Why Am I Gaining Weight? I Had Wls To Lose Weight Not To Gain. Feeling Really Down.
Your prob just fluctuating because of your TOM. I know I can easily fluctuate 5 pounds I the same day period or not. I wouldn't stress it to much at this point. If you continue to see the scale go up, then talk to your doctor or nut.

Depressed :-(
It does get better. What I do when I go to a cookout is take some shrimps on a skewer. It's Awsome source of protein and goes down super easy. It's also something that you can play with.

What To Expect From The *peer To Peer* ... Cigna Insurance
Well I've seen a lot of denials and hardly ever have I seen a doctor do a peer to peer. Usually if he has a PA he/she would be able to do it. Have you considered getting a new surgeon and having them resubmit the request. I also appealed my denial, and it really didn't get me anywhere. So I totally know how you feel. When it comes to insurance issues most doctors don't care to bother with it.

What To Expect From The *peer To Peer* ... Cigna Insurance
I've never had one, but I do work in healthcAre and I am familiar with a peer to peer. I can tell you that your surgeon prob doesn't want to do it. Unless there is some medical documentation that he didn't submit with the request it is pretty pointless. Can I asked why they denied you?

Tired?
I am also about 4 months post op. I also get really tired. I do take my vitimins, and 60g of protein. However for the last few days I have been trying to get 75g of protein, hopefully that helps. I also think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm consuming 800 calories a day, that's such a small number of calories for our bodies to run on. So I've been aware of that and really trying consume only the best, ie leanest meats, veggies, and fresh fruits (which we should be doing anyways).

How Do I Ask My Insurance Company...
Yes, most insurance companies will cover panniculectomy. I would call and ask if you have coverage for the procedure and ask what the requirements are.. Getting approval for this procedure can be tricky. You usually have to prove that the extra skin is causing medical issues, such as rashes, ect. Good luck and let us know what they tell you.

Did I Get Super Big Sleeve? How Many Calories
Hello there I am 4 months post op and I usually eat about 800 calories a day. I'm sure I could consume more if I made bad choices in food. The thing I would ask you is 900-1600 that is a huge range. Usually people have a range of 100-200 calories. What is it that is causing you to have such a difference in calorie intake?? You say you are not eating breads, which is good, but are you consuming high calorie proteins?? I try to focus on having lean protein which is usually lower in calories. Are you on mfp?? I would like to know what your daily consumption is. I found myself eating a lot of cheese, which can be high calorie, so Iimit my cheese intake.

Mixed Messages
I work in healthcare, first the date your surgeons office submitted could have just been tentative, as many companies require a date in order review a request. As far as uhc, their c/s reps are all over the place. When I have to call them, and if I get someone whose an @ss or just sounds dumb, I hang up and call right back. So call back again today and hopefully you'll get a rep that is more helpful.

6 Month Diet
You should make sure they weigh you once a month. Also I was denied my first time, because I said that I had went out to eat 2x in a month. They took that as me not being compliant with my diet, so just be sure to not say anything to sabatoge your chances.

My Hubby Keeps Eating My Food!
My 14 year old son always drinks my protein drinks. Which is the one thing I cringe at sharing. I buy the ready make drinks so it's $6 for 4 of them, so they dont come cheap. So I hide them, they do not have to be kept in the fridge. So before I go to bed I put one drink in the fridge and take it in the morning. As far as string cheese I just uh them for everyone. As far as yogurt I buy activia for me and buy the one with cookies for my son, his yogurt looks so much better than mine, so it works. Good luck....

Fat Clothes Sure Take A Beating!
I'm down about 70 pounds. And I just realized not only was I abusing my body, but damn my poor clothes took a beating. Trying to squeeze into something that is tight as he!!, stretching shirts out, trying not to dry my jeans so they wouldn't shrink, and forget about the chub rub on my pants. I'm just now going down a size, it's not because I haven't lost enough weight, it's because I was always in denial trying to wear clothes that didn't fit properly. Needless to say I am enjoying wearing my clothes, especially now that they fit appropriately.

Is This Rate Of Weight Loss Normal For A Guy?
Not a man here, but I'll chime in. Your weight loss is great, I personally lost the most weight the first 3-4 weeks post op. after that my weight loss tends to be 1.5-2 pounds a week. As far at the guy you used to work with, don't freak your self out like that, trust me we could all drive our selves crazy with what if's and could of's would of's and should of's. This is your journey and it is unique to you. That other person could have had some serious medical conditions, and his death may have had nothing to do with his weight/loss. Just be confident that you are doing all you can for your health. Good luck.
