!! How much did it cost, how did it go, how much can you eat, what are you eating, and the big on: HOW MUCH DID YOU LOSE??? SAY NOTHING!! that will kill them on the inside, trust me lol!
Your boss took away your choice to keep this a secret, but you are in control from this point on. You got the time off that you needed, so forget about her. But from now on her and all the rest can only watch you get skinny but not be privilege to any more information.
I am so sorry you went through that, but you have control of your life again!! best of luck dear.

I got sleeved on Aug 20 and believe me I feel your pain , but you have to be focused on the overall purpose of the surgery. If you want great results you have to follow the diet . Look online and search various post -op diets and get helpful tips on what you can and cannot do. Every doctor has his own diet. Good Luck !!

hey, you will lose more weight on that stage than any other. and since you just had surgery and you have now cut 85% of your stomach off, that's why you have to do liquids for 14 days we all have done it..... believe me, i so totally understand. but this too shall pass. hang in there!

I have the same fears. I have been at my job longer, but I just know telling my boss that it will eventually get around the office. The fact that your boss only thinks of the negative (i.e. you missing work for surgery and not you potentially dying by being obese) just confirms that there is still a lot of stigma around this type of surgery. I'm so sorry that you have to go through it.
My suggestion is to let it go. Going to HR or talking to her about it will just make it worse, and right now you need to stay positive. If word gets out, it gets out - all you can do is be true to yourself, be honest and do what you need to do to secure your physical and mental health. The only opinion about your medical history that matters is yours and your Doctors. If your boss does anything to specifically call you out, that would be the time to involve HR. Otherwise, save yourself the stress, stay off the boss' radar and keep doing your job so you can get PAID. That's all that matters, bottom line, is that you do your job and that they pay you to do it.
Don't rock the boat. You have way more important things to deal with than someone elses prejudice. Be the example of how WLS is a positive thing.

" All of these comments from other people make me quite nervous. While I appreciate it, they feed into my insecurities.
" Now, I am just embarrassed about my weight. I’m embarrassed that I let myself go to such a level. I’m embarrassed to even discuss it. It’s almost as if I feel like I owe the world an apology for being so fat.'
I FEEL THAT WAY ALL THE TIME!!!!!!
I thought I was insane for feeling so horrible when people made comment about my weight loss so far. I will walk away feeling if you think I look great now that I have so much to lose HOW DID YOU THINK OF BEFORE? and some really go over board with the loud comments and don't realize this is a private matter/fight! I don't really need you announcing to the room that I am losing weight. Worse is when they openly ask me in a room full with people how much have I lost?!!!!! like really?!
