  1. Sweetie, everyone's body is different, and everyone's level of commitment and satisfaction is different. You have some like this woman who says, "eh. it is what it is" and some like Miss Diva who will go down fighting and never settle for mediocrity. If you WANT it, you can HAVE it! I know I'm going to take it! The brain has great power over the body. GO FIGHT WIN!!!! (p.s....I also am only responding to original poster, not anyone else's post or situation)
  2. i'm not there yet, so my question is...why does it have to be Greek yogurt? Is there more protein in it?
  3. Stress does horrible things to your body. It can greatly effect how well you heal. This whole situation will take your attention away from your after care schedule. As much as I know I would not want to delay the surgery another minute.... I would want quality healing for a lifetime of health. You may need to consider that.

It's ok, just breeeeaaathe.......and stop weighing so often. You know how hormones can make weight fluctuate. Like big daddy said...muscle gain can do that too. Muscle weighs more than fat, but more muscle burns more fat, so no worries. 43-45 lbs in 5 weeks is AWESOME. Do yourself a favor. Give the scale a rest. You're doing great!
  5. C'mon New Mexicooooo..... There's not a lot of skinny people heeeeere....what gives??
  6. Awww nooo...the Febreeze would have made me hurl for SURE!! That stuff shtinks! Glad it's going well!! I can't wait to get there myself.
  7. Nuttin' easy about it, kid. Most people don't understand that though. Don't need to tell anyone if you don't want to. Let them wonder why you're melting away. They'll make their own assumptions. Congrats on your date!
  8. Well, I'm REAAALLY hoping that this will be the kind of thing that will fluctuate with the days or months. Kinda like having a bad restaurant experience. You might have the best meal of your life one week and the next ...bad service, lousy cook, etc. I know this is more important to get right, but you take my meaning...
  9. OH OH!! When do they do the leak test? Soon after the surgery is over? I hope?
  10. Thanks! Eeeewie stress test. Had one of those years ago. Me no likie. I get to skip the gallbladder part. My gallbladder will not be in attendance. HOpe all goes well!
  11. Stop yer lurkin'!!! Hahaha! Welcome aboard!

    These lively conversations are great!
  13. I have one, and when i got it, i was SICKER THAN A DOOOOG for three months!! Whenever I have coughing spasms (from cold or flu) it makes me sick again. I will be SO SO SO glad to have that sucker sewn up! I do NOT touch heavy furniture anymore.
  14. Where is the pain exactly? I haven't been repaired yet, but the normal pain from my hernia is down below my sternum, so I don't know that swallowing will be effected...but I could be wrong...
  15. No problems since the site went down last week.
  16. Dr. David Kim in Colleyville. You?

Quite a bold pronouncement he made there. Sounds like he's still working out some things himself. I see this surgery as a "reset button" of sorts. I got to the point of choosing surgery BECAUSE my heart and mind are ready to live differently. However, my body is fighting me for every pound, so this surgery will help take the weight off and "reset" my body to a manageable place that I can fight to keep, because I'm so ready to do that. I hate food because it has consumed my life and I'm ready to beat it down! Subdue it underfoot! He really should have qualified that statement. That's all I'm sayin'....
  18. Congratulations you two!
  19. OH!!! I got cardiac clearance yesterday! YAAAYY!!! I am "low risk for a cardiac event" during surgery. He said I'm very healthy! (Other than my profound effect on gravity )
  20. I am going to Dallas to get this done, yet I live in New Mexico, so i do not have the advantage of popping over to my surgeon when concerned. That said, what tests did you have scheduled and what type of doc did you schedule it with? I like the idea...
