Weight Loss And Lack Of Sleep Correlation?
Yes, lack of sleep and weigh or obesity and stalling when losing weight can be tied together: You can site the below link and it takes to others also, there are many clinical trials behind these articles. I am not vouching for every link on this page, of course, but there is alot of information there. Do not forget diabeties, early onset dimensia, increased chanses of inflammation, lack of focus, depression, and children that are not made to develop regular healthy sleep patterns are less likely to do well in school - that is not all, but dang! I's enough! Lol. http://www.healthtree.com/health-news/general-health/study-finds-sleep-deprivation-hinders-healthy-weight-loss/

Feeling Lonely, Shaky, Hungry And Scared
"Am I this addicted to food that I crave it even through all this discomfort? Does this mean I'll never get my body, and my mind, healthy when it comes to food?" You may still need some serious work on your cravings - and if so that is not bad, because you are aware enough to ask - may I point out that you go on to mention how out of control you feel, and that you aren't normally like that - that could be a big factor. Comprehensive reviews of your habits will lead to overcoming them. That is true in anything, not just VGS. Hire a housekeeper stat. No kidding. Get someone in there and clean it thoroughly, get that off your mind. Lean heavily on your resources and reserves. Send the kids off to a relatives house, or have a friend take them for a little while each day. Get out of your house. Go watch a play or even just go sit in a meditation garden or art museum. Be shameless! Ask for the little courtesy hover-round and go zoom around the mall, lol. Confront your doctor and bring backup. A friend adept at being assertive can help formulate your thoughts and push to make your doctor responsive. If you cant or will not then correspond via email, so you will have a paper trail of what he says, and you can address his attitude with him when you feel it is appropriate to do so. I recommend reviewing almost everything within an email it can come in handy! Take a look at my profile info. If I didn't have an email I would have been in a she said type of thing with my first doctors bariatric co-ordinator. All the best to you!

Online Virtual Gastric Sleeve Surgery Support Group
Okay, I have not seen a thread about this, so if I am being repetitive I will apologize in advance. I want to start a support group that meets virtually by cam so the people meeting can feel like they are with a group. Who would be intersted in this? There is a limit to streams and i would like to start the meetings small, just as if you were to walk into a small support group somewhere. Then if the demand exceeds what we are doing I will figure something out. Let me know of you are interested, I will create a group if I get enough likeminded people, and go from there. With the group I think it woud be best to add people who are participating in the chats - so once we met, we would go in and create a group, and add people as they have followed up interest with participation. I am also going to create a Skype support group, wich is slightly differrent as it is more of a one-on-one option, and that group will be open to anyone since the foundation of the group will be to go in and post and see if anyone is available to skype. Lets see how this goes! Lea Ann

Need Some Sleevers To Relate To!
Celebrate makes a great Multivitamin tab and a Calcium supplement and they are actually sort of pleasant. one tab a day with a 60 day supply is 20$ or so, and they have a sublingual weekly b complex 90 for 25$ but that is a very long term supply for the b complex. These are the vitamins i will be taking. I am finding GMC to not have very tasty or very WLS friendly products. I am sorry you are having problems! Do you Skype? I would be glad to talk to you - or anyone here - and of course you can skype with others also! There is no need for anyone to be alone!

Should I Go To The Hospital?
Egads, yogurt and vinegar - double acidic whammy! Dont take anything that could react, like baking soda, etc. Problem with home remedies is that they are not inert, or else they wouldn't be remedies, so you have to ask what the possible reaction could be. Not to be crude but for constipation for awhile you may be best focusing on the, er, other end of the problem. A mild glycerin based enema should work. Hope you feel better soon!

Coughing All The Time Especially When Trying To Talk
Did you wake up with this problem or has it emerged? You may have a nasal drip that is from infection. Talking makes the drainage flow easily. Now here is another issue - nasal drip and a constant cough can easily create inflammation that can make you more prone to both viral and bacterial bronchial infections. Get this resolved soon. Good luck!

Awful Feeling
I have heard (no sleeve yet cannot confirm) that drinking too soon will do that, too.

