I Can't Decide
It is absolutely a big decision but one that I am so very much thrilled with. The problem with "trying those other diets" again is that you may have short term success, but thats it. With the band and proper after care and support you will be learning how to eat to live. Losing weight will be a natural consequence of changing to a healthier lifestyle. it is not a diet, you need to change your mindset. The other thing is, becareful about asking family and friends of there opinion, because they may just give it to you. And often times they do not have proper information, they are just telling you something based on there own fear. So take the time to sit down with all of the information you need and read everything and talk to doctors and make your own informed decision. Bottom line is everything will fail, if you let it fail. Good luck, (I love my band, by the way!)

Still Struggling With Body Image
Wow, its like you are in my head. Those are the thoughts that I always have. When I met my now husband I was 136 lbs, he has since watched me gain almost 200 lbs in the last 10 years. He has been supportive and has always given me compliments and said I should "be naked more". He even likes touching my belly even though I think its gross. There have been occassions where he is not in the mood for a period of time and I think its me even though he says its not or even worse when I get up the courage to put lingerie on and he says he tired or his back hurts, thats the worst. It feels like a slap in the face. I wish I knew what to tell you to encourage you but I am in your boat! As far as sagging skin, have you been documenting with your doctor that it is causing problems like friction burn or getting infected or yeast infections in the folds? A lot more insurance companies are covering skin removal if you have enough documentation that it is medically neccessary. You will have to be very persistant with that though. That may help your self image issues a bit if you are able to get that done but a large part of it is your head so maybe think about a support group or therapist situation? Good luck.

Feeling A Little Discouraged
Thanks, already a few of those pounds have dropped back off. I am hoping to take this as a learning moment and not repeat this in the future. This summer is definitely going to be a challenge, but hopefully smaller new clothes will help me get through it. Good luck.

Feeling A Little Discouraged
It was a tough weekend. I ate bad food and too much. I know this. I blame me and only me. I gained back a few pounds and am having a hard time getting my head back in the game. On the bright side I finally figured out how to change my profile picture!

My husband has been truly great. Very supportive and tries to eat like me and not have my favorites in front of me. His only complaint is that I will lose my boobs! Men!

Once Brave Now Petrified
You. Are. Not. Alone. Please, read that over and over until you know it in your heart. I too and am emotional eater and was addicted to soda. I gave up soda a month before surgery. The emotional eating is still something I struggle with. Think about all of the times that you eat, now think about how many times you have actually been hungry. Im guessing the two numbers are nowhere near the same. That has been hard for me, but I am trying to let the band work the way it should. I won't lie, I still have times when I eat because I'm angry, upset, scared etc, but now I choose things like FF Greek yogurt or weight watchers light string cheese. Good luck

Starting Liquid Diet Tomorrow...ugh!
Yes the liquid pre diet is not so good. It is a big change from the way we normally eat and some people have problems with nausea and feeling shaky but also the fact that you feel like you could just cheat and there is no harm because you haven't had surgery yet. It is hard and unfortunately your just going to have to white knuckle through it. After surgery you most likely won't want food for a bit anyway. Good luck.

A Good Feeling
Yay. I am doing the same thing today. Cleaning out a lot of clothes that no longer fit.

No Weight Loss
Are you logging your food? Maybe some not so good stuff has been creeping in there and you just haven't "noticed" it. Also, our bodies hold onto weight for a lot of different reasons I am sure yours will get the picture soon and let it go.

Someone Noticed!!!!!!

Small Victories
What an awesome couple of days I have had! First< i cut about 5 inches off of my hair and got some nice light blonde highlights. I think it has really changed my face and has given me a boost. Second, I am down another few pounds to make 27lbs lost! And my biggest achievement is that I finally went to Old Navy for some new jeans. I went in and grabbed the biggest size they carry, a 20. In Lane Bryant I had been a 22/24 so I was a little nervous about the 20's but I tried them on anyway. They Fit!! Plus I got some really cute tops to make some nice new summer outfits. Well I get home and put the pants on and notice they are a little loose! I can pull them off without unbuttoning them. Holy Cow. The thought never entered my head to try on an 18 but that is what I need now. Such a different mind set this is. I used to be so happy when something fit I never would have thought about going smaller. Another added bonus is that Lane Bryant can be pricey and all of my stuff from Old Navy was wayyyyy cheaper! So, new hair and new smaller clothes to go with the new me. Yeah, I could get used to this.

Advise On 2Nd Fill Needed
First off, congrats on the weight loss so far! That is awesome! I would say definitely bring all of these concerns to your surgeons attention. He or she are probably used to these questions and may have some insight on what they see happen when people are in your situation. Hoepfully you have a doctor that you are able to discuss things with. I have 5cc in an 11cc band and go in a few weeks and hope to get a little more added because I know its not enough. Your doc may advise you to add a small amount like .5cc and see what that does. Good luck, please post what the outcome is!

Am I Normal?
Make sure you are taking little sips and not gulps, it is hard to change habits we have had for so many years. Also, get up and walk that will help you feel normal again so much faster. Just do little trips around your house, once every commercial break. Doing that will really help you move the gas out and help you recover better.

Anyone From April Had Banded Filled?
Banded on April 6 and got my first fill on May 10. He put 5cc in an 11cc band and I can tell the difference but still able to eat more than I should or would like to eat.

Caffeine Substitute??
Some of the crystal lights have energy stuff in them. Not sure if it's caffeine or not but it might help.

Am I Crazy?
Wow! That is awesome. Good for you. My process started on December 6, 2011 and my surgery was April 6, 2012. Not too bad considering some people wait years!

Thanks Alot World News Tonight! And That Is Sarcasm
That sucks. I'm sorry that they aren't being more supportive for you. I think in there own weird way they think they are but maybe just let them know that you made an informed decision and now all you are asking for is there positive support, not horror stories. Good luck.
