Oh and I forgot to mention they want me to lose 10% of my starting weight by the time I'm done with this diet ( or atleast that's the goal) so in seven months I need to lose about 39lbs. Also they said I will have a two week pre op liquid diet

So today was my initial consult for my insurance mandated diet. I have a 6 month diet ( they tell you seven though because of how the appts have to be for exp when I come back in feb that will be only one month not two) my weight as of today is 396.5 that's scary because I am teetering so close to 400 and the surgeon pretty much told me going over 400 could post pone my actualy surgery. What does my diet consist of you ask well this is what she had prescribed for me! Haha well I don't exactly know yet. For the first month they want me to journal and log everything ( she said I could use my fitness pal) and then I go back on the 20th of feb to meet w her again and meet with the dietician. Oh I found out today that I also have a vitamin d defienctce

Ok so I am home and loopy after my first pre surgerical producdurr. I had an edg done this morning. Dr did say I have a hiatal hernia but that he would take care if that when I have my actually surgery. So my question is what exactly is it and have any of you been told you have one

I haven't told any of my family either. The only ones who know are my husband mother and my best friend who is getting the surgery as well. I want to tell them so bad but afraid they won't be supportive. They say I need to lose weight I'm just afraid they would say I need to do it the natural way. But like my surgeons says. It's not that we can't lose the weight it's that we can't keep it off. I don't have a date yet.

i meet with the surgeon and my patient navigator. Went over medical history and scheduled more appts. Surgeon said I would make an excellent candidate for the sleeve. I have an order for a massive amount of blood work (including stool sample) I have an appt scheduled for and upper endoscopy ( where they put the tube down your through to check for hernias and stuff I have two appts scheduled for the 18th one for my behavioral health and one with the doc that will be doing my diet!!! I also have to have a mamogtam done as well and pay $100 for education classes. I am sooo excited to have this ball on a roll!!!!

I am like and emotional roller coaster right now I'm so excited and so nervous I have absolutely no idea what is going to go one with this appt. I am so excited to get it started though since I apparently have a 7 month diet I have to complete first. Anybody wanna fill me in on how their very first appt with the baratric center went?

I have my first initial consult on monday jan 2nd. i am so excited and cant wait. have really no clue what to expect. all i have done so far is gone to an information session.looking forward to seeing your post after your initial.

On Monday Jan 2nd I will have my first initial consult with my surgeon to start my journey. My appt is with Dr. Troy Glenbot of Winchester baratric center in Winchester Va. I would love to find someone who has dealt w Dr. Glenbot( or his associate Dr. weidower) or who is going thoroughly there process there now! I currently weight 393lbs my ideal body weight is supposed to be about 130-140 but ive been heavy for so long I just can't picture myself that small. As of right now I have a goal for myself of 150-175 so we shall see what the doc says

I can't stop thinking about it either! I wanna shout it from the rood tops but I'm not telling anyone. The one people who know are my mon, my husband, my best friend who is also planning to have surgery & my husband best friend/cousin!

*UPDATE* sooo woohoo I just got a phone call and my initial consult is scheduled for Jan 2nd at 1:30!!!! And it's looking like as far as insurance requirements I have to have a 7 month diet and do an 8 week phone thing through a program called healthy roads. ( they are saying they are scheduling surguries 6-8 wks adter ins approval so im think about august for my surgery)I also have to have clearance from my pcp. That's no orob heck I will get em a letter from both my pcp and my gyn! I am soo stinking excited this is the absolute best Christmas present ever!!!

*UPDATE* my initial consult us scheduled for January 2nd at 1:30. As far as insurance looks like I'm required to do a 7 month diet and an 8 week phone thing with a program called healthy roads. They said they ate typically scheduling appts 6-8wks after insurance approval. So if all goes well I'm looking at August for my surgery! I am so stinking excited this just totally made my Christmas!!!

Amen peace queen I totally am looking forward to that too. Can't wait till my husband can pick me up or is able to actually put his arms around me!!

Ohhh mullethead love the new bike idea I might have to add that for my 25lbs lost!!
