So my question is for people who have already been banded. If you have a hourglass shape will losing the weight make you lose your curvy shape?

Well I don't want to loose my curves at all so my goal is about 180..I don't want to be super skinny! I haven't lost the weight yet but I'd say if you loose too much then yeah ur gonna loose them!

I think we all want to look good and vanity is part of that. Your shape will be similar but smaller...maybe like wen you were younger.

But I just want to remind everyone that the real reason for doing this is your health and living a long life to see your kids grow up etc. I dont think we should set goals on how our curves look but rather on health risk...normal BMI means the same risk as everyone else who is not overweight. So if you want your curves and to set your goal in the 'overweight' range you are still at elevated health risk. Just my opinion..

I still have the same shape of body - just less of it. I've always been bigger on top and skinnier on the bottm. Hasn't changed. I wish I had an hourglass figure! I wear a size 6 or 7 on the jeans - while I'm wearing an XL on top. Oh well. Better than 3X that I was wearing 2 yrs ago! So, your shape should remain the same just a little (or a lot!) smaller!

I was very healthy when I weighed 180...I might go lower than that but that's if I can...I'm 5'6 also....and let me add that at that weight I had NONE of the health problems that I do now. The main reason I am doing this is to generally FEEL better inside AND out ...I don't think I need you to remind me, xavier, the reason why I am doing this for myself...we can talk about how we are going to look afterwards all we want...I'm sure YOU did also!

exactly ! I want to be healthy but health is also a matter of feeling beautiful. I feel beautiful now, I just know that I need to lose weight. I don't want any health problems associated with obesity. I would rather get this handled before its out of control.... but no matter what I think I'll be sexy... it was just a concern... thank you all for your replies

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
