  1. Thanks! I'm on day 2 of liquids. Getting closer!
  2. I can't say for sure, but I would think at the very least you'd have to ensure that you're not somehow anemic. Especially if you're getting the lightheaded thing. I get a doc's clearance to do that. BTW, I listened to "It is well with my soul." AWESOME!!
  3. OOOoohhhh.... I text like an old lady. I have an opening, closing and in the middle I use caps, punctuation and spell e-v-e-r-y-thing out!!
  4. Dooter commented on circa's blog entry in I'm in control now.
Yaaaay!!! Oh my goodness, I'm getting so excited and nervous!
  5. Awwwww! I'm having surgery there, but not staying. Fooey.
  6. YAY!! Good to hear you're home!! (what's "smh"?) I hope your recovery is quick so you can start to love your sleeve!
  7. Shoot, cucumber does that on a normal stomach!
  8. My three best friends, my mom and husband. That's it. I like to lurk in the background, not be the center of attention. This kind of announcement would have waaaaaay too many people being up in my business. This forum is the one place where I feel like I can put it AAALLLL out there. And here is where it's staying! But that is a very personal decision for everyone. Not cowardly at all, either way!
  9. I was driving around yesterday and some sappy, mournful song was on the radio so I started feeling sad about my "last day" with food (liquids start today), so I changed the station and I ran into Motley Crue singing "SHE'S GOT THE LOOKS THAT KILLLLLL!!" And I instantly felt better!!! It's like that song was sent just for me!! hahahaha It's soooo worth it.
  10. Stop weighing for a while. Just enjoy the ride!
  11. Me too! Me too! Tomorrow morning girl! Here we go!!
  12. Ok. THis is making more sense now. I didn't THINK I was crazy!!
  13. Good Job!! And welcome to the forties!!! (it's the new 30 )
  14. Like it was stated initially- research your own Doc and find comfort in that. Too many variables in this articles that are not put forth, so it is a good warning to do thorough research.
  15. Good girl!! (scale) I've heard people use the Isopure Protein drink at this point because it's clear. (right people?) I would think that would give strength. Also, I think a sugar free Powerade or something similar might help rebalance you? I do not yet speak from experience, but these are things I've read.
  16. SahWEEEEEEEET!!!! My lifelong dream car!
  17. Hang on. The right person will read this soon... (I've not had surgery yet)
  18. You had me at "fit in my Corvette"!!! (swooooon)
  19. Sitting here right now, I feel like I'm gonna hurl. I've been going bug-nuts with the food funerals!! Someone stop me!!! Oh LORD please flip my switch, I start liquids Monday!!!
  20. I start liquids Monday. Not relishing the idea, but I know I can do it for 2 weeks standing on my head, because I was forced to do it for 3 months before. (Illness) It all depends on what motivates you. Personally, I am motivated by the fact that if I do NOT do the 2 week liquids, I will either get cut open like a fish or have the surgery canceled. That's not an option to me, so I will do it gladly and lap up every drop, num num num. Now, let's talk AFTER surgery: From what I've read on this forum, it's not too much of an issue. You've decreased your stomach size, and you've decrease your hunger hormone (grehlin). I've heard some say they are hungry after surgery, but most don't. I will be motivated to stick to liquids after the surgery because it will 1. Help me heal well and completely, decreasing the chance of developing a leak and 2. avoid unnecessary pain caused by eating too much too soon. If these things motivate you to stick to liquids when the time comes, then you will do fine. Just make sure you are committed to doing what you need to do to be successful. p.s....I've gained a few since I scheduled the surgery too....I think it's normal (ish)
  21. Dear Food, I know you think I'm stupid for talking to you because...well, you're food and you can't hear me. I just want to tell you that it's been quite a ride these last 42 years. We've had our ups and ups and ups and ups and downs and ups and ups. It's time for our relationship to change. I'm not breaking up with you, because I still need you to live, however, our relationship has to change now. And really....believe me when I say...It's not you. It's me. I'm the one with the problem, so don't ever blame yourself. You're really sweet. And salty. And delicious...OH WHAT AM I SAYING....how can we ever part?? NO!! We must part for a time. Two weeks- no more than five, I promise. When we come back together- things will be different. You must hide your sweetness from me. Don't tempt me further with your refinements. I want to see the REAL you....the one with all the vitamins and minerals and protein...yes...I said protein. Hey, I told you things were going to change. And for pete's sake, stop bringing your friends around! But don't worry...you'll always have a place...sorta...close to my heart... No, I didn't have a mental break. I start liquids Monday. (siiiigh)
