  1. I didn't introduce any spicy liquids during my 21 days post-op but once I started soft foods I did make my homemade spaghetti sauce which is spicy and meatballs and I tolerated it just fine. I have had a few other spicy things and had no problems. My NUT didn't have any restrictions on spices only carbs - lol!
  2. Liquids don't take that long, but I am guessing you have figured this out by now
  3. I too was told by my surgeon if I wanted to guarantee the diabetes would be reversed the RNY is the way he would recommend. He didn't try to force it on me he just stated that it would definitely be reversed with that surgery. He agreed that the results could be the same with the sleeve but no guarantees. He also agreed that if the VSG did not bring me the results I wanted I had not eliminated the RNY by doing the VSG first. Well it has been 1 month since I was sleeved and the most awesome outcome so far with my surgery is that I have not had to take any diabetic medications or high blood pressure meds since my surgery which is just freaking cool!! (I was on 3 for the diabetes and 2 for the blood pressure!) I have logged all my blood sugar results twice a day for my surgeon and he was tickled pink with the numbers yesterday at my appointment. Just wanted to say I am extremely happy with my decision to proceed with VSG surgery!! I know everyone is different but I hope you have the same results. God Bless!!
  4. Runny mashed potatoes and a part of a fried egg was awesome!
  5. I bet if you call the hospital and talk to the nursing staff they can tell you. Not sure if you are suppose to take that with the pain meds.
  6. Who did you use in Mexico and cost comparison please to what she just quoted for the U.S.? If you don't mind sharing this information.
  7. Exactly my thoughts! You look fabulous!! Great job!
  8. Yeah, but they also have 4 carbs each so if you are counting carbs maybe that factors in? LOL - better than a snickers bar for sure!
  9. So how are you doing now? Did you see the doctor?

  11. What an awesome testimony!! Congrats on your surgery date and my prayers will be that God will guide your surgeon's hands and instruments. Please let us know when you get back and provide us updates!!
  12. Awesome! Congrats on your date!! Now when the family questions you on why you are only eating just a little bit - you can tell them "I have decided to take your advice and just push away from the table!" LOL - it won't be a lie and they will think they had the right answers all along! Good luck and I will be praying God will guide your surgeons hands and instruments!
  13. I was told I was okay to take my pills as normal. Haven't had any problems so far. It's just quite awesome that I am taking 5 less then I was before! Whoo hoo!
  14. Yep, 10 lbs for me for the 1st 2 months as well. I am 1 month out now and my largest incision doesn't really bother me much anymore.
  15. I had a 2 week pre-op diet with 2 shakes a day and a small meal with 3 oz lean Protein and vegetables prepared with no extra fat - lost 13 lbs during that 2 weeks and my surgeon loved my liver! LOL - Congrats on your date!!!
