  1. does this mean you dont have a record of past dieting attempts as i know this is a must..
  2. sure i could lose weight without the band but i always gained it back...by doing all the wrong things.. this last time i got myself into a pickle at the highest weight ever.. and was having trouble walking and if i didnt get help, they'd have to cut me out of the house...that is why i went through with the band.. to save my life.
  3. as long as you follow your dr's instructions, you should do fine i was 2 1/2 weeks pre op liquids 2 weeks post op liquids 1 week mushies 1 week soft then as tolerated... after surgery its vital to let the insides heal regardless of those who ate shortly thereafter... this was major surgery and our health is worth more than (gotta eat because i am hungry)
  4. well good for you just keep your eye on the prize and do what your dr;s advise..this will be your year
  5. mainly because you insdies are still heaing and eating something like a pizza could hurt you..i wrote that bc my dr's nurse told me a person did just that 3 days after surgery..needless to say she ended up in the hospital..but all dr's are different.and different time frames of post op dieting....its just alittle while longer and though it seems like forever doing liquids, it is there for a reason....my port area was sore/tender for about a month..each day you will get better
  6. i find people who dont know about the band or understand exactly what it is, are the ones who are most vocal......along with the ones who do not use it correctly. this is your life this is about you and in the words of my bad a** biker hub in regards to anyone who doesnt like what he says or does.. f*** em as catfish said, make them eat crow
  7. my dr uses allergen and in surgery he put in a 14cc band i did not ask him why, just figured he knew the reason why
  8. well, from what i understand, the band wont make you full but it will hep you eat less..i dont have any fills but i eat as if do. and if you are exercising and eating as you describe, it sounds like you are doing correct. just because the scale is not moving, does not mean the band is not working.
  9. missy said it all and hit the mark as far as i am concerned...chose to eat good food in the allotted amounts and relaize 3500 calories is a pound whether its ate or drank and if someone takes in more calories than they burn off, then they most likely will gain.
  10. i dont have any fills but know the band is working so until i can get a fill , i am eating good foods and eating the allotted amount..i am not depending on the fill to help me lose weight...doesnt make me any better then anyone but i cant use me not having a fill as an excuse to not do what i can to help the band.
  11. i work about 50 hrs a week plus home stuff and my hubs club stuff but you STILL HAVE TO MAKE TIME...some people have children and school and jobs and whatever but you have to make time to just do it..even if its 5 or 10 minutes, as long as you do it, thats success..the motivation is you wanting to lose weight bead enough to do something about it. only you can do it..the band will help..but you have to help the band
  12. the first month is for basically healing and getting your mind frame in the game...so dont worry about (not losing right now).....follow your dr's guidelines..stick with it no matter what and soon, very soon, you will notice a big difference...you must heal first and the best thing you can do is realize this is a process and not an overnight miracle. ..so just because you can whatever, does not mean you should..still use your allotted amounts.
  13. well, i was there too....so i drank and drank and drank its not hard but its necessary so we can heal our insides SF popsicles saved me ...hang in there as it does get better
  14. i did not expect miracles i expected to just have something help me before banding and then after, something clicked for me to make the band work, i have to help the band and i stopped making excuses and took responsibility. i choose to eat right, and follow the band guidelines.. what you lose at your vacation time is up to you be all you can be by being you..follow your dr's instructions, help the band and be in a hot bikini in no time
  15. the band will help you eat less but until you are at that magically zone its up to you to make sure you dont eat twice as much as you are suppose to..you stop at your allotted amount PERIOD. you stop at 20 min whether you are hungry or not..dont blame the band for you not using it correctly. def see your nutritionist and def eat lean Proteins so you can be full and veggies/fruit and drink alot. 3500 calories is a pound whether you eat it or drink it.if you take in more cals than you burn off, you will gain or not lose weight...you are the only one who knows what you are eating...and since you said you eat twice what you are suppose to, i would gander that is why.
  16. pg, a nice meal that i am def gonna try i may put into muffn tins and try to do singles (like i do meat loaf).. do you think the texture will allow that?
  17. my shoulder started hurting on day 4 and left me on day 8 or 9........talk about a wonderful day ..like jim, gasx did not help me..i walked up and down my long hallway.......got in a hot shower and let the water hit my shoulder, and did windmills (hurt but def made it feel better)..managed pain with the liquid pain meds they gave me...i know it dont seem like it, but it will get better
  18. normally my silly success stories are related to (something on me or that i am doing) todays silly success is not one but 2 people commenting on my WL. first was my ole man..do i count that or not? i mean does he have to say it or get in trouble?? you'd think after 28+ yrs of marriage he'd say it anyhow...haha no, yesterday, i got home from work and he met me at the door and said *hey skinny*..looking good..........far from being skinny but def could have tied a brick to my foot to bring me back down to earth second was me walking in to my monthly nail salon appt this morning been coming to this place for 7 yrs and lyn has saw me at reg weight and at my heaviest 7 months ago..so i walk in, carrying my DD coffee and she said, my gosh you have lost alot of weight could have kissed her dead on her mouth so to hear someone comment on you (from out of the blue) made me feel wonderful i consider this silly success post a good thing.

  23. i know you didnt ask me, but after surgery, i was ms queen #2 to the potty my dr told me to take a probiotic every day and in 2 days, it def helped me in that area...i opened it and put it in my protein shake..def made a difference
  24. i pm'd my good friend jean who wrote bandwagon book she had the band and the sleeve now due to a medical issue not related to the band. i am positive she can offer more insight to this than most. i am sure she will answer soon
