  1. Good for you!
  2. You are actually facing an issue you have had and taking it head on!!! Congrats to you for making such a brave decision. That tells me that no matter what others think (even a nasty ex-boyfriend, who thankfully for you is an ex!) that you are a strong woman. Now you need to own that! Do not take what others have said to you that have been painful to heart...you need to look at their negative, mean personalities and a problem they have not you! We can only own what we create ourselves! I know that I am in no way responsible for others, just my own behavior. So it seems to me that you are taking charge of your life! Although you may have feelings of guilt please know that you have made a great decision for you, not for anyone else this is for you! Be happy for you, you are obviously a strong person, you just might not know it yet! Hold your head high and know you are very brave and the right person for you. You come first! Do not let others dictate who you are or who you want to be!
  3. I haven;t had any problem with chicken as long as it is moist. I know I don't want to get stuck and people say that chicken can sometime present a problem, but I did try it and so far as long as I chew, chew, chew til it's mush I don't have a problem. Good luck!
  4. People are more than happy to help you through the system. Just ask!
  5. I think the secret is to not do the same thing all the time. Switch up the food types and amounts and vary exercise program. Our bodies get used to what they expect to happen. Switch it up and hopefully that will put you into another gear!
  6. My turning point was when I was unable to do things with my kids. It has gone on for years and I wish I had done it sooner. I feel like I missed a lot of what I would have done with them. I am glad I finally got to the point where how I was living my life was probably going to literally kill me and when My Grandchildren are born I'd like to be here to meet them! That was the day I realized I wanted to be around longer and enjoy doing more with my kids.

  8. I hate to say it but no matter who the people you tell are, most people find it too much to keep a secret for too long. I am guilty of telling things I know but shouldn't talk about, I hate it I don't do it with malice, I just want to share and I feel horrible when I have kept a secret. So I guess it's not right to put people in that position....I have learned my lesson. I am not bitter it's just what I have found! I would say deny it if you want and be completely comfortable with that. It is no one elses business and is true of most situations in life!
  9. It is hard to remember not to fall into old habits or what may actually still be our habits. They are the ones we are trying to overcome. It isn't easy to think before you eat and think when you eat so that you can learn a new method of eating. It's O.K. move onward!
  10. What is fitbit?
  11. I was banded on 1/19/2012 and I have the same thing going on, but not really worried about it I think it will dissolve. They usually use stitches that dissolve. My first fill appointment was last week but the dr. had to cancel and I can't do it this week so I think that as long as it doesn't look infected I think I'll wait til then and talk to the dr. about it. If you are concerned call you dr. office.
  12. I agree chobani yogart and eggs! You can even add a little cheese to your eggs!
  13. To Sonnymom my surgery was on Jan. 19th, 2012.
  14. Painting my own toes sounds great! I used to have to have someone else do them....now I can do it myself! Cheaper than a pedicure and so emotionally rewarding! I think I am due for a reward charm for my bracelet! Pandora here I come!
  15. I totally get what they mean now by bandster hell....I'm there! It is a emotional roller coaster and I think the little voices in our heads help us reason things out...maybe! I can see that commercial where there is an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other....banting back and forth who's gonna win! I'm rooting for the angel, cause I'm not losing this battle! lol I like the post allison0927 has up...works for me too!
  16. I Can see my toes and actually the whole top of my foot! So exciting. I have also discovered that I have a collar bone! I can wrap my fingers around my wrist and touch the floor! My joints still hurt and I am hoping it gets better with losing more. I am so happy!
  17. Congrats on a safe surgery! Glad everything went well! I was not hungry at all at first and I have lost 22 pounds since 1/19. This is the best thing I have done for myself!
  18. Burping more than I have in my entire life! My kids heads will spin around like I scared them or something! Moms never burp ya know! Feels much better though! So much for embarrassing!
  19. I take care of my Dad he lives with us and have 3 teens I know where you're coming from!
  20. Looking forward to onederland! It is 18 pounds away, but I feel good about this! I know I will get there!
  21. @ hdavis72- I am in the same place as you. I seem to have fallen a little these past couple of days and making valentines cookies for the kids did not help, but wouldn't have missed it...tradition! Anyways I am going to go back on a liquid diet so I can get back to where I was. I have been doing so well it is amazing what a slip up can do. Going to try and reboot my mind for lapband success. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS! I hope I can say the same next year!
  22. Good luck! This is the best decision I have made for myself! Feels so good to be doing something for me! I was banded in January and love my new life! All your emotions are normal. You are going to do great!
  23. I was banded the middle of January and this has been a little overwhelming for me to figure out how to eat. I am doing a little better now but it definitely takes a conscious effort while eating! I try not to eat when I am in a hurry and chew chew chew so I can let the brain get the message that I am full. It is almost as if you have to think "o.k. am I full yet?" If I can do that now I think it will get easier. I was supposed to have a fill tomorrow, but the Dr had to cancel. I was looking forward to my first fill becasue I have done well without one so far, but my willpower is wearing thin. So the next appointment is in 2 weeks. It is going to take constant thought when eating not to hurry, weight food and staick with the plan! I might try rebooting myself, with a liquid diet for 2 days. It will get better. It's just a whole new game. This is America and we learn to eat in quantity. I read a book" why French women don't get fat" What it said is that they eat to taste not to get full and it is actually true. I would much rather have good food and savor the taste.
  24. Happy Valentines Day to you too! Great job!
  25. This a great story! Made me laugh...the good with the bad I suppose! Congrats. on the weight loss!
