  1. Your experience sounds almost identical to mine!! I asked my doctor's PA if I was a placebo surgery! LOL
  2. Congrats!! Me too! 19lbs since surgery date.
  3. No telling what is going on, maybe an emergency. Sit back and relax! Don't get your body all stressed out before your new sleevie arrives!! Congrats!!
  4. Wow, 80 pounds since January 12 is amazing!! Keep it up Mr. Worm!
  5. I was able to bring my own unit to the hospital, but the hospital does have their own units and probably prefer to use them. The mask and hose are personal since you are breathing in and out of them so instead of supplying you with one they will have to throw away they let you use your own?? That would be my guess anyway. Good luck in surgery!!
  6. As I diabetic I am very familiar with low blood sugar in the middle of the night. It sounds like it could have been that, but a better choice would be to buy some glucose tablets (Walmart sells them around the pharmacy area) and keep them by your bed. A couple of them and within minutes you will start to feel better.
  7. Imagine the pain if they had to cut a whole lot more area to open you up and do the surgery? It will be over soon! Mine are still tender on occasion.
  8. Whoo hoo! Almost there!! My liquid diet was 2 weeks and consisted of Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch and a small meal with vegetables and 3 oz of protein for dinner. Snacks could only be SF Jello or SF popsicles. If I got too b*tchy I could have some bullion. (I had bullion!) But all surgeons are different it seems. I do use chewable Vitamins but have been taking pills since the day after surgery in the hospital and the ones my surgeon prescribed for stomach acid and gallstone prevention are capsules, but I also take a pill I was taking before surgery. Again, each surgeon is different.
  9. Congrats!! Hope your surgery is scheduled for soon! Yeah once that approval comes in - it's FOR REALS!!
  10. Thanks, for coming to this conclusion because your posts have helped me out extremely. I am still new with all of this and rely on the experiences of some veterans to know what I might be able to expect in the future. Some people just love to argue even if they have to type it out! LOL -
  11. Congrats Kimmy - right there with you!!
  12. MoogleQueen & BuBsmama Congrats girls!! Praying all goes smoothly and you are up walking, walking and walking those hallways!! God bless!
  13. Congrats and may the Lord guide your surgeon's hands and instruments!
  14. Good luck and safe travels. Sending prayers up for you!
  15. I have BCBS of Texas Anthem and they only required 1 Psych visit and 1 Dietician visit!
