Average Weight Loss

Hello everyone

I am a newbie and trying to figure out what I am doing. I had my lap band surgery back in August 2011. Can you tell me what the average weight loss for five months would be? I am hoping I am doing well.

Thanks!!!

I haven't had the band yet but from what I understand it varies between everybody. Its not always going to be the same for every person...If you've lost at all I'd say you were doing good....how much have you lost?

Average is supose to be 2 pounds a week. Some of us lose more, some of us lose less. It is all up to you and how you eat, how much exercise you get and if you are drinking enough water. I hit my 100 pound mark at my 6 month mark, and now at 9 months I am down 130 but it has slowed way down These last 12 pounds are making me work harder to get off, but I knew that would happen so I was prepared for the slow down. Don't sweat it, it will happen and the weight will come off.

I had my surgery August 2011, and have lost more than 65#'s. Dr. says average is 2 pounds per week, but I am doing better than that. I am careful of what I eat, and I try to stay away from carbs like bread, potatoes, etc. I do eat coomplex carbs like oatmeal or cream of wheat sometimes. My may source of food comes from meat - usually chicken, and veggies. I also have a protein drink just about every day for breakfast if I am not eating the cereal.

I try to exercise 5 days a week, riding 30 minutes on a stationary bicycle and I was running/jogging for 15 minutes, but the foot dr cut that out since I developed bone spurs. Now I have to try the elyptical (ugh, I really hate that machine). But the important thing is to exercise and watch what you eat.

Bood luck

I read on here .....first back up (everybody is diffrent)

but what I was going to say was that somebody said take the amount of weight you have lost and divide it by the weeks since your surgery and that will be YOUR average weekly loss....mine is 4 so I lose 4 pounds a week ......I have lost 16-17 pounds in one month...banded on December 1st 2011

I was banded 10/4 and am averaging 1.6lbs a week. I was very discouraged because it seemed like every one on here was losing a ton of weight quickly and I wasn't. Then I had to step back and ask myself if I was really following the 'rules' and the answer is No. Until I give it an honest 100% I can't be upset with 1.6 lbs/week. I had my 2nd fill on Tuesday so I'm hoping I start feeling some restriction but I also know that I have to put more effort into. I actually stopped checking in to this site because it was upsetting to me. I'm in the right spot mentally now and actually lost 3 lbs last week. It's soo very different for everyone...I had to stop comparing myself to others and focus on my self. Congrats to all of you!! Average of 4lbs a week sexymomma...that's amazing!
