  1. This is another thing that varies by doctor. But generally they want you to fast before a fill. I would't eat anything in the morning. Basically they don't want anything stuck in your band when you go for a fill. Which we all know can take hours for something to pass. Good luck with your fill. If you get woozy at all with needles make sure you let the doctor know before hand.
  2. I did great! 3.4 pounds down..but I guess I'm still at 216..lol. I had gained the previous 2 weeks..I tell ya. It's a war. Gratz on winning the tshirt! I'm sooo jealous. I have like 7k points to go till I get one through the Fitlinxx system. hehe. I would probably have it already but I waited months till I got signed up on it like a dork. LOL Wow and you did an hour and a half on the treadmill! I can't take it that long..I'm sooo bored! Even with a good magazine..lol. In fact I think I'm gonna do another spin class just so I don't have to do the treadmill one more day..LOL Good job hon!
  3. Saturday...30 minute weight class..but really it was just killer leg lifts and ab work..omg..sometimes i think my ab muscles are just gonna break off or something..LOL...then 24 minutes on treadmill..with some running..wow my heartrate got up to 170..lol..not so good..so didn't do alot of running..
  4. Honestly I haven't even looked at them in over 3 years so I bet there are better alternatives now. Maybe I will..thanks for the info
  5. You are so like me..yeah I can eat bread too..not a huge amount..but I certainly have no trouble with a mcdonalds regular hamburger or half a sandwich. In fact Subway is where I'm at alot. I can't eat the whole thing but at least I know what I'm eating..its convenient and healthy.
  6. The only ones I found I could stomach were over 200 calories. It's amazing what I can really find to eat for 200 calories and still have a decent amount of protein.
  7. I just can't do protein shakes anymore. Really burnt out of them. Even the thought just gags me. The other thing is there's a ton of calories in those suckers. Like another poster said I also don't go nuts with the protein. I always am on the lookout though for food with high protein..beans..eggwhites..that sort of thing. But I cannot do protein shakes anymore. Oh man the bad breath I had too..ughh..nope just can't.
  8. Sorry to say but it sounds like an inexperienced fill doctor. There are a hugeeee difference in fill doctors. If there is more than one available at the place u go to you might wanna just try a different one. Wow sorry to hear it went so badly.
  9. Well had spin class last night. Went really well, expecially with the new shoes. I had a new girl next to me and the poor thing could barely do any of it. It just dawned on me how far I have progressed in the class with my stamina. Funny that I hadn't really realized it. Also did 60 crunches. I'm gonna gradually keep increasing them. I weigh in today..blah..wish me luck. I gained last week..
  10. In the end..it's still about calories in..and calories going out..we cannot get around this. Also remember that your surgery is deemed a success if you have lost 40% of your total weight needed to loose. For me thats basically what it did for me. So if you want to go further your going to have to burn more calories then you take in. It's all in how bad u want it really. I too plataued for a year..gained about 10 pounds back and it finally dawned on me. I gotta do my part. It's really up to you now. If you want to keep eating around the band by grazing then thats whats going to happen..your gonna keep gaining weight back. Sorry its no magic pill.
  11. Well I figured it had something to do with the blood rushing down my hands from walking. If i did keep my hands up it was far better. Now I sort of hang onto the treadmill or eleptical so they are elevated. I dunno but its really annoying. Glad I'm not the only one with the hands thing.
  12. I lived on runny mashed potatoes made from a package with some melted cheddar cheese. It was heaven I remember. LOL..also tomato soup was a fav.
