  1. That's way too awesome! Pay it forward!
  2. Thanks Helen! It's getting better every day!!
  3. I'm still on clears until Tuesday morning. :/ Then I get to add the cream Soup and Protein shakes. I'm a little nervous about it!
  4. It's awesome! I'm glad to have people who understand my place in life right now.
  5. This is SUCH a personal, and serious decision. Don't take it lightly and don't decide rashly. I agree with all comments above and could have written many of them myself. I'm 42 and struggling with weight since I was put on my first diet at 8 years old when the yoyo began. I agree that you should read ALLLL you can on this subject. Scour this website with a fine toothed comb, and look up anything you can regarding negativity about the surgery. That's what I did. I wanted to see what the worse thing is I could come up with. (It's not much, either.) Just really familiarize yourself with the procedure and the lifestyle you will have to live afterwards. Eyes wide open baby!
  6. have they advised taking in more sodium? I'd ask first, but sometimes that will help.
  7. My instructions from the surgeon say to avoid pregnancy for 18 months. He says that during the first 12 months, it can be very dangerous for you and the baby and may result in birth defects. I know this is not good news for you, but don't risk your life or that of your unborn children. It would be far more devastating to your grandmother if something were to happen to you or your baby.
  8. Yes, the most helpful suggestion is to STOP weighing!! My surgery was Monday and I can feel my body hanging on to every drop I'm drinking. None of it is real right now. Just breathe. Relax. And S T E P AWAYYYYYY F R O M THE S C A L E!!! Your body will let go when it's ready. You're doing fine!
  9. OH DEAR!!! (running in a circle) what to do?! what to do?! uhhhh... Call the doctor!!! EEK! Then let us know, so if it happens to us!!
  10. Love him. Pray for him. Be a good example.
  11. Ohhhh....think I'm gonna yarg.....shouldn't a' read that...
  12. Ya, you could go in with a gunshot wound and they'd tell you to lose weight and exercise. Go to a chiropractor. I had the same knot, and it would SPASM all the time. It was bad. It was coming from my neck which was horribly out of alignment. Mine is 100% better now. My chiro never said ONE word about my weight. He knows I know I'm overweight and what that means. My two cents...
  13. Thanks! SO glad to be here!
  14. Thanks Kemo! I believe it!
  15. Thank you. Doing better today.
  16. Thanks! I'm seeing improvement this morning!
  17. Yes, the clouds are clearing and I can see improvement. You went to Dr. Kim- I have to tell you, I can NOT say ENOUGH wonderful things about Forest Park Medical Center and Dr. Kim and his people!!! WOW WOW WOW!!!! All I can say is, Money is a wonderful thing! That was the most awesome experience. (painful, but you know what i mean...) And actually the luxury for what i paid was unbelievable. Dr. Kim got $5050, and Forest Park got $7000. I got a HUUUGE private room complete with huge bathroom and shower, doting care by multiple people 24/7....just outstanding. You can hardly walk into the door of an emergency room with a bad gall bladder for less than $5000. Seriously.
  18. Ya, waking up fourth day here, and so far no bubbles. It's gross. Makes you have to spit. Very weird. Today is looking better all around. Able to drink a little better. It's really hard to drink what they want you to drink when you're hooked up to an i.v. Being off it helps, so do your best, but they won't get mad if you don't quite hit the mark every time.
  19. OH GOOD! i was wondering how you were doing.
  20. Thanks for the well wishes all! Oh boy. Mom brought pizza into the hotel room for the boys. That was the most horrid smell I have ever smelled in my entire life! It was all I could do to not barf! PBJ for them until we leave! OH, and my mouth keeps getting full of bubbles! What's that?!? Momof4- I pray things smooth out for you!
  21. Hey all! I had trouble with the hospital internet, so now that I'm back at the hotel, this is the first chance i've had to check in. Surgery went well, my hernia fixed as well. I've been having a recurring pain that feels like a vise has gripped my stomach then releases. The hospital doc says that some people get this and some don't. Darn. Should go away soon. I did spend the first night and morning throwing up. I was strict NPO until the upper g.i. the next morning, so a bunch of junk kept collecting in my throat while i slept. Then I'd wake up and swallow and immediately hurl. Dr. Kim assured me I didn't bust anything. Passed the leak test and then right away on to sip sip walk walk...ad nauseum. I just now tried to take a gas x strip to see if that would relieve any of my discomforts...well....it came back up too. :s Ok...note to self. Time to walk....then maybe a nap as a reward... We were going to leave Dallas for albuquerque on Friday, but now I'm thinking Monday. This is a pretty hard ride, but I'm glad to be on the other side of the major hump. (That WAS the major hump, right???)
  22. I'm up tomorrow too! I'll be praying for all of us 2/13/12 people!
