Surgery In Mexico...3 Month Follow Up?

I am having my surgery in MX and I really hadn't planned for any 3 mth follow up. I don't think my insurance at home will cover the tests since they would not qualify me for the surgery. Is the 3mth upper GI and xray essential? Did people return to MX for the follow up? What are your experiences?

Feeling a little silly and unprepared.

Interesting. Getting sleeved in mexico on august 18th. Didn't think about the 3 month labs. I thought it was 12 months.

I think my Dr only requires lab work. I hope anyhow. My insurance will not cover an upper GI for bariatric reasons.

Yes mam only lab work to make sure no blood clots and liver shrinkage ;)

Mine is an upper Gi and barium swallow test and labs it's only $150 for this. for me it's cheaper to fly and get test done than going to my PCP and go to get labs done I still haven't meet my $5000 decuctible And it's just piece of mind don't want to wait to long if there was a problem I cant see or feel.

I was sleeved in Mexico in March and had my PCP run my bloodwork. My insurance gave me the run-around for my approval, he apologized for the Nutritionist being incompitent. Anyhoo, I told him I went to Mexico, he ordered the bloodwork that he uses on any WLS patients. It measured all of my vitamin levels. He wants to see my back in 4 months (my cholesterol was still a little high).

Great! I thought I had asked Susan that question before I booked my surgery. I just do not want a $2,000.00 or more bill that my insurance will not pay.
