  1. Wow - I wish my doctor office had that....I would be interested if the price was affordable. That is my biggest fear since my insurance won't cover anything weight loss...I am sure they won't cover a revision if one is needed.
  2. Lol...that is so true!
  3. Good Idea...I paid a compound pharmacy to make my metformin and pain meds after surgery into liquid....but I didn't think about just grinding it myself. They aren't time release so I should be good.
  4. Thank you...I will update as soon as they let me know either way.
  5. You are right...at least its not next week! I read on one of these posts that you have to take everything off...I wonder what happens in that case. Also - just wondering if loosing weight quickly will wreck havoc on TOM? Hadn't thought about that til now.
  6. I haven't been banded yet..but wondered who you are supposed to swallow pills if you can't gulp?
  7. Okay - against my own advice I did mention it to the doc's nurse and she said she didn't see any harm in having the mammogram and ultrasound done the week I am already off. Whew...I was worried they would postpone. The results are instant...however they have a stupid rule that they cannot give the results directly to the patient...but give them to the doctor. So my surgery is on 4/3, mammogram & ultrasound 4/5 and results 4/6. That will be a tough 24 hours....but i am sure the band will keep my mind off of it.
  8. Good luck! Keep us posted of your progress and let us know how your doing when you can.
  9. Thanks Jayeedee - its good to have some research behind it. So it's official...I will weigh daily if I want but only record once a week. Most likely Fridays.
  10. thank you Ready...I am sure it will be okay. I'm still going forward with the surgery....looking forward to it.
  11. Thanks guys...I am starting to see that I am not the only one who does this. Maybe I am normal after all
  12. I had my well woman visit and they found a lump in my right breast. They want me to go in and get a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound done on it. I have scheduled that the week that I am off for the surgery....now my parents who were a little negative about the surgery to begin with are using this to fuel their fire. They think I should wait until after my tests to make sure it isn't something serious before surgery. I personally think it may just be a cyst, since breast cancer doesn't run in my family, and that I don't want to delay getting the surgery. Plus if it is something more serious I am sure that me getting in good shape and eating healthy will be something the doc will require anyway. I know I am rambling on and on...but needed to vent...
  13. Woohooo!!!! Good deal!
  14. Good Idea...then I can stay accountable as some of the other ladies suggested but only count the weekly weigh-in
  15. I think that I would drive myself crazy with it too. But I am concerned about waiting a month to weigh-in. Maybe I will have my poor hubby hide the scale and bring it out once a week for a weigh-in at home. hmmm...still need to work on this plan. I just know how obsessive I get with it.
  16. just read this...only 7 more days now....is it feeling even more real?!?!?! So exciting!
  17. I track on lose it.com....I will have to check out my fitness pal. Thanks!
  18. I would love to hear about weighing habits from everyone. I am one of those people that weigh every morning and often get discouraged if I see an increase or if the scale doesn't move. I am thinking about asking my husband to hide my scale and just weigh at the doctor's office every month. I might go through withdrawals. What do you do?
  19. clear liquids for 48 hours after then full liquids until post op visit (day10) then doc will clear for solids. Kind of quicker than others. But first fill is in 3 weeks.
  20. I bought liquid ones at the "Vitamin Store" not sure if you have one in your area. I think they were about $10. I am pre-op as well. They don't taste all that great....but since its liquid it goes down quick.
  21. I'm afraid of dying - just updated my will. I'm afraid of failing at this...like every other thing I have tried. I'm afraid of complications that will make me have to remove the band and then I can't afford a revision surgery. I'm afraid of being laid off and not being able to afford the payments for this surgery. Lastly - I am afraid of spiders!!!!
  22. How much biotin is recommended per day?
  23. I think i would go with a Hernia as well. It's not a MAJOR health issue has all of the same recovery symptoms.
  24. I also wanted to mention that there is a product called Biotene. They make gum, toothpaste and mouthwash. Walmart sells it as I am sure drug store do as well. It is for a dry mouth and to prevent bad breath. When I go low carb - i notice that my mouth is kind of dry...maybe its the ketosis. This product helps with that. 25. Yikes - I never thought about anyone being able to see it...that's got to be weird to feel it. I'm afraid that I might get eked out.
