  1. I knowwwwww how you feel! Just hang in there. Have your pity party today, then tomorrow, pick yourself up and look forward to dropping, because it will happen!!
  2. Sometimes you can kick yourself out of a stall by shaking things up a little, like lower your carbs drastically for a few days and increase your cardio exercises or something like that. Everyone has a different thing that works for them, so just change up a couple things that you know will normally work for you and see what happens.
  3. Hi there! I wish you good providence in your journey. Sounds like you got a good man there. Don't let him go! Keep us up to date on your surgery plans.
  4. I bought a pair of 20's on a whim today and thought I'd just keep them in reserve and try them on every now and then for encouragement. Well...I WAS ENCOURAGED!!! They fit!!! I could NOT believe what I was seeing. My mind still sees 349 pounds, not 285. I'm pretty sure my wedding dress was a 20. I'm going to pull it out soon to see if it fits again. I might wait 10 more pounds for that though.... Wow. I'm still in stunned disbelief!! This is......just....I I I I I...don't have words. I'm giddy!!!
  5. Isn't that the BEST feeling??
  6. Good for you! Congratulations! I'm glad all went well.
  7. You are reeeeally early to be eating beef. At 3 weeks I was still on protein shakes and creamed soups. I don't know what plan you've been given, so I'm not saying you're breaking the rules or anything, but it's not a real wonder that you feel bad. Once that happens it usually subsides in a half an hour, (for me, anyway). There's not much you can do to speed it up either. I agree that lying down would be bad. I hope you feel better soon. Do NOT drink anything until you can tell the food has cleared out, or you will go from bad to worse.
  8. OMIGOSH!! I didn't even know you could do that from your profile now! Mine was created on an external website. NICE! If I figure it out, I'll tell ya!
  9. OK, I'm in too. I think I need a little inspiration. I will put myself in for 10 lbs. and upping my exercise to 5 days a week from 3. Starting at 285.9 (hey those decimals are important! ) July 4th Challenge weight goal: 275 So, that would be 10.9 pounds
  10. LOL no, I should have stated that more clearly
  11. Yaaaayyyy!!!! (Dancing with ya!!!)
  12. Oh, ya, I know they USED the tube. I'm just saying most of us don't wake UP with the nasty thing.
  13. Of course in the full liquid phase, you're not going to get a lot of full feelings. That will come with blended foods more.
  14. It's kinda weird- i could not tell when I was full either, then I realized that whenever I got full, I would get this strange pressure....behind my EYES. Very weird, I know, but it is still consistent. If I get too too full I get the eye pressure AND an instant headache. Other than that, I just get an "uncomfortable" feeling in my stomach region. I know....not very helpful, but we all have different and strange reactions to this surgery.
  15. Most people that have a leak at 3 months or more have had it since the early weeks and it is discovered later. This is a very very very low chance of happening. (Of course for the person who HAS the leak it is 100%, right?) Be confident in your surgeon's leak record. That's what kept me calm. There are symptoms that accompany most leaks, so an undetected leak is an even slimmer chance. I was also told that the major leak zone is in the 4-6 week range.
  16. Not everyone gets all this stuff. I did not have a tube, I have never once "slimed" and my stomach does not make any noises that anyone else can hear. Everyone has a different assortment of all the things you hear about. None of it is 100% sure of having them. No worries!!
  17. Yep. I'm at 3 1/2 months, and it has just started coming out in handfuls. BUT everyone says it grows back. I lost a lot when I started menopause, and it grew back then too. I am confident that it will. And the bonus is....it will probably grow back in curly! Woo Hoo!
  18. YAAAAAY Good job!!!!! Congratulations!!
  19. It was kinda nasty but I really needed it because of the hernia repair. It was quite painful, so I took every drop of two whole bottles for two weeks. You may not need much or any. I used low sugar apple or grape juice as a chaser. That helped a LOT.
  20. LOVE IT!!! Keep it up dude!!! I love the downward graph! It's such fun to watch it drop. We'll be waiting!
  21. Ya, I think a lot of this is her own personal experience, which is real for her, but I have not had any of the issues she speaks of. Muscle cramping can happen to anyone on the planet if they are dehydrated. My husband gets that in his legs when he doesn't drink enough. (He's a skinny boy...). I would not worry about any of it. If you follow orders, you should be fine.
  22. I'm only 3 minutes into this video, but right off, my hackles are up because she's lumping sleevers in with bypass patients with deficiencies and other issues. My Vitamin D levels were down PRE op. Since my surgery (3 1/2 months) I've been really bad about getting my Vitamins in, but I'm eating SOOO much better now, that I do NOT have any vitamin deficiencies whatsoever. I did get some good vitamins from my cardiologist that I can stomach and have been good about taking them for the last 2 weeks, so I feel even better. The typical diet any of us were on was sooo lacking in nutrition, that most of us were overweight and malnourished- if that makes any sense....anyway...I'm going to watch the rest of the video now. Oh ya-- I do not have any cramping issues, to answer your original question..... (I say all of this in good spirit, not angry or anything ) I also believe she is mistaken about where most of the nutrients are absorbed. I've always heard that most nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine.
  23. I usually drink right up until I start eating with no problem. then I stop. I accidentally took a drink after I ate one time, and figured out EXACTLY why we're not supposed to do that. There was no room for liquid and it caused great pain and discomfort and I almost hurled. I can't believe I didn't. When you're stomach is that small.... you don't need to crowd out the food. I now watch the clock carefully before i drink.
  24. Three and a half months out and I jus had about 3 oz of red wine the other day and bloated like a christmas turkey! Had to push liquids the next day. Didn't feel too great.
