Finally...surgical Consult....too Many Questions?
Thank you! I am just going to print this off. There are a couple that I know the answer to because my surgeon meets with us in the beginning so I asked but the rest is awesome. And of course I will ask about ambien too. Irishmama gotta sleep!

Finally...surgical Consult....too Many Questions?
you could always record the convo on your phone and write in your answers later. When I try to write down what people are saying while I'm asking questions I get confused. That way you can review it all later.

S,uper Sweet Hubby
Yay for good husbands! Yes, I am worried he will hurt himself too. I go to the class tomorrow and he says he will start on Saturday. He has always been pretty slim but over the last few years about 30 pounds has crept on him so it would be great if he could lose that. When I used to join weight watchers every few months or so (LOL) he would join and drop like 10 pounds in a week when I would lose 3. So I'm sure that may be frustrating for me. But I also want him healthy.

Finally...surgical Consult....too Many Questions?
I feel like a dope. I only have 5 questions and two of them are about ambien. Okay, can you cut and paste your qs? Or at least give us your top 5. And by the way, your profile pic is very beautiful.

S,uper Sweet Hubby
I am one of the first people to rag on her hubby when he is being a jerk but i just wanted to say that my DH has decided to do the two week pre op with me. He will be drinking shakes and having sugarvfree approved snacks. He wants to see how much he can lose and wants to see how hard it really is. He already admits he knows he is weaker. So sweet! I think it will be great for us to walk together a little bit on this journey.

I wish my class on thursdaybwas just for sleevers. I just know a lot of it will be about bypass. The band people get their own class. Why cant we.

Got My Date---May 23
Thanks ladies! I am looking at it like this. I am done having kids, I am on my way to new health and I am determined to not need her for anything like this again. I just look at my beautiful daughter and think if she needed life saving surgery (and my mom does totally agree that this is) then there isn't anything I wouldn't do to help her.

Anticipating A Denial
Funny you should mention that because I just got approved! Yay! My class is Thursday and my surgery is May 23. Whoot! Whoot!

Got My Date---May 23
Now my mom is giving me grief about the surgery being when it is. Seems that while I have been waiting to hear she has been making tons of plans as if this was never going to happen. With three small children I need her help and she will be a big help but she always has to be the martyr for this kind of stuff. When she was caring for her dying mother I could never get a status update on my grandmother without 25 minutes of how hard my mom has worked. And that's fine. Caring for an ill or dying family member is work. But it burns me up to know that as relatives call to ask how I am she will go on and on about how hard it is to watch my three kids for a week and how she had to drop all of these plans to come help. Grrrr.

Got My Date---May 23
Thank you! I have to go to a NUT class on May 3rd all afternoon. Of course it is the afternoon of a night I work but that's okay. It is important and I will figure it out.

Got My Date---May 23
Still waiting for final approval from insurance but the surgeon has given me a date. I'm so excited. It is the last day of school for my kids and my mom will be able to come and help. That is huge! It is also far enough in advance from my beach trip on June 20. So excited! Any sleeve sisters and brothers on May 23?

Working While On The Liquid Diet Before Surgery
Supportive coworkers, that must be nice. Actually the nurses I work with are very supportive. It is the techs that do not help at all and they are the ones who are supposed to get my c-sections out of bed and take my vag deliveries to the bathroom the first time after I have assessed them. We will see.

Working While On The Liquid Diet Before Surgery
12 days post op! Good Lord. I was hoping for three full weeks. And then only working in the nursery. Yes, message me anytime. I think I need to call my surgeon. He gave 3-4 weeks for my co-workers but they all had bypass. Maybe this is less. Hmmm. I teach childbirth and was hoping to only take one week off for that.

Just Started My 6Mo. Diet
I'm just finished mine. My advice is to set small realistic monthly goals. I just figured I would lose it all at the end and I came up short of having a great weightloss. I was only down 10 pounds (although I gained and lost the same 5 for the whole time). Good luck!

Working While On The Liquid Diet Before Surgery
I work 12 hour shifts overnight and I start to feel weak after so many hours. It is funny though because I'm not actually tired like I used to feel after we would order Steak-out or go to the 24 hour cafeteria for burgers and cheese fries. Now, I feel great but just weak. Like I can tell that I am not gripping things as tightly and if I am trying to get a surgical patient up for the first time my legs start to shake. That may also be from increased workout.

Anticipating A Denial
Good luck to all of you. I hate this for each of you. Wish we lived in a world where doctors in accordance with their patients made medical decisions, not insurance companies trying to gamble the monetary odds of our lives. My paperwork got its final document on Friday. Should get sent off first thing Monday morning. I woke up in a panic last night that the nurse put it in for the bypass code instead if sleeve so I will call at 8 am just to verify the right code is used.

Protien Shakes The Good The Bad The Ugly
Just bought two big sample pouches that I will start on Sunday. I love injury chicken soup and chocolate splendor. I hate the GNC lean but many have replied that they like it. My NUT says that EAS ready to drink is misleading. She explains it well but it's something about the amino acids not being in the right combination so you only get 11 grams of protein instead of what's listed. That may be why someone suggested adding a scoop of unflavored.

Could Cry Right Now
The surgeon's office closes at noon. So now during my sleeping time on Monday I get to deal with this again.
