  1. A fitbit is a little device that you clip on you. Usually on your pocket. It's like a pedometer but so much more. It tracks your steps, how many flights of stairs you've climbed, calories burned and a clock. It is very simple to use and connects easily to a computer. There is a website to go on and customize your settings, log food and track your progress. There is also Ann app for your phone. Very handy and easy to use tool.

I got my third fill on Wednesday. I am now up to 8cc in an 11 cc band. That one extra cc has really made me feel a difference. I have lost five pounds in four days. I really thought that 45 pounds would look and feel so much better than it does. But I think the most irksome thing is that it seems people don't notice I've lost anything. I'm guessing that some do and just don't say anything but after sooooo many years of hearing negative from people I was really looking forward to some positive feedback. 105 pounds to go.
  3. Old navy is my new favorite store now that I've lost enough to fit in there stuff again!
  4. I had a three week wait. I called my doctors office once a week to see if they had heard yet. Finally that third call they said they had just received the email. Worth it.
  5. Hey there Jersey people. I am in Salem county and am starting to notice the sagging so would like some suggestions as well.
  6. They also use your nails bed as an indicator for oxygen in your body.
  7. I am currently at 35 pounds lost since banding April 6, 2012. My first fill was May 10 and I have lost 14 pounds since then.
  8. I had 5cc as my first fill in may. It was great, I just went last week for my second fill and got another 2cc in.
  9. When you ate that bit of roll you may have irritated the band area a bit and you may be swollen now. That would explain why when you get hungry again later you fill up super quick. It may take a few days for your belly to calm down again.
  10. Wow. Congrats to you. Yeah, definitely take some pics. Even for the simple fact of just taking part in your life; birthday parties, picnics etc. it is shocking looking back over my life and if you went by photo evidence only it would look like I never went to anything.
  11. I absolutely feel your pain. Buying pants is one of the most annoying and frustrating things ever. I too can not wait to be able to just go in a store and no matter what find something. Soon....
  12. Keep drinking water and get up and move as often as you can. You probably won't feel like it but it's the best thing for you. Good luck.
  13. Yay, and good luck to you. This is a very exciting time. I would suggest that if you are planning on getting broth for after surgery you should think about buying regular cans of soup and straining it for the broth. I tried the canned broth and it did not taste good, I couldnt even force myself to sip it. But if I took a regular can of soup and strained it, the broth was wonderful.
  14. Hey there! I have a realize band. Its been two months since surgery and I have lost nearly 30 pounds so far. I am doing well with my band, I havent had any complications or problems with it. I have not been stuck on anything yet nor have I vomited. I have 5cc in an 11cc band. There is no food that I can not eat (that I have found so far). I just take my time with little bites and long chews. Good luck to you!
  15. I have always been the one at work who is always hot and sweaty. I never wear long sleeves or jackets, even in the winter. I am the first to put the air conditioner on at work and as soon as I do all of the "skinny b*****s"start complaining about it while they are there in there skimpy next to nothing outfits. Well, I will say that I have lost nearly thirty pounds and am feeling the difference already. We have had some really hot days here in Jersey already and I must say that it was nice to not be as hot and as sweaty as I would have before. Hopefully it keeps getting better.
  16. Hi there. Good luck to you and hopefully going to the seminar helps you get a better picture of what is ahead of you. You mentioned that you have no self control when it comes to food. Getting the lap band is not going to fix that, if you look on this site you will see plenty of people who still struggle with those issues. But hopefully if you do choose the band you will have plenty of support, and if you are doing it for the right reasons you will be able to overcome some of your issues and find long term success. Good luck to you, we are always here if you need us!
  17. So, I got a Fitbit Ultra last Friday and having been using it very faithfully ever since. I really like how easy it is to use and all of its little features. It has really been a motivator for me. I like watching the numbers climb on the pedometer portion and I really like when my calories are in the green zone! Ok, that being said. I was really hoping that paying atention to what I ate and how I moved that much more than I already do would have made a difference on the scale! Nope. I was really really really hoping to be below 270 by now!!!! So very frustrating.
  18. Wow, how absolutely amazing! Congrats on finally being able to have that baby! You can definitley get back to onederland, just keep reminding yourself of the key principles of the band and good healthy eating in general. You will do great!
  19. This is exactly what I am going through! ,y husband tells me all the time how I look like I am changing and slimming down, but not one single person who doesnt know about the surgery has said anything! So frustrating.

Definitely sucks. There is something about having this surgery that makes people think they have rights to say this stuff. I've lost nearly 30 pounds in 2 months and my mom actually said I was lying to her about the weight loss because she can't see any change in me. If she is serious and does start bugging you about choices, gently explain to her that you have a food plan you are following and if you are having a treat it means you worked it in and it's ok.
  21. Oh my goodness. That is so wonderful. It is so nice to hear success stories like yours. The real things people who are overweight deal with and no one even knows. Congrats.
  22. First, please call your surgeon about the port. And about the hunger, your not that far away from surgery and you are still swollen inside so it's very likely you just aren't hungry. Are you keeping up with your water? That is a very important part of healing. I don't know about the sleep though. Good luck.
  23. I just bought a fitbit yesterday. I love it. Definitely helping me think differently about how much I move and what I eat. I am very glad I got it.
  24. Wow, congrats so far! Its nice to lose a nice little bit right off the bat for some extra motivation. Don't over do it though!
  25. Since the fitbit and the body bugg are about the same price I would go with the fitbit, it looks better and has some awesome features. I think I will be getting one.
