  1. I lost almost 30 pounds doing her work outs everyday either 1 mile or 5 miles...lately tho I've been noticing that I need to change up my work out...so I got brazil butt-lift which is AWESOME ...I only did it one day so far and my butt is sore let me tell you!
  2. Horsegirl, My Grandma is the same exact way. Shes said multiple hurtful things over the years to me and my Mother who was once overweight. On a few occasions she has been like "Can I ask you something? I just need to know, how did you get SO BIG?" And I always just say to her well Gram how do you think? I ate! I had 6 surgeries from the time I was 14-19 and was stuck in bed for many years because of it, never getting excersise, and eating! I always tried to make light of it because I didn't want it to go any further but it always bothered me...she even made my Mom cry with her comments. Then I had the same thing happen with this b***h of a co-worker who was talking behind my back saying the same exact thing...asking how I got so big..its like...what a stupid freakin question!
  3. Greekie- I just got approved today and got the same surgery date- Feb. 8th!!! I am soo excited and I start my diet on the 25th too! Its the same one too I'm pretty sure. Where are u from? I'm in Connecticut. So Glad that I don't have to worry anymore about not getting approved!! And ElizabethAnne, you have to wait 24 months??? I have never heard of that before, thats soo long!!!!
  4. I was very healthy when I weighed 180...I might go lower than that but that's if I can...I'm 5'6 also....and let me add that at that weight I had NONE of the health problems that I do now. The main reason I am doing this is to generally FEEL better inside AND out ...I don't think I need you to remind me, xavier, the reason why I am doing this for myself...we can talk about how we are going to look afterwards all we want...I'm sure YOU did also!
  5. Well I don't want to loose my curves at all so my goal is about 180..I don't want to be super skinny! I haven't lost the weight yet but I'd say if you loose too much then yeah ur gonna loose them!
  6. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what happened to me too! My surgeon originally was set to have me banded in December! Obviously that didn't work out...because they sent my paperwork in over a month ago, only to have them come back 3 days later saying I needed to see a cardiologist. I was pissed because I felt like, why didn't they tell me this already? I could have had that appointment done weeks if not months ago! Ugh, its over with now but I was very annoyed at the time...and I went to the Cardiologist a couple of weeks ago..so my paperwork was resubmitted last Monday...She actually called me on Friday, but called the wrong phone number...so by the time I got the message they were CLOSED. GRRRR was I upset that I had to wait the weekend! lol. I haven't even been to bed yet and I might as well just stay up cuz they will be open in an hour lmao...I really hope she called to tell me I got approved!!!
  7. I have been trying to get my lap band for over a year now. I was told that my insurance required 6 months worth of doctors visits, whether its with the surgeon or nutritionist, it both counts...but what they failed to tell me was that they had to be back to back appointments. And a couple of times I had to reschedule an appointment resulting in me having to start all the way over...which was devastating let me tell you...this happened around June of last year. Fast forward to now, FINALLY I have finished my six months and all of the required testing. All in all it was a good thing for me though to have to wait because it was more time to get prepared and now I'm ready for sure..and have lost just about 30 pounds to boot. Good luck and don't skip an appointment! Make sure you see somebody every month.
  8. You only need to loose 44 pounds. Do you really want to have the lap band put into you for that? You look soo pretty....hardly overweight.....maybe just bump up your excersise? Most of us here would kill to be your weight!
  9. Plastic surgery is NOT an option for me. I won't be getting it...Not only do I not want to but I wouldn't be able to afford it...and I'm terrified of excess skin so I want to have slow and steady weight loss, and I will be excersising like mad...plus I'm only 24 so I hope thats gonna be on my side as well.
  10. Hey good for you honey- you must feel awesome! Its so funny when stuff like that happens ...I've been with my mom when she had people not recognize her also and its great! I can't wait until people are doing the same thing to mee!!! hehe!! P.S. LoL I thought you were going to say that she was gonna ask you hey who are you going through my neighbors mail?!?! LoL!
  11. Sorry to be a buzz kill but your BMI is wayy too low for the insurance to cover you I believe.
  12. Hmm I really hope you are ready to exercise after a month! My doctors instructions say I can start exercising as soon as I feel I'm up to it and that even the most vigorous work outs won't effect the port. Just see what you can do but take it easy obviously. But I want to start exercising ASAP after surgery so I can start toning my body! Your young too like me so you have that on your side and should bounce back quick. Good Luck with everything! - Stephanie
  13. I don't feel like typing my whole story for the millionth time right now but you can find posts from me talking about the different issues I've had with my insurance and surgeons office....its been a year long process and now I'm FINALLY just waiting on approval....it may sound like its gonna be easy as you type the steps out but its never that easy....there will be bumps on the road no matter what...and think of it as more time to get yourself mentally prepared for this...because that's what it did for me. There may be people out there who got lucky with not having to do all of these steps and good for them but often times it will be lots of waiting and hoping. Good luck with everything!
  14. Hey there....Did you loose weight or is this your starting weight? You look great anyway hun!!
  15. You don't need to wait 6 months for your insurance? I know you are excited but don't count on it all happening too quickly. I had many, many bumps in the road...Its been over a year now for me getting everything together and I finally just now am only waiting on approval cuz I got everything done! Good luck to you!
  16. I haven't had the band yet but from what I understand it varies between everybody. Its not always going to be the same for every person...If you've lost at all I'd say you were doing good....how much have you lost?
  17. Not to be a downer cuz I know ur super excited..but If I were you I'd double double check because we've all read the posts from people who get told they are covered with a copay and just before surgery get told its not!
  18. Mom2hunterandhailey....did you loose any weight since having the band in 2010?
  19. Okay I just figured it out! Click on the person you want to add's nickname, and view their profile, then on the top right you will see the "add as friend" option!
  20. I've searched everywhere on this site including Help- and can't figure out how to add a friend on this site! How do I do it?!
  21. Do you want to go into Chat and see if thats working? I'm in there now...if you wanna meet me there!
  22. I don't use firefox anymore because it uses up WAYY too much space but when I tried IE, the same thing happened....how annoying! LoL Instead of spending every night playing pool online now I was coming on here and reading posts all night....now I'm lost lol
  23. Stephy- I am having the same problem. Mostly all of the posts, blogs, and even topics pages I try to click on gives me a error message...this is what it says: Server error The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.lapbandta...day-is-our-day/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions: Reload this webpage later If I click on reload, nothing happens...but it will let me go back to the page I was on...what is going on here?...I am assuming its just what it says...maintenance?
  24. Mrsmyers2010- I have the same issues with my period! Its so weird...I thought I had some sort of STD or something horribly wrong, so I got tested for everything, and I don't even have a bacterial infection! So, they are going to do a pelvic ultrasound on me to see what may be wrong- because I have soo many symptoms...including REALLY long periods like sometimes they will last a month straight and most of the time its either really heavy or just brown...really big blood clots...odor..having to pee RIGHT NOW or else I pee my pants..discharge...I mean..I was terrified something was severely wrong! But so far, there isn't! Is this what they told you too? Do you have any of these symptoms also? Because...I haven't had the pelvic ultrasound yet, I'm going Friday...but I started to think the same thing ..that its my weight! And I guarantee you that if my test comes out fine they will say it has something to do with my weight. Cuz it wasn't like this when I weighed less! It makes sense. My PCP said that I was cleared for surgery though.
  25. Ugh geez that is so terrible! How can they do that to you? That is something they should have told you from the beginning, why a change all of a sudden? Do you have proof in writing that they approved you the first time with the $1000 copay? I feel so bad for you.