  13. Yeah i have some special socks but no gel inserts. I think that would take up more room. anyways I think its just something odd with me. I used to have this with my hands when I would do alot of walking. They would swell up like sausages. That doesn't happen anymore. So I dunno. I think I'm just a weirdo
  14. here's my look at all this. First of all you will find in time that its very easy to eat around the band if you want to (ie grazing). So yes I'm not eating the huge volumes of food I was before..but I can easily keep on snacking all day long if I don't watch myself. I do weight watchers because it is just another tool to help me realize what is going on with my eating habits. For a couple of years I refused to count calories..cause I also thought thats why I had the surgery was so I didn't have to think about my weight loss anymore..it would just "happen". So with me..the band would take me so far without me thinking about what went into my mouth..I lost about 60 pounds over the years..but then I was stuck and started fluctuating 10 pounds back and forth. Soo I got sick of weight loss stalling and figured I had to do more to get to the end. In fact the doctor's all told me I would have to do my part too..I just really didn't listen I think. Anyways..so I started picking up excercise and also decided on weight watchers. It's been great to get me going again. Anyways everyone has to do their own thing and figure out what works. It's a war I tell ya no matter what
  15. Well did 20 minutes on the eleptical last night..guess what...still got numbing feet!!..although not as bad. I don't get why this is happening. I'm going to have to talk with my trainer. Also did circuit machines for 25 minutes and 60 crunches Off on wednesday..thursday spin class!
  16. Size 10 in womens..now im 11.5..LOL..blah..thank god im tall eh?..lol
  17. The don't work in the long run? Wow I can't believe doctors get away with saying this stuff. What kind of stats do they have to back that up? Soo annoying. Gee I've had mine for 4 years..what do they consider the long run? LOL..I mean nothing is perfect. I have a friend that her band slipped...I also have another friend with the bypass that gained all her weight back. So I dunno. It's not a perfect world but geeze it annoys me when doctors are spreading this kind of nonsense.
  18. Ask how many surgeries the doctor has performed. What are the pre surgury tests that are needed. How long does it take to get set up with a surgery date? Is there a pre-surgery diet? How long will I be out of work? How do you do fills and where are they performed? Fill schedule? Are fills covered by insurance or paid out of pocket? Is there a psychiatric screening required? Thats about all I can think of. Good luck. Glad you are researching
  19. Well had step aerobics class and it was lovely with the new shoes! I also got brave and actually put a level on the stepper thing. If you know what I mean, so it was a little tougher. Man it was a good workout also did my 50 crunches before class.
  20. okay been banded since Feb 2003. Never had reflux before banding. Started getting reflux after my fourth fill. Went and had things checked out. doc said my pouch looked good. I told him about the reflux. He said to first try not eating past 7 or 8 pm depending on when u go to sleep. That really helps me tremendously. I can almost guarantee if I eat late I'm going to have reflux. But if I'm really stressed out..I'll have it anyways..just because of how tight the band is. Anyways I'm living with it as is. Although I have had nights where I'm literally up all night with it. The second I fall asleep..it comes right up. Soooo annoying! Well hope this helps.
  21. Spin class is great for the legs and butt..I have noticed a big difference already. I'm even gonna add on another class during the week. I think spin class is the best class u can do. Just try it
  22. Big news!!...I don't think I posted about this yet. But I went to a real shoe store geared towards runners called the Runners Edge. Anyways they were fabulous. Had me walk on a treadmill and analyze my walking pattern and stuff. Turns out I was wearing a size and a half too small..LOL. Apparently I have clown feet at size 11.5. :car: Anyways the new shoes feel amazing and I get to try them out tonight at step aerobics class. I didn't work out yesterday cause I was at my moms all weekend. I was really bad this weekend and just took some time for me and ate some junky stuff too. I think I needed it..anyways..back on the wagon today. :car: Moral of the story if your having any trouble with your shoes get out and go to a real shoe store geared for running or exercise in general.
  23. Yeah finally a free saturday and no date..sigh What is wrong with me..argghhh..two guys that I thought were interested just decide to fall off the face of the planet..lol..I don't get it
  24. Well part of my issue is my feet fall asleep when im on the thing..i would never make it that long..going out to get a good fitting shoe this time with someone that actually knows what they are doing.
  25. yeah I couldn't do 66 on the eleptical..no way
