  1. Yep! Trust me, it's an ongoing learning process. Sometimes I still eat big/normal sized bites, but then I'm full in like 5 minutes and everyone else is still enjoying their meal and I'm sitting there twittling my tumbs So if you eat slow and tiny, then you can enjoy your meal with everybody. But I'm single so most of the time I'm eating alone so getting full in 5 minutes is fine with me when I'm by myself at home.
  2. Anytime I think. I'm in my 5th month.
  3. Mine didn't come from my mouth. It was coming from my throat. I also threw up the slime one time (only time I got sick 3 weeks out), it had the food particles in it though. So it wasn't like normal vomit, it was just clear slime and chopped up food.
  4. Good post! I'm a scientist This guy explains it, and he also has some other great articles on his site. Enjoy! http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html
  5. It happens when you eat too fast or your bites are too big. I didn't realize I had been doing it until this past Saturday. The consistency is thicker than saliva but thinner than mucous. I was eating and driving and hadn't eaten in like 10 hours (long story), so I didn't realize how fast I was eating.
  6. I'm noticing a lot of hair loss too, and my hair is very thin in the front already. Thanks genetics I finally broke my stall and lost 3.2 lbs this week. I didn't do anything different to break it, I just kept on trucking. I'm hoping I'm back to consistent losses. I'm still doing Zumba and my elliptical. I just got sucked into an infomercial and ordered Tap Out XT. It's kinda like Insanity, I think I'm insane for trying it. Good luck next week, I hope you make it to onederland!
  7. Mobile productivity killer! Lmao!!! I love it. So accurate.
  8. Surprisingly, I didn't. I say surprisingly because pre-sleeve, every other "diet" I've been on I always stall after 2 weeks and then quit. I lost consistently for 3 months, and then only lost 3.6 lbs the whole month of July. So I call that a stall in my book. BTW I only weigh once/week. I did take progress pictures and have lost A LOT of inches. So I'm not letting this slow loss discourage me. My body will get with the program eventually I want my overall average to be 10 lbs/month, and I'm down 50 in 4 months, so I'm ahead of the curve.
  9. I hardly ever cook these days because everytime I go out to eat, I instantly have 4 meals. Today's lunch is a slider I had left over from Sunday! I think part of my stall is because I've been eating out a lot lately. I'm seeing a new guy that loves to take me out But my portions have stayed tiny. idk, I need to get back to the basics.
  10. Good job! It's good that you are consistently losing. I'm still at a stall, ugh! I guess I'm shrinking because I keep getting compliments, but I want to see the numbers come down! I read that when you stall it's your body remembering a weight you were at for a long time. I don't remember being 238 for a long time, but I guess I was. I'm going to keep on truckin and hope my body stops resisting. Good luck next week!
  11. So sorry for your loss. I lost my dad 3 weeks after I was sleeved. I will say that the sleeve saved me from emotional eating. I was sleeved in Mexico with no complications. I only had blood work done 4 months post-op. Hopefully you will have another job/insurance in place by then. I am praying that you will be fine. *hugs*
  12. Good job! You look great! I'm only down 0.6 lbs this week. I'm in the stall from hell. I've only lost 4 lbs this whole month. I've been working out a lot this week, I'm probably not eating enough to sustain my workouts. I hope I'm not stalled for long. I still want to lose 40 more lbs.
  13. Chipotle and Five Guys
  14. I posted this exact same question a while ago. I saw this after I took a stimulant laxative. I think it is musous, I was told that those stimulant laxitives pull out a lot of gunk. I haven't taken anymore of those laxatives and haven't had that happen again. Good luck.
  15. I like Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets DVDs. He uses a stability ball and dumbells. They are kinda old but very effective. He trains celebrities. You don't feel like you are doing much cardio-wise, but I wear my heart rate monitor and my HR gets pretty high. Since they are old you should be able to get them very cheap now. I really want to focus on toning so I'm not left flabby. I started with 5 lb weights and am already up to 7.5 lbs after two weeks.
  16. Good luck. I was sleeved in TJ by Dr. Kelly in March and to this day my mom doesn't know I went to TJ. I called her while I was there and had to lie to her. I told her I had my surgery 3 weeks later when I saw her face to face. I lied and told her I had it done locally. Sometimes we have to keep the truth from the ones we love to protect them.
  17. Congratulations! You will love Dr. Kelly and his work. I wish I would have known about it when I was your age
  18. Definitely find some new supporters. You will find out who your real friends are after your surgery. I had a really close friend that said she's against me having the surgery but will support me. She is big too and I'm sure she didn't want to be the fat friend. Well we are still friends and she's actually losing weight on her own now so maybe I influenced her. You will see who is real during your journey. Good luck.
  19. I'm in my 15th week and just hit my first one. We all have them. Just keep swimming
  20. Sorry, I'm not buying that. That sounds like a scare tactic to me. The only way to rupture your suture line would to be to stuff yourself silly. I can't see anyone WANTING to eat more than the 1/2 cup of food the sleeve allows. I was told you are fully healed after 6 months. I know for a fact that you have scar tissue that grows over the suture line. So it can't just rupture like that. I'm 15 weeks out and only threw up once because I ate something I had no business eating 3 weeks out, and it came out my mouth and nose. Do you think I threw up ever since then? Nope. Maybe these people she's allegedly referring to didn't get the psy evaluation and behavior changes required/recommended with WLS. Just my 2 cents.
  21. I was sleeved in Mexico in March and had my PCP run my bloodwork. My insurance gave me the run-around for my approval, he apologized for the Nutritionist being incompitent. Anyhoo, I told him I went to Mexico, he ordered the bloodwork that he uses on any WLS patients. It measured all of my vitamin levels. He wants to see my back in 4 months (my cholesterol was still a little high).
  22. Good job you are so close to Onderland! I lost 0 this week, and 1 last week. So I think I'm on my first stall Not too bad for 15 weeks out I guess. I ate a lot of junk last week, I was in Atlantic City for the Holiday. So I'm not sure if it's a real stall or just not losing because of the junk. I'm not worried though, I can tell I'm shrinking and today wore a blouse to work that I haven't been able to fit in years. It's a size 14/16 but it's a long tunic and it actually fits over my large hips now. Yay NSV! That's cool about your co-worker. Only a few people know I went to MX to get sleeved. Still keeping the big secret from my Mom. At first I thought the surgery you were talking about was plication, but I'm not sure now. Hopefully you can convince him to get the real sleeve. I talked one of my friends out of the crapband, and now she's getting sleeved. I feel like a spokesmodel now LOL! I'm still doing Zumba classes and my elliptical, but now my Mom has an XBOX Kinect and I so want one now. I played Zumba on it and it's great. Maybe I will get it when I hit the 50 lb mark which is 2 lbs away.
  23. Thanks! I'm 5'11" I've always been pear-shaped. I love my curves though, I just want them to be reduced in size
