  1. I got my first fill today! He put 5cc in an 11cc band so I am curious as to how much difference this will make for me. I am hoping to now start making some serious headway and start losing a good amount. Very excited. 20 lost already but looking for a few big weeks to really pump me up.
  2. get up and walk, as much as possible! Seriously, this helped me a great deal. Just short little trips around the house then sit for a few minutes and get up and do it again. It helps move the gas through a lot better.
  3. Well, I joined lose it! And have started to track my calories and protein. It is a very good app/website so far. Easy to use and has a lot to it. I am hoping this helps me succeed! And I also went to the gym today! And kicked butt if I do say so myself! I jogged on the treadmill for the first time ever!!!
  4. If you are really worried about the hernia, call your doctor. But as far as the fill goes it could take a few weeks to adjust to it, so if you are eating properly and not vomiting it sounds ok. However go with your instincts and if you are not comfortable then get a little taken out. Good luck.
  5. Absolutely true. I am my own worst enemy. I am so mad that I have not lost more than I have but I know that it is me failing and not the band. I need more help. I need.....?
  6. No worries. You will be out for the procedure and when you wake up the only thing you should notice is a slightly scratchy throat. Good luck.
  7. People tend to complain more than say good stuff so take it with a grain of salt. If it helps I really freaked out right before surgery but now I am almost a month post op and love it.
  8. I was banded on 4/6/12 and have lost 19lbs so far.
  9. I am in Salem county very near the Cumberland county border.
  10. Have you contacted your insurance yet to see if they even cover it at all? If they do ask for, in writing exactly the steps you need to go through and what it takes to qualify. That way you know from the beginning what to expect. Also, most surgeons offices have an office person who deals with all of the insurance. Make sure you find out who that person is in whatever surgeons you choose, make that person a very good friend! They will be able to help you. Good luck.
  11. Hey there! I was banded 10 days before my 30th birthday. My starting weight was 300lbs and so far I've lost just under 20lbs. I too would like a buddy. Good luck. Message me if you would like.
  12. Unjury is an extremely good one and my personal favorite. I ike to take the unflavored and add it to everything including every bottle of water I have I add half a scoop of unflavored unjury plus my packet of sug free crystal light.
  13. Also becareful of the type of Protein you are getting. Make sure it is a good quality or your body may not absorb it well enough resulting in hair loss.
  14. I had a binder. That thing was my best friend!
  15. Hey Meaghan! You sound exactly like me! I am 29 and have a three and a half year old boy too! It looks like we also have the same goal weight and starting weight. I just had my surgery on 4-6-12. No worries, the first few days are rough but you will do great!
  16. That is so awesome! What an inspiration. I got my band on April 6th so that is definitely something for me to look forward to!
  17. Well, I made it! Yay. Woke up this morning feeling so much better! Got on the scale and I've lost 13 pounds so far. Pretty happy with that. Keep moving forward!
  18. Well, it's 5:15 am. I am leaving for surgery in about 10 minutes. So very nervous right now and glad I am going in early. Surgery is scheduled for 7:30!
  19. My surgery date is April 6th. I have lost 5lbs on my pre op diet but I have had some slip ups. I am worried about so many things right now. Two biggies are, if I can't handle the pre op diet am I really gonna be ok with this life change and the biggest is.... am I going to make it through surgery ok? It is surgery and things go wrong. I will feel so much better when surgery is over.
  20. Great name! I want to lose around 150lbs. That's kinda scary to think we have that much extra on our bodies. I am starting to get really nervous about surgery. Good luck to you!
  21. Some things to keep in mind; Are you a little "backed up"? How much salt is in your diet? More water would definitely help you with both. Also if you are eating a lot of sugar free things the artificial sweetners may not be well tolerated by your body and they could lead to bloating and water retention. Just a thought, good luck.
  22. Yay! I am on my first day of the pre-op diet. Its hard, its gonna suck. But we can do this!
  23. Well, my suregery is in two weeks! I started my pre-op diet today. Two protein shakes and a lean cuisine type meal for dinner. I can have a sugar free jello if I like for a snack. Its not much but I know others have a far stricter diet, so I wont complain. Feeling good so far but I know this is going to get old really fast. I find that I am very much looking forward to my meal tonight and having real food.
  24. Frozen fruit blends well and gives it a thicker frothier texture.
