  1. Wow, we never discussed things but we have quite a bit in common. I have a son that is 16 ( I had him at 15) and a daughter that is 3. Because of complications during child birth, I was told that I shouldn't have anymore kids but I want a shot at doing it the right way. I want to be excited and have a husband that is excited and enjoy the pregnancy.

I know the time is dragging and at this point, I think I know what I need to know. By the time you have your surgery, half of these people will not be on here but I will.

    hugs!

  2. Cool, I am going to keep an eye out for it. I plan on starting to replace 1 meal by the end of the week and then replacing 2 meals in January.

It is amazing how this surgery helped boost my motivation to lose weight before going under the knife. I think its because we know that there is a great chance that we weill not regain this time around.

  3. I didn't know they had a muscle milk lite! I may have to try that because the original was too sweet for me. I do like the Atkins shakes - I am planning on starting with those since I know they are ok.

I admire your motivation! Keep up the great work. You will be at 230 in no time..

  4. I had to take the shots after having my c-section. I had a blood clot in my arm and had to take Lovenox for an entire month!

I couldn't give it to myself so my mother did it for me. She was instructed by the nurse in the hospital to pinch some of my belly and stick that. It is not bad at all. Depending on your complexion, you may have bruising or a little soreness for a few minutes. Maybe you can have a nurse show your husband?

  5. Be careful with bringing snacks in as well if you are a snacker. I have to limit what I bring inbecause if I bring in 3 days worth of snacks, I can eat it in 2. I leave oatmeal (with less sugar) packets and sugar free applesauce. These are my least favorite snacks so I am less tempted to eat them all in one day.

  6. For myself, my goal is to be under 300lbs as well before my surgery 2/21. I am starting slowly - making more conscious efforts to substitute the horrible foods I love with the healthier foods I love. I also started strength training and will continue that well after my surgery.

Part of my worries is regaining the weight afterwards. I feel that self control is a strength that we have to build/ exercise to see its full potential so why not start now?

  7. BCBS is funny - it really depends on the state you are in and whether your company decides to cut the cost of insurance for everyone by excluding all WLSs.

There are options.. You may be able to get it done by the end of the year.

The same thing happened to me last year - I scheduled my surgery for January 30th 2012 and my company was acquired last December. My new policy excluded all WLSs so I decided to postpone it until 2/21/2013 and pay for it myself.

I hope things work out for you!
