  1. Good luck and hang in there. I hit the three-month mark as reqd by my insurance only to have a required cardiac clearance add two months to my timeline! I was hoping for late July now it looks like my WLS will be in September.
  2. I'm reading it right now. I agree with you. Very timely and very true.
  3. MY doctor recommends 3 weeks off, plus two nights in the hospital. And that's for those of us with desk jobs!
  4. Congratulations on your successful surgery and good luck in the coming months.
  5. Oooga-booga, oooga- booga! Sending good vibes your way. ????
  6. My nutritionist says no caffeine for the first two weeks after surgery but that decaf is fine.
  7. Thanks. I guess I just needed to hear that. ????
  8. Good I completed my three months of nut visits on Thursday and Friday got my sleep apnea paperwork sent to the surgeon. Bad news -- I also saw a cardiologist on Friday I need a stress test before I can be cleared. Between that and the card's follow up appt which isn't until mid July. I cannot schedule my surgeon appt nor the surgery until after mid-July! Which means no surgery until late August or even september ! Arrggh. I know the surgery needs to be safe but I am so disappointed by the delay.
  9. Good luck and may you have a speedy recovery.
  10. Me! Am hoping for July but expect my date to be in August in Baltimore. I finish all my required nut and medical appts this week.
  11. Me, too, kczar. This Thursday will be the third of three required nut visits. On Friday I hope to get my cardiac clearance. And then be scheduled for my next surgeon consult and then a surgery date! July or August for me!
  12. I hear you loud and clear. I have my third of three months nut visits next week and hope to get a surgery date soon. Good luck.
  13. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you.
  14. While I had lots of blood work, too. The tech who did my ultrasound told me I did not have a fatty liver. About fifty percent of all obese people do so it's very common to require a presurgery diet to shrink your liver some.
  15. So glad it went well.
  16. Good luck and see you on the losers bench really soon!

I have BCBS Fep also. I guess the weight history depends on how it is reported. The ins. Company wants to see you have been obese for at least two years. If your weight has been normal within the past two years you might have a problem getting approved. Sorry. Maybe you should talk to your pcp about which amounts to document.
  18. Went to my second Nut appt back on the tenth. Two other people attended who were also planning on WLS. The nut handed out some protein shake samples and talked about the preop and initial liquid diets right after surgery. One of the guys didn't have a clue about how his food intake would change after WLS. He thought the protein shakes -- the very idea of needing them--was ridiculous. He kept criticizing the nut info. It was clear to me he didn't know what he was getting in to. I was amazed at his naïveté and ignorance. It made me realize how lucky I am to have found this site. Thank you everyone for helping me to know what I am getting in to!

  20. Congrats on your successful surgery and best of luck going home soon.
  21. Great job. And you look marvelous!
  22. That's fantastic! Congrats to you on your accomplishment.
  23. My 35th hs class reunion is in Sep 2013. I can't wait to be there and not be the fat girl.
  24. I can only repeat what everyone else has said. Thank God you have survived this long ordeal. I hope the sleeve works out for you and gives you a new and healthier start to living again.
  25. Congratulations and the best of luck, Lisa.
