  1. Ya! It's like you suddenly wake up and say "what the heck am i thinking????" then you have to remember all the reasons you chose this.... I'm in 5 day pre op freak out mode right now.
  2. Way to go!!!! This gives me great hope!
  3. I agree. PdxMan is the one to ask.
  4. Thanks guys. That is encouraging. Do any of you ever imagine a big old mouthful of your favorite food and just want to cry? Or does it totally gross you out? (I'm hoping for the second option.) I've been weepy today too. I'm thinking it's the hormones flowing from the liquid diet weight loss effects. I'm in full blown menopause right now, so it's weird having all of that going on with the hunger and gravity of the moment with surgery coming. I'm glad y'all understand. Thank you. Anyone else wants to chime in- the more the merrier!!
  5. OK, I don't know if I'm just letting the liquid diet get to me or what, but as hungry as I am right now....I can't imagine looking at 1/4 cup of food knowing that it's supposed to be satisfying. I know my stomach is still the size of a football, full of Grehlin, so it's making it difficult to see. WILL I be satisfied with 1/4 cup of food on the other side of surgery? Will my head shut itself off from this feeling when I finally get some food? I hear a lot of unhappiness and strife on this forum from post ops, and the way I feel now makes me wonder if I'm just crazy for wanting to do this so badly. Please tell me some wonderful, flowery tales of fullness and satiety......
  6. Ohhhhh... the good ol' ng tube. My poor grandma had one near the end, and she was miserable.
  7. In fact....this surgery has MADE it possible for some to get pregnant who previously could not! They don't have to live in your body. You'll get plenty of support around here!
  8. That stinks! What was it for?? Breathing or what? I know they worry about people with apnea post op and want them breathing right. Did it have something to do with that?
  9. Most of the time the tube should be gone when you wake up.
  10. Praying for you Mater!! I'll meet y'all on the bench next week! We'll party down with some broth!
  11. Many people on here successfully drink sodas. However--there is a risk of stretching your sleeve over time. I'm NOT NOT NOT willing to risk that for something as caustic as sodas that aren't good for your gut anyway, even though I adore them. It's the one thing my Dr. is asking his patients to give up permanently. I've got no problem with that! My two cents....
  12. I can't stand the thought of that kind of foreign object around my stomach, not to mention the whole 'port' issue. EEEw. No way. Creeps me out!! This forum just confirmed my dislike of the idea. Way too many problems.
  13. I don't know about you Mater, but I'm dyin' over here on just liquids. Day 8 was rough. Can't wait to chew something meaty. Encouraging Worm, thanks!
  14. Dooter commented on circa's blog entry in I'm in control now.
    Cool!! Good job!!
  15. Hmmm...That's all I've got. :/ HOping someone will weigh in soon for you...
  16. I'm yet to be sleeved (8 days!) but I think from reading so much on this forum, the first thing the experienced folks will ask you is...are you taking a PPI? The stomach acid is reported to mimic hunger after the surgery...
  17. Me too! Me too! February 13th Let's go!!
  18. I'm one week into pre op liquids right now, and this post is just KILLING me!!! But do I stop reading it??? NOOOOOO!! hahahahaha
  19. Go to the Forums "Home" page and then go to the Pre-op threads and look at the very first one. It's a list of things you might need along with many others' input on what they have needed. Very helpful post. God Bless you on your way...
  20. So, what caused the blood clot? Did they remove the bad section of intestine?
  21. I SOOOOOOO long to hear those words come out of my mouth!!! I want food to be "eh" to me!! YES! YES! I want to not think about it, and not plan events around what the food is, or take a day trip and not be more concerned about the food than the time with my family. When I eat something I want really bad, I instantly regret eating it. I feel awful physically and spiritually. Once my stomach is full, my brain shuts off the want, so I'm hoping this surgery will hit the spot! Congrats Lisa! Celebrate your newfound mediocre feeling about food! (you other 2 as well) Oh happy day it will be.....
