  1. When I was banded I was trapped (or at least I thought I was) in an abusive relationship with my daughters father. I had zero self esteem and I knew I had to do something for my sake and my daughters. So the band helped me get alot of my confidence back and eventually I figured out how to get him out of my life for good. yeah! and Jesse nice arms hon
  2. I'm a bit freaked out being sick and not being able to exercise. Afraid im gonna fall off the wagon I think. Hopefully I can go tomorrow. Still sick as a dog with this cold. >< I found a trick in one of those girlie magazines i read while on the treadmill. Taking water bottles and working out your arms. I'm doing that im my cube right now..LOL. While its not alot of weight, I do feel something. If my neighbors only knew..lol..wait maybe they hear the sloshing of the water..LOL
  3. I've never heard of any bandster going bald because of it. It's just you do loose a fair amount of hair is all. And it does come back! well at least most of it in my case. See look at my picture..I'm not bald..and it's been 4 years. No worries
  4. Yep..been a long journey Remember its not how fast u get there..its just that u get there eventually and stay there..
  5. Yep sure did.. I was in a panic too. There isn't really much you can do about it from all the research I've seen. My conclusion is this is what happens when your body is in shock from the surgery and losing weight quickly. I've heard all the stories..oh its the anastesia..blah blah. Let m e tell you I've had plenty of surgeries with anestesia and losing my hair has never happened. Also changing so much of your eating habits. It happened to me and seems like alot of other at around 4 months out of surgery. My morning ritual was combing my hair in the car and just throwing the hair out the window. That's how bad it was. But don't worry it does stop and does grow back. I looked like a rooster for awhile when it was growing back..lol
  6. Mostly kidney beans I would say. I love them in turkey chili (my best band meal) and on top of a salad. I also use non-fat refried beans alot. You can make a taco and not even miss the meat. Black beans, navy beans...eat alot of beans in Soup. I don't even know what kind really I just see beans and I know thats a good bet. I'm kind of bad with Protein. I can't stand to count grams. I just really try and focus on high protein foods and figure it'll work out. So far so good after 4 years. Did you know that Special K Cereal had 8 grams of protein per serving and thats before the skim milk!
  7. I came down with a cold..>< Gonna have to cancel my appt with my trainer tonight. Man I hate this
  8. Don't forget about Beans peeps...I survive on beans I swear.. I'm also am so burnt out on Protein shakes I can't touch em. I'm gonna try tilapia..i soo want to like fish..really i do
  9. I'm actually north of the city in the burbs..near Gurnee
  10. Wow..yeah it's amazing. I feel like telling him I hope the game gives ya a good bj too..LOL...bad me..LOL The sad thing is I had this guy out of my life for a long time..and he begged me...BEGGED for another chance..and then the same crap happens..LOL..so ridiculous I think I'm gonna be single forever..LOL..I'm just keep saying over and over in my head that I don't need a man to be happy in my life.
  11. Is it pathetic when a guy puts a video game before you? Honestly..I'm a gamer...so I understand that games can consume you. But I always know what my priorities are in life..and a game is not gonna be a priority over someone I'm interested in. This was a problem before with this guy..and i thought he changed..since he kept on saying he did. What a waste of time..again..lol
  12. Monday Night 35 minutes on treadmill...15 minutes on machines did 50 crunches also..
  13. Okay Friday took that off..Saturday did my workout class..its always good for really working the muscle groups. Not really a cardio class. After class did another 15 minutes on the Eleptical. Sunday did 23 minutes on treadmill, 13 minutes on eleptical..machines for 15 minutes
  14. Yep no weight loss this week...wth..how can that be? I worked my ass off..arggh
  15. Yeah carbonation is tricky. At first my doc said no carbonation at all..then about 6 months after surgery the nutritionist said one a day is okay as long as u sip it slowly. Although I have to admit that sometimes I'm bad with this and end up having to PB a gas bubble up..cause yes its painful as hell if it gets stuck. I can still burp just sometimes. I got kind of bad with it fell into the same old habits..drank too many. Now I'm focused on just one a day and lots and lots of water. If you can give it up entirely..good for you..it is the best way
  16. Thursday night - 20 minutes on eleptical, 15 minutes on the treadmill with short burts of running , worked on legs on the machines for 10 minutes..feel the burn! I'm getting pissy about the scale..sigh..weighing in today with weight watchers..we'll see
  17. You gotta really watch how late your eating. This is what stops the reflux for me. I know exactly what your talking about and its not fun at all. It's also dangerous. For me I try not to eat past 8 pm then no issues
  18. I'm having a fight with the scale too JC..I don't get it. Really frustrating. I'm working my ass off and its not going down. Argghhh
  19. Well only got in 25 minutes of treadmill but I ran like 3 short burts during that time. I wasn't feeling so hot...all of a sudden was feeling bloated which sucks while trying to exercise. So I cut it short. Also worked on my arms some and abs for 10 minutes on the machines. Wednesday is my day off..
  20. I signed up for a class! Starts in September! I'm soo excited! I made darn sure I could go at my own pace and that they accepted noobies. Let's hope this works out for me
  21. Hi there, I was faced with the same dilema. I work full time. I'm a single mother of a 6 year old. So what finally worked for me is getting a membership at the YMCA which has free child care for 2 hours. I look at it as a break from my kid too! The real trick is..packing up your work clothes before you go to work and bringing them with you. I pick up my daughter and go straight there. There is no way it would work if I went home first. I know this. I even feel bad cause the dog is sitting at home with his legs crossed but he seems to be okay. So yeah if you really want to fit in exercise u just have to figure out what works for you and make it a routine. Good luck..it sure is worth it if you do! Di
  22. Yeah I'm gonna give it a shot. I just don't expect anything. Thats the key. Then I'm not disapointed if the same crap happens again. He has what I call the "commitaphobe" complex. But now he keeps on talking about how freeked he is that he's turning 29..*gasp oh noes*..lol. So I'm hoping he's ready to settle down a bit now.
  23. Thats so funny that you guys brought up the collar bone. I just had that surprise yesterday! Yep..I have collarbones! I was just standing there gazing in there mirror. Poking the indents..LOLLL I do this thing where I find myself moving out of the way for people when I really don't have to anymore. They can get by just fine..LOL. I still think my ass is hanging out in the way...hehe I can't fricken weight to get out of the plus sizes though..Damn tummy is keeping me there. I dunno why my waist isn't shrinking as fast as the rest of me. I'm blaming it on childbirth.
  24. Yes don't give up!! I had to go through hell to get mine approved. But really if you are determined it's amazing what you can do with insurance companies. I had two denials even though I knew my insurance covered it. So lucky for me a good friend of mine also wanted the surgery and was in my HR department and started to get things going there. It turned out that Humana generally didn't cover the insurance, but my companies agreement with Humana says that they did. Soooo after going through hoops. Figuring out where the approval department was located. Getting really lucky and talking to someone who had a gastric bypass in the approval department I got approved! Took me 6 months. I was the first one approved. 6 others followed me after from my company..lol. There were sooo many hoops to go through. I was told I was the first one at Humana to get approved..LOL. I even had an HMO and there was no doctors in network that would do the surgery. Dr. Horgan was the only one nearby who would. So I got it approved out of network even. All in all..the surgery cost me 100 bucks Weeeeee Almost 4 years later couldn't be happier. Just stay focused and don't give up! Good luck Di
