  1. Have you tried GasX nurse told me to try it as I left the hospital with gas pain. I also took previcid 20mg. and had to take gasx with my meals and bedtime for a while. I still take gasx if I have a spicy or gassy food!
  2. I liked the muscle milk light vanilla creme I get it at Costco it is not as heavy n thick. The choclate ones seem to give me indigestion. Hope you find one you like this phase will be over soon. Good luck!
  3. Im thinking you might be up all night with gas pains!! might be a better idea to save that 4 a healthier time when tummy is healed!
  4. I mixed 1/2 water and 1/2 apple juice keep it by me and sipped it all day seemed to stay down well and gave me a few carbs which I needed since I was a diabetic. Good Luck!
  5. This doesn't happen to sleevers as often as bypass people but it is caused by to much high glycemic food (to many carbohydrates) also can have shakiness, palpitaitons, fatique and light headedness. Take care!
  6. Have you talked to your surgeon? I am taking a pill which is suppose to break up any stones that try to form since I had my surgery may be to late but worth a try. Good Luck!
  7. I read on here a person said they had 1C. now and they were 18mo. ate everything but just a little I am bout 15weeks and can eat most anything if its not a healthy good thing I keep it to one or 2 bites that usually satisfies. I have not tried rice, pasta, and bread except for a bite they all have too many carbs and not very nutritious. First protien, veg. then carbs that seems to be the lifestyle now but it feels so good when you step on the scale!
  8. decaf does have a small amt. caffiene its more mental than anything makes me feel I am back to normal! I just enjoy sitting on the patio early in the AM especially now that I get up much earlier since the sleeve.
  9. Probably nothing wrong if your eating maybe 1/4 cup at meals I imagine its liquids and getting as much liquids as possible probably not 64oz but trying to get close you know with the small amt. your eating you will loose the weight. Sometimes the body needs time to adjust It thinks you are starving and will not give it up easily but next week I bet it will be a quick drop thats what happens to most. Just put the scale away for a week or two relax and let it happen. Good luck!! Remember our motto always be sipping!
  10. Head hunger is the worst I will open the frig. at least 10 times a day and think I'm not even hungry! I found a Nature Valley Protien bar at Costco it a peanut butter dark choclate bar has 10gm protien and 14carbs with peanuts and crunchies tastes too good to be healthy I eat half in afternoon and half after dinner cause of course I always need dessert after dinner!!
  11. At 3 months out I decided to have coffee again I always enjoyed 2 or three cups in the AM. I had it twice that week followed by tummy ache. Decided to stick to decaf which works OK. At 14 weeks I tried again my nofat sugar free vanilla Latte! Followed in the afternoon with grumbly tummy ache guess I better stick with decaf! Tummy doesn't like caffiene anymore. Maybe I will try in 3 more months?
  12. I too suck at math but I have been doing this for 13 plus weeks and I have discovered the body does not give it up easy I may stay the same for days/weeks then all of a sudden drop 2 or more lbs. and I do know muscle weighs more than fat so jus keep workin n put the scale away for a while! good luck
  13. Everyone is different mine was high right after surgery stress and pain can causes a climb in blood sugar Im sure you know! but after a few days mine settled down and when I left hospital it was not high enough to need medicine at home. Try and relax and let it happen you are eating so little calorie wise you know it will come down. I am 3 months out and have not needed meds. Good luck to you!
  14. I have cooked cereal most mornings made with soy or milk for extra protien and I found a can of beneprotein at walmart it has 6gms in a sm. scoop mixes with hot or cold I put it in my cereal, soups etc. it has no taste. I ate a lota beans n cheese the little things help are you able to eat protein bars? some brands are tasty too. Good luck
  15. Gas pains cause the growling pain the Nurse told me to get GasX I had to take it after each meal and bedtime for a while along with the prilosec 40mg in AM. Good luck!
  16. Fluids are most important try mixing 1/2 apple juice and 1/2 water keep it by you and sip it I couldn't drink real cold drinks for awhile but everyone is different. How about popsicles and jello all are fluids. This won't last long don't worry about the nutritional part we all can live a little while off what we have stored up in our body.
  17. I was told with each stage of my diet not to eat more than 1/3C. at each meal so I use a measuring cup after a while you can visualize it when you are out eating. Stay away from rice, pasta, and breads they don't digest well and they are empty calories anyway. eat protien first then veg. then fruit Good luck!
  18. When I was on liquids I was told I could have flat soda if it has no sugar or caffiene you may not be as bad as you believe! If you just have it as a treat maybe your are not as bad as you believe! HaHa
  19. I think staying with the items you mentioned that will stay down is probably best to stay with for another day before trying anything else. Many people are affected for a while by anesthetic my husband has always thrown up for a couple days after anesthetics. Im sure it will pass soon!
  20. My drs. group didn't recomend them either but reading about hair loss made me want to get at least 60gm protien which is impossible at first just can't eat enough. I at first drank 2 a day but now I only drink one I told the nut. that the muscle milk I bought is only 100 cal. with 20gm protien and 6 gm. carb. since I have been loosing well she said OK just keep doing what I'm doing. (Iwould have anyway want to keep hair and muscle!)
  21. I get up early and have usually cooked cereal or egg then at 10ish I have a protein drink I also have a snack in the mid afternoon protein drink or bar or peanut butter n banana it was my habit before sleeve due to diabetic diet and works well now I just eat a lot less.I don't feel hungry in my tummy but I do have head hunger which is harder to control! Good luck
  22. I had to do that to my primary Doc sent me to nutritionist and they were nice and informative and at the end of it they had classes on the after surgery diets it was interesting. Yes I hated it counting calories etc. If I was good at this type of diet I wouldn't need surgery! I don't think I was required to loose that much in the 6mo. I just had to put in the effort so I didn't have to pay cash. The time will pass soon. Good Luck
  23. I was told to use gasX which I took at first after each meal and bedtime. I still take it almost daily since surgery especially if I have refried beans or something a little spicy it really helps me. I am 12+ weeks and I feel pretty normal my stomach gets a little noisy sometimes but no more pain. I can eat what I want not as much and thats OK cause I'm not the heaviest person in the room! Keep plugging away this will pass soon.
  24. I hope the 15oz is not including your liquid meals cause that it not near enough you need to get close to 64oz daily. Do not let yourself get dehydrated it is the worst pain!If your not still taking pain meds maybe try tylenol liquid for pain to help the pain when drinking keep a water bottle with you at all times If your tired of plain water add crystal light in the bottle. I had gas bad before leaving hospital nurse said to get gasX which I took after meals and bedtime for a while and it really helped. At least this phase will be over soon! Good luck! just keep sipping!
  25. You lost 20lbs in a month thats not bad. Have you tried cutting back on carbs they have always affected my weight loss. I am at the lower BMI I lost 20 at first and only lost about 10 per month. but much more than I was before sleeve. Some of us just have to be more patient!!
