  1. Thanks Lilbelly! ( cute name) I had my 2nd fill today.. I am now at 5cc, hoping more pounds will come off! Out goal weight is about the same..We can do this!
  2. Hi Kah... As a matter of fact I had my 2nd fill today at 4:00. I now have 5cc in my band. Hopefully I will feel some restriction with this one:) up to now I have none whatsoever! If I let myself I could totally pig out:)
  3. Lol o know what you mean... I am a shorty and look like a Chubby girl....- Always have. I'm tired of it darnit!!
  4. It's veeeeeeerrrrryyy slow. I started w/bmi of 30, and have only lost 18 lbs since February 14th. Seems like nothing compared to others that have lost 30-40lbs that were banded around the same time I was:) It is slower for low bmi-ers. We will get there! Slowly but surely. I need to lose 30 more to get to my goal of 115!!
  5. It's 145 for me... Did not make goal..
  6. We always have friends over... I mean almost every weekend. I buy either special K or Kashi crackers to dip I'm hummus or a home made dip that I know is healthy. Also we usually grill chicken or steak kabobs with veggies and fruit. As for alcohol I'll have flavored vodka with diet cranberry juice ( 5 calories) And just skip dessert;) Have fun!!!
  7. Yes Laulau, they'll band you but completely out of pocket. My surgery was $10,000 and fills are $200 a pop. A wonderful reminder to " not eat that donut!" lol. My friend tried to get me to eat one the other day and I looked at her and said... "10,000". She looked at me and was like oh... Yeah, never mind! Take care girl, wishing u luck.
  8. I started at 163..I'm 5'1 and got my band 2/14/12. I have lost 18 lbs to this date. This morning I was 145:) My goal is 115-120. Best of luck to you!!
  9. Brad... I have named my port! Her name is "Porty" lol Mine also sticks out like a tumor... I love to feel it and realize WOW! I have lost a layer or 2...
  10. There must have been an underlying illness... This was way crazy. I too pray for Shirley... I learned a lot from her. RIP.
  11. Judy... Its funny but the recipe for this "mock" cheesecake is super simple! The 3 ingredients: Ff ricotta, extract of choice (coconut is my fave) and sweetener of choice. Soooooo good. Just mix, and enjoy.
  12. Yes Hope...that one worried me too. Honestly, my doctor barely went into any contraindications....on the contrary, he was very positive and said statistics for band failure were a very small percentage:) I'll keep thinking that way! Ive only lost 17 lbs since February but well in my way down:) Good luck to you and everyone else!!!!!
  13. Dagmar, that's an awesome idea! I shall try that soon!
  14. Mis73.... I eat 1/2 cup at a time...as a dessert. It's approx 80 calories. Sooooo good!! Sure beats a 500 calorie-a-slice from the Cheesecake factory!!
  15. Ok, I loooove cheesecake and came up w/an amazing version: Fat free ricotta cheese, a couple drops of flavored extract such as almond, coconut (is my favorite tastes absolutely amazing) banana, maple, or good ol' fashion vanilla. Sweeten to taste w/some spenda or equal, mix, and OMG it's heaven!!!!!! I was thinking to even add some sliced almonds???
  16. I gotcha Stephi... I was like OMG what's going on with all this negativity???? That makes sense. Thank you!
  17. Ok guys.... I'm getting a little concerned here... Most of the posts I have read today have been about lap band removals, failed bands, etc.... It scares me a little because I'm just a newbie, and my doctor only mentioned "briefly" what could go wrong. I was under the impression that the lap band surgery being the less invasive, was also the safest. I know there are lots of success stories but it just seems today all I have read are the horror ones:( I don't wanna get discouraged....
  18. Congrats!! How awesome. Wishing you all the happiness and success in the world!
  19. Go for it... And enjoy w/out guilt! I went to Chilis 2 weeks post op and had 2 glasses....( felt like heaven)
  20. It's ur phrenic nerve... Give it a couple days, maybe 2 weeks and ull be good. My doc told me to take advil for 5 days and walk around doing "windmills" with ur arms:)
  21. You go with your bad self!! That is amazing!!!
  22. B-52... Can u share your techniques for tightening your band if u don't mind?
  23. Honk, when did u get your band?
