  2. i am one who weighs at my monthly dr follow ups it works for me and keeps me honest...i go by how my clothes are getting looser.. keep reading because you are gonna hear many who weigh and why it works for them
  3. i must be from another planet, because i did not freak out i went through alot to get this surgery and i was like bring it on... i saw as a rebirth and a new me and me getting a chance to walk again... congrats on your upcoming surgery
  4. eating with my hub, and seeing him drink so much....i am like, no wonder you eat so much the sh** just slides on through...i use to do that also now, i drink right up to eating and wait 30 min after..
  5. oh pumpkin...i wish i knew what to say to help more.. you need to have your reg dr refer you for surgery they need to let tricare know you need help that is how i started.....i found a lap band dr who accepted tricare had my dr refer them to tricare and then i went from there my bmi was very high but no other issues (other then sleep apnea but i was aready approved for surgery by the time the lap band clinic wanted me to have a sleep test) dont give up
  6. cant speak for your dr but if you are losing, and you are, sounds like you are doing great.. a loss is a loss
  7. only you know if you are ready. if you go into this thinking the band is a miracle and you can continue past eating habits, you maybe in for a surprise...you have to change what you eat, how you eat, exercise and have a huge mental change from cant to can. read some posts on here by successful people, read their journeys. B52, missy floridays, jean mcmillian, aj, alex b (LBT founder) and countless others and see it can be done..it can be done if you want it i look forward to reading your journey.
  8. mine told me 70+ per day i do drink a protein shake every morning because it tastes good and because i like knowing..i have some protein in me...i know that protein helps me feel full and keeps me full between meals...each dr and patient is different so its best to refer to your dr...
  9. well. i was gassy and was #2 queen but def not in discomfort you are posting..that being said, the advice to call your dr is accurate...but until you can get in to see them monday, how about walking, sipping your liquids to stay hydrated...that should help but def try not to throw up..if you eat or drink too fast, that could/can make you feel as if you have throw up..so go slow
  10. 7 months ago, i was 336 pounds i wanted to stop it....so i had surgery and followed the rules ever since... why? because i wanted to...so i have battled obesity also. find the reasons you can instead of why you cant..
  11. well eating bad foods is what made us need wls in the first place...testing your limits is foolish and it really gets you no where...as zin said, eat your allotted amounts, make better choices in foods (lean proteins, veggies/fruits) and leave the junk food where it belongs, on the grocery shelves....you have a tool to help you....unless you use it properly, this time next year, you'll be saying the same thing. you must want to lose weight bad enough to actually do what you need to and only you know that answer.
  12. i drink right up until i eat and then wait 30 min after i like feeling the band telling me enough ...my hub drinks his dindin through and i realize i use to also without tasting it... just goes to show how dr's are all different. just do what your dr suggests is best
  13. lean meats, fresh veggies and fruit

  20. and i dont eat bread/pasta/potatoes and rice and i am losing pretty well...so everyone is different...
  21. also perfectly written and well said and 1000000% agree with you
  22. i do not mean to rude, so forgive me, but you wrote 3 things about why you cant...you need to find a way you can.... do what you have to to make yourself well.
  23. i found that as you heal, the appetite comes back it did with me..here is the mind over matter (want power)...cant stress enough to stay hydrated and use that protein as fuel....terry, keep up the good work..been reading your posts since you started, great attitude
