Best Nsv Ever - Made My Day!
That is so cute!! That's great!! I asked my son the other day (the brutally honest 9 y.o.) if I look any different now, and he's was like "oh ya- like....WAY!"

Pre Op Size Vs Post Op Sizes
My highest size pre op was 30, and I even had a couple of 32 tops. I now wear a 20!

Sleeved 4-24-12 What Were/are You Eating And How Much?
I think that amount is fairly typical. I think I was a freak in that sense. I did not have the post op swelling I was hoping for, so my capacity once I got on to blended foods quickly increased to 6 oz. At 6 weeks, I was easily eating six ounces. I'm at 4 months now and can eat 6 or 8 oz of anything non-protein, but when it comes to straight Protein like tuna or chicken- I can get maybe 3 or 4 oz down at once. Sometimes a little more. I think you're right on par.

So...preop Diet Tanked But Lost 5 Lbs.
OK YOU NAUGHTY BOYS!! SHAPE IT UP!! Patrick- you're doing great! This is the hardest part. Once you're sleeved, things will get a lot easier to handle. During my 2 weeks pre op liquids, several people nearly had some ugly accidents at my hand. (and quit eating Mexicans, even if he WAS your favorite! ) Disneyteach- You be careful with that new sleeve!! You are only supposed to have a 6 oz capacity, so don't go bustin' it up! You are still in the danger zone. Don't go causing leaks and whatnot, k? I worry about my boys!!

I Discovered My Krytonite
You know- pasta always did that to me when I had a full-sized stomach! I always felt over full and just kinda bad. I haven't tried it and I'm 4 moths out almost, and... sounds like I might not. I've got some Quinoa pasta I might give a try one day.

Food Cheating
For the first time in my life, I can honestly say I did not do that, not even close. I soooo wanted my sleeve to heal perfectly, that I was not tempted in the least. After 42 years I finally learned that a little sacrifice today means great rewards tomorrow. From pre op liquid diet to the day I got to have blended food was 5 weeks. 5 of the hardest weeks I can remember, but totally worth it.

Sf Hard Candies Ok?
Pre op, I used the HECK out of them!! Like the sugar free varieties of lifesavers, jolly ranchers, brach's sf butterscotch. That kept me sane. Post op, I did not pick them up again until I was cleared for a bit more of a solid food- like Lissa said, you don't want to cause trouble with your new baby sleeve.

How Many Carbs A Day?
Well, the general guidelines I got from my doc for my day to day diet includes 10% of total calories can be carbs: 800 calories = 80 carbs. I stalled big time at 3 weeks out. Lasted for six weeks. I finally started by cutting my carbs in half, then I just kept lowering them until I started losing again. It may be a different number for everyone. I think 30 is generally considered low, Although, when i was on an Atkins type diet, 30 was outrageously high. So...do what your body responds to within the bounds of your medical advice. Also, I increased cardio and cut out weights.

Question For The Ones That Hit The Plateu Or Stall
Yep. I was doing everything perfectly, and still stalled out for six weeks. I finally dropped my carbs lower and started doing cardio only and stopped the weights for now. That seemed to kick me back into motion.

Is "banding" The Sleeve A Common Practice?
I have not heard of this at all, and I did some pretty extensive research on WLS when I started all of this. I must've missed that. Fairly new thing, I'm guessing.

Sleeved May 30Th.. In So Much Pain.
Well honey, it's only been 2 days!! You've been under the slice and dice! I promise you it will get better. Do exactly as you've been told (drink, walk, breathe) and take your pain meds, and it will slowly get better. Just be patient with yourself. I agree with PDXman. Prop yourself up. Lots o pillows, recliner, whatever works. It'll get better.

Dr.'s Scale? Bring It On! An Actual Scale Victory...
I've always hated weighing at the doctor, because for one thing, I was always higher than the last visit. And...my home scale was always 5 lbs lighter than any other scale on the planet (but I still insisted it was correct and THEY were wrong). Noooowwwww however, one surgery, and one new scale later....I have them shuffling through their paperwork muttering.... "wait a minute...that can't be right.....this says.....wait....you couldn't have lost... WHAT???" HAHAHAHA I love it!!!! Most doctors only see sick people. I've gotten to see the cardiologist and family doc get all happy because I'm getting HEALTHIER! Pretty good feeling folks. Wouldn't you agree??

Stall Is Over!
YAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!! Feels good to break the stall!!

Drinking Before, After And During Meals?
Wow, that is so weird!! I get tragically ill when I do that! It could be because I'm still only a few months out, but it's enough to deter me...well....indefinitely!
-
6 Week Stall!
One thing is certain around here-- ALL stalls are temporary. They can seem like an eternity. I stalled for 6 weeks also. I thought I'd die waiting for it to break. I had to take some actions, but I started moving down again. A lot of people need this encouragement. Thanks for posting!

Soooo Disappointed!
Awwwww I'm so sorry!! I'm very sad for you. This could be the Lord's way of telling you that the Vets need you here!! It's a closed door because you're meant to go through another. I hope you find fulfillment wherever you serve.

Is It Normal To B Hungry Every 2-3 Hrs?
I had the same problem around that time. I was ravenous some days! It freaked me out. It wAs explained to me that the Grehlin hormones were still running around in the system and it takes a couple of months to clear out. I'm happy to report that that has gone away. Yes. Stay full on low fat proteins!

2 Weeks Out And Cheating With Solids
Never never never drink when you eat. Did I mention never? You will---as you found out---throw up. You only have ONE chance to heal, so do it right. Be good girl.
