  1. Are you using the Bari Essentials Dr. Kim sends out? I start on it Monday.
  2. Dooter commented on circa's blog entry in I'm in control now.
That is such good news that you had a great experience all around! Congratulations!
  3. OOhhhh...that's not cool. What a hack! The endoscopy should have been totally painless. In fact whatever happy drugs they gave me left me feeling quite good! An upper GI is not the most fun thing you can do, but really isn't that bad. My surgeon wanted those, but I'd had them done recently enough that he just sent for the reports.
  4. Ya, notice I haven't tried it yet! hahaha.... I keep thinking that by merely WATCHING the video, this wet bag of laundry I'm carrying around in front of me might somehow shrink! Lord help us!!!
  5. Hooray!!! Good job!!! I can't wait to join you!
  6. Here's a decent looking ab workout that I found online. It's pretty simple but looks effective. Haven't tried it yet. (You just have to get past the fact that the guy is wearing boxers and "adjusts" the junk a little too often...) I was looking for something that targets the lower abdominal area when I came across this: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2415660/the_navy_seals_the_toughest_ab_building_workout/
  7. I shall heed your warning. I don't plan on doing anything without permission. I'd like to have them on hand, however if the word comes that I need 'em.
  8. Thanks! I'm sooooo waiting to forget about food! I hope that's my experience. I spend a lot of time feeding everyone around me, so maybe that will help. Sounds weird, but I can see it. I have a couple hundred to lose, so I'm hoping there will be that initial fat-alanche. Is that a word?
  9. Who, me?? If so, Yes I am scheduled February 13th. I'm at the end of every nerve with excitement.
  10. What I read is about concern for the liver. Even after one is healed up and well past surgery, the alcohol will put a far greater strain on the liver than it used to. That said....would ONE little drinky hurt? I wouldn't think so...I just don't know how far out from surgery.
  11. Send that scale to someone else's house for another month!!! Get it out!! It will play with your mind. Just let your body stabilize....
  12. You will be so busy getting life back together that the time will fly by. It'll be here before you know it!! Good decision. You need the best start you can get.
  13. Praying for you!!!
  14. Well, you can't argue with results!
  15. ...and who thought a pickle thread would go quite this far??
  16. I recently succumbed to the temptation of the hugantic, ginormous jar of Vlasic from Sam's Club. Don't go there hungry, people. It just takes you to a baaaad place. My surgery is in little more than two weeks. I'll never eat all those. I'll come home and those pickles will be in the back of the fridge......lookin' at me.....
  17. Your pre op diet depends on yer belly. Some people don't have to do but a day or two. I have two weeks staring down at me! Gotta get that liver out of the docs path! There are a couple folks going to my same surgeon who don't have to do two weeks. So...it all depends on where you carry your weight.
  18. OOOOHHHHHHH....Bummer!!!! That's hard. Sure, you should still be happy, but that still stinks!!!
  19. I hope you have good providence!
  20. My old addiction is quilting, but I never have much time. I think it's going to be my NEW old addiction once I get this done. It really takes my mind off of food. (Or is it...OLD new addiction....?)
  21. Just FYI, I only made one attempt at looking for GasX strips and it was when I went grocery shopping at Smith's. There they were just sitting there. (I've heard some people say they are hard to find in the stores.) In some places, Smith's is called Kroger, so they might have them there too.
  22. I thought it....you said it....
  23. (scribble scribble) Taking notes!!
