Is It Ok To Use Agave As Sweetner After Sleeve
Need to edit my last statement. Here is what I have on Agave from a trusted source: Agave syrup consists primarily of fructose and glucose. One source gives 92% fructose and 8% glucose, another gives 56% fructose and 20% glucose. These differences presumably reflect variation from one vendor of agave syrup to another. Due to its fructose content and the fact that the glycemic index only measures glucose levels, agave syrup is notable in that its glycemic index and glycemic load are lower than many other natural sweeteners on the market. However, the extremely high percentage of fructose (higher than that of high-fructose corn syrup) can be deleterious and can trigger fructose malabsorption, metabolic syndrome, hypertriglyceridemia, decreased glucose tolerance, hyperinsulinemia and accelerated uric acid formation. Low-carb diet advocate Dr. Michael Eades M.D. advises to "avoid it [Agave syrup] like death". Taken from Dan Jackowiak's website: yeastinfectionadvisor.com

Where Are You 200+Er's?
Right here with ya girls. Day 4 of pre op liquids behind me, and the road ahead looks looooong and hard. Please tell me I'm not going to want to eat the world after surgery, because this is rough. I knew it would be, I've experienced this before, but yikes...... (I have to remember my stomach is still football sized, replete with Grehlin.) So, ya.....we're still here Debi! How ya doin' Circa??

A Sudden End To Food Funerals
Ya, that's EXACTLY where I was last week. I could have written your post. Now that I'm on day 4 of liquids, and past the caffeine withdrawal, I'm having a big ol' pity party. I need to stay busy is what i need to do!

What about something with avocado? They're full of Omega 3's that are very important. A little guacamole? Dip some veggies in it?

diet coke
My surgeon is asking me to give up carbonation forever, as it can (possibly) over time, gradually contribute to stretching the stomach. If that is even a REMOTE possibility, I am never, never, NEVER going to touch it!!!! Why would I go through such a life altering event just to gratify my old desires? That's what got me in this mess in the first place! I understand the whole "one bite" thing with food....maybe....but if something risks stretching the stomach? I'm dropping it like a hot rock!!!

Protein Drink Shaker Bottle Suggestions?
At home I use a tiny blender to make my protein shakes. I would like something "for the road" that I can just shake it up, but the old kind of shaker I had was lousy (red lid with a tiny cap that comes off). The lid used to blow off when I'd shake the stuff up. What's out there, and where do I find it? Thanks for suggestions....

Hair Loss
By all accounts, it does grow back. Do NOT slack on your protein. My doc says the protein is important in managing the hair loss issue.

Panicked!
I'm not sleeved yet, but from everything I've read on here (which is a LOT), there are little bumps and bobbles. Believe it or not, 4 lbs is just a bump in the road. It does sound like getting off of a diuretic would cause a little bounce. Keep hammering on the water intake and I bet that will level out on it's own. If you've been overweight for any decent amount of time, you know what water weight does. I know this is TMI when talking to a guy, but I used to gain 6 to 10 lbs during an "aunt flo" visit, easily. Don't stress over this. Just keep doing what you're doing. It'll happen. You're doing great!

No Coffee + Preop Diet = Headache
OH gravy, the headaches are just indescribable for me. I'm 3rd day of liquids right now, and today was good. The first two days, I had headaches that rivaled a migraine. I am glad I did it now and not day of surgery. My doc does not want people fighting with caffeine withdrawal while trying to see where you are in healing from surgery. Once I get home I'll be able to have 1 cup a day. There's really no way to combat the headache. You just have to push through. At least that was my experience.

How Does The Stomach Heal Together From Vsg Surgery? Can Anyone Tell Me?
Well, NOW what I'm wondering is about the INSIDE of the stomach. Will small things get stuck in the crack? Like..seeds, and fibrous foods and such? Do you know what I mean?

Sex?!?!?!?! Omg Someone Help Me?!
Yep. It's those hormones a raging. Once you lose weight, they start flowing the way they're supposed to. Every time I start losing, I chase my hubby around the house like a crazy woman. I can't wait for that to kick in again!!
