  1. You look great congrats!!!
  2. As far as the Acohol thing, I was in that situation, and as soon as we arrived at the the bar I went straight to the bathroom, and then I stopped at the bar on the way out and ordered a cranberry juice with heavy ice and a lime. No one questioned me.
  3. I went thru that phase, I was eating about every 2 hours, considering that your consuming such a small amount, I don't think it's much of a problem. I'm assuming your not on a full diet yet, Once your on a full diet consuming proteins will fill you up more and for longer times.
  4. Don't beat yourself up. Your journey is not complete, you are getting there at your body's pace. On the bright side, you prob won't have severe skin issues. Feel proud of every damn pound lost, because it's gone forever and not coming back. Start monitoring your food and protein intake, and be happy with the peace of mind that you are doing all you can. Best of luck to you!!!
  5. I would get one. I've only flown into Mexico, but every time you need the passport, more for getting back into the country that the other way around.
  6. I work in healthcare and deal all day with insurance. Pre-existing clause does not consider if you have had prior coverage. I would start the 6 month pcp diet, just because your new insurance eis saying that you only need prior authorization, does not mean that you dont need the diet. When they do authorizations they follow a list of recommended guidelines for the certain procedure, most insurances request weight and diet history. I would do it just to be on the safe side. If I had to guess I'd say about 80% of insurances will not approve bariatric surgery with out supervised diet history.
  7. Hmmm.... First I would make sure that the new insurance doesn't have a pre-existing clause. As long as it doesn't and the deductable and out of pocket expenses are not a issue, I would go for it.
  8. Looking good. Hope your able to get back on track with your other health issues..
  9. Please do not freak out about 2 pounds. It is very natural for our bodies to fluctuate throughout the day. I personally have a fluctuation of 5 pounds at any given time. You could have possibly just weighed yourself at a bad time. My advise is if you know you get all hung up on the numbers, don't weigh your self so often. I know it's hard but the last thing you want to do is become a slave to the scale. Good luck.
  10. Cheri I am with you on this one. I'm all about moderation, now this is not the old pre-sleeve moderation it's my new sleeve moderation. If I go to a party I dont want to ban myself from eatting a piece of cake. I want to say 95% of the time I am on my strict sleeve diet. However I feel it is unrealistic to think that I can deprive myself of foods that I enjoy. To those who can live the rest of their lives without ever eating a piece of cake, hey more power to you. But realistically that's not for me. I think it's all about finding what's right for you. If moderation means its going to take me an extra month or two to get to goal, I'm fine with that. Also I feel a big part of moderation is making myself accountable, I do this via MFP. Which has been a greAt tool for me.
  11. I'd like to add why do you feel the need to determine your goal weight now?? I say go for the 170 and reevaluate once you get there. Good luck to you.
  12. Good work, keep it up!!!
  13. Congrats on getting your day. Aug 20th less than a month away. It will be here before you know it.
  14. I didn't have my procedure in Mexico, however I did go with a friend while he had his procedure. I can tell you, my visit was mostly tending to my friend, we took little strolls to the plaza and did some light shopping, but he did get tired quickly. I did venture out on my own once or twice for a short time. But my main focus was my friends well being. So ultimately do I count that as a vacation, nope not at all. However it did put my friends family at ease knowing that I was with him and I did call/text updates.
  15. I would say yes this is the healing process. I would suggest gradually increasing your food amounts. I notice with my sleeve I occasionally evaluating what I eat as well as how much and how often. Good luck. Thisay be a good time to incorporate some protein rich snacks.
  16. Congrats. It will be one of many nsv to come...
  17. I'm already 4 months post op, and I always do this. I email myself pictures of hairstyles. I have downloaded apps for Macy's, gap, banana republic, Nordstrom, and express. I am always browsing the. And checking out new styles. I've gone down a few sizes, and I'm no longer in plus size clothes, I'm in a tight 16, off the rack non plus size (yeah). However I still want to wait until I get closer to goal to buy some rockin clothes. I'm just now talking my self out of buying a new pricey winter and fall coat, because next winter they prob won't fit me, so I've come to terms that I should just wear my old costs, that were to tight on me prior to my sleeve. But hey now that the coats fit properly they really do look new...
  18. Good luck to you. I know it's goin to be emotionally hard not having your husband with you. On the bright side can you imagine how thrilled he is going to be when he does see you is person. Just try to focus on the positive aspects. We are all here whenever you need to rant and rave. Best wishes.
  19. Good luck and a speedy recovery!!!
  20. I like to eat meat and protein, such as picadillo (Mexican dish with veggies, potatoes, and ground beef) I like to make a lot of stews with meat and salsa and I will throw in some veggies. I eat meatballs with spaghetti sauce, shrimp with alfredo sauce.
