Cpap Mask

I was leaving a mandatory bariatric surgery support group and was told when I go in for surgery I have to bring the mask and tube and that's it..not the machine itself..can anyone tell me the reason for not the machine to?

I was able to bring my own unit to the hospital, but the hospital does have their own units and probably prefer to use them. The mask and hose are personal since you are breathing in and out of them so instead of supplying you with one they will have to throw away they let you use your own?? That would be my guess anyway. :D

Good luck in surgery!!

This is exactly what I am going to ask the hospital when they give me my surgery time tomorrow. I like the idea of just bringing the mask instead of the whole thing. I hope that is the case.

I was told the hospital uses their own machines.

I was told to bring all of my supplies including my CPAP machine so every hospital may be different. Plus your machine is set to your body. When I travel I bring my machine so it is no big deal to bring it to the hospital.
