  1. Ooooooo...ya, it sounds awfully early for something that solid. :s

    Goooood idear!!
  3. The first person that tells me this is easy is going to get punched dead in the face!!! (and I'm NOT a violent person!!) You don't need THAT in your life. I pray for us all.
  4. I can still taste my last coke. so fizzy ... so cold..... OH, sorry...I was somewhere else for a minute there... CONGRATS! You'll do great!! You get a bit of substance on your pre op diet! That's good, that's good. Time will fly!
  5. They look at you and smile and say "that's great" with a mellow tone...yes. But what they're thinking is... "ARE YOU FREAKING INSAAAAANE???" That's what I used to think about people getting the bypass. I think I still do, but not quite as much. That's what's good about this forum. We're all super excited for each other!
  6. THANKS GUYS!!!! I'm currently in the hotel in Dallas, pre ops done and waiting for Monday morning! I'll "K.I.T."!!!!
  7. YES!! I am excited, and nervous and scared and hopeful and sad that my hubby's not in Dallas with me, but I've got my mom and boys with me. Just 2 days to go! I am totally ready to wake up and say "what the H##L did I DO to myself??" I've heard it time and again on here, but I know it's a natural reaction. It's hard even right now to see that this is right to do because it's a radical thing to do to a body, but I can't wait for the results. I'll keep y'all posted. Monday morning....
  8. OH OH!! I just met with Dr. Kim today!! Did the Bariatric U and pre ops and surgery will be Monday!! Woo Hoo!! When's your day?
  9. So, what'd you end up serving?
  10. I am 42 and I'm currently at 325...ish. I do not have any health problems to speak of. None. Ok, my knee kinda hurts after a 12 hour drive to Dallas to see the surgeon...other than that- no. I got tired of my diet attempts doing nothing more than ultimately packing on an extra 20 lbs. when all was said and done. Lose 20, gain 40. Done. Sick of it. I want to spend time with my family doing fun things that I can't do right now because of this ridiculous weight. I wanted control of my body again! What confirmed it for me was something I read on this forum that was a quote from a well known t.v. doc- He said that if you reach age 50 and you are 100 lbs or more overweight, you have the same mortality rate as someone with a solid cancer. That really sewed it up for me. I want to be here for my husband and my three boys.

    SOunds gooooood!!!
  12. I understand sweetie. I just finished day 12. Day 9 was a horrible day, then day 10 came...and it just didn't matter anymore. Kinda weird. Maybe you'll hit that point sooner than later. Use this time to really understand where your hunger is coming from and what your mental cues are. It's been a very eye opening time for me. Don't skimp on your shakes or any other drinks or Jello or whatever you can have. Keep it going in. Getting ALL the shakes in will help your body calm down and not feel like you're starving.
  13. Done with pre-ops today. Surgery Monday! Now to wait......
  14. Good Job! It'll all smooth out. Praying for you.
  15. Thank you Amanda. That helps a LOT. I'm getting a little scared or "cold feet" today, as we're leaving for Dallas in the morning. I have my first appt. with Dr. Kim Friday, then surgery Monday. I think once I talk to him I'll feel better. Today was much better than yesterday, I'll have to admit. Thanks again!
  16. I only run when chased! (maybe that will change one day
  17. You NEED to risk the loopy/sleepy thing. You must be a good girl and take your pain meds. When someone cuts you in many places and sews you back up, it's a given that it's going to hurt. That's why they prescribe the meds. I think if you just try it, you will find you are much happier about everything when the pain is decreased. Even if you're in a fog. Just do it. Like someone said on here before: you don't get extra points for leftover pain meds!
  18. It's hard girl! I'm cracking under the pressure! We can do this though!!!
  19. Thanks Kemo! Good point. I'll try to keep full of something I can have. It's hard feeding 3 boys and a husband and not taste what I'm cooking. I think today will be better
  20. Don't be lifting heavy motor parts!!
  21. What did he say about long term effects??
