SIX WEEKS???!!!??? I'll be praying for you.
  2. 10 days out of surgery I was down to 110/68. (Pre op numbers and in the hospital I was edging up to 156/95 which was super high for me.)
  3. WEll, I work at home, homeschooling the boys, all the other domestic things....Today is 2 weeks out and it's back to work, but coincidentally, it's the first day i've really felt like I can tackle it all. 2 weeks was a nice time span to be off for me.
  4. Ohhhh they TASTE good !!! BOYYYYYY do they taste good!!! This is what I fear the most. The cake and donut monster rearing its ugly head. I'm two weeks out and have no desire for it whatsoever, but I'm hoping that doesn't change. Pastries were my downfall. If it makes me sick like it did you, that might be the best thing!!
  5. Dr. David Kim in Dallas also. You may have to save a few more pennies, but so worth it, I can't begin to tell you. I was self pay and don't regret it. I wrote a check to Forest Park Medical Center for $7000, and $5050 to Dr. Kim. You can't go to the e.r. with a paper cut for that price. The FP med center was OUTstanding! I felt like a princess with a huge private room and people in and out caring for me constantly. Dr. Kim's complication rate is one of the lowest out there, which for me was far more important than the price. Find something you can sell if you have to. (I sold some property.) It was a great experience and I'm feeling well 2 weeks out. Just some more info for you to consider.
  6. I was given a 6 week no swallowing whole pills restriction, but every surgeon is different. The hospitalist tried to tell me I'd have to crush pills forever because the new stomach is too small to quickly break down a big pill and you'd just poop it out. I'm ultimately going with my own doc's advice, as the hospitalist was not strictly a bariatric doc. I'm just wondering about time released stuff. Can't crush that.
  7. AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
  8. I bet you'd have never thought you'd be saying those words huh? ("i can't seem to gain weight") Maybe your body just hasn't stabilized yet. I've heard some people gain a few pounds back once they hit bottom. Definitely time to make an appt. to see the doc though. Praying for you.
  9. You have done what you are supposed to, so take a deep breath and calm down. You are doing great and you will DO great! No worries!! You'll be down another 5 before then anyway!
  10. WOW!! You've gone into overdrive!! What does doc say about it? Is your metabolism messed up?
  11. Sounds like you need to enjoy some Ben and Jerry's from time to time!
  12. Hehe...YA I remember. My liquid diet was for two weeks and I'm basically still on it! My surgery was on the 13th, so I'm still on liquids. By the time I'm done with this phase is will be 5 weeks on liquids all together. Blenderized food has never looked so good! It took me the first 3 days just to detox from the coffee and sugar and whatnot, so I felt flu-ish and just generally lousy. Feeling pretty good now though! You'll do great! How long after will you be on liquids?
  13. Day 3 I felt HORRIBLE too. It got better everyday, and still is. Be VERY good about doing the walking and breathing thing. We had the BEST surgeon, right??? Don't be shy with the pain meds either. I hope tomorrow is better for you.
  14. Yep. That's it. Drink the yuck, they snap a couple a pics and you're done! They usually tell you right there that you're clear.
  15. I was told by my doc that it could cause bloating, low food intake and vomiting. Also, some foods can be turned into a "slurry" and rushed out of your stomach, not permitting you to feel restriction when you eat, so you keep eating because you still think you are hungry. You do not want a hindrance to the full feeling. That's all I got...
  16. Plugging along. 13 days out. Pain finally dissipating. One more week on liquids, then on to blenders. 29 lbs. so far. Can't complain at all!
  17. I was TOTALLY reading that wrong!! (oops)
  18. OH!! My twins were 7 lbs each too!!! 37 weeks worth of stretched out belly. Now it looks like a bag of wet laundry hiding under my shirt. Hopefully soon the bag will be empty!
  19. So it's ok to take your narcs on a plane? I sure don't want my bottle confiscated!