Going On A Date..what To Eat?
Keep focusing on the really expensive items, ask for the wine and dessert list, and then when you order a chicken ceasar salad they will be so happy they won't ask any questions! If it is going to be a talk and chat dinner, perhaps soup would be a good option. You can take sips all through the dinner. Perhaps this would be a good time to mention the surgery?

Does Anyone With A Sleeve Run?
I am going to try to start running again once I drop at least another 30 lbs - I have a half a knee cap due to a sports injury several years back. I want to do the www.runforyourlives.com for my 1 year surgery gift to myself. It is a 5k that goes through obstacles and you are chased by zombies! I will be following your post. I had hope to be on moderately normal foods within half a year so I was going to focus on food in steady balanced portions and go from there. I had a young lady I discussed fluids for cycling and she said she takes a saline solution before hand. She had cancer and the treatment affected her Water intake somehow. She told me that for her personally the after cycling water was not an issue, it was during. she could drink freely, she just did not get enough at times.

Not Sure If This Is An Nsv Or What?
Lissa, I "liked" your post - you are very brave and I know going through this is very hurtful. My Sister married an alcoholic after dating two alcoholics. They werent back-toback-to back but I can tell you you are much better off filing for a divorce. Reoccurence in alcoholics is high, and the chances of an enabler changing the situation for an alcoholic is slim. I dated an alcoholic for awhile and we were very serious, until they wrapped their graduation present around an oak tree. It may sound horrible but what if they hadn't? I would have probably spent years and years putting up with an escalating situation that could already get bad at times. I would have never met my wonderful Spouse, left the town I really needed to get out of...you are out, and you see it for what it is. Be brave. Be prepared too. Do what you need to to be protected. Get your handgun license if you don't have it yet. Please don't take offense. I didn't say you needed to get a gun, i just said get the license. The license takes longer, and you don't want to be two or three months out from legally carrying one if you decide you need to. This step, from what I observed with people I knew, can be really hard. This is the physical and spiritual representation of your marriage, and you are going to have to separate all of this out. Be really careful, get a lawyer and email me if you ever need to talk.

My bet is they have noticed but they may be afraid to say anything...they may be thinking "alot of weight loss after surgery could be something serious".

Tomorrow Is The Day For My Gastric Sleeve Surgery! Last Minute Tips Or Advice?
in the pre op forum there is a pinned topic - its right in top of the forum - that is a list of what to take to surgery. If you are going into Mexico take sanitary wipes, and I would suggest your own sheets or a t least a couple of unfitted sheets for the hotel. Not to be gross, but I saw a blog that referenced the thought that the sleever thinks she may have brought bedbugs back from MX. She did the traditional everything in a bag for two weeks usually but that time she was so tired she did not. Be prepared to isolate everything you take for 2 weeks or better...hot wash everythign and you suitcase should be in a bag, too. Good luck on your surgery. Don't push yourself and be really careful driving. (((huggs!)))

Celebrate Protien Drinks: Chocolate And Strawberry Reviews
Just finished a trial sample of both the chocolate and the strawberry - the Celebrate samples are only 4 oz. Not alot ot go into depth about either one, medium-thin consistency, mild smell, mediocre taste. I would have to say I am neutral on these...hmmm Sorry! not so much of a review after all... One more thing - you will want to blend these - they did not stir well.

Konvesayshun Wif Da Buhnnies
"Wee Ahnn, ah haf bin tinking - eew shood nawt haf da zurgerhy", my flemmish giant rabbit Cadmiun says to me, as I lay in the floor and pet her and her brother, Antimony. "ah haf to ehgree", says Antimony "whaaf sumzing haffins doe eew?" I pat Cadmium on the head, and touch noses with Antimony "I think I will be okay. I have done alot of studying and I have picked a very good doctor" "i herdz eew whill beh all hurty fer daz" says Cadmium. "eew whill notz beh aybelz tew pay wif uz!" says Antimony, as he jumps on my back. "I will be very sore, and it will be awhile before I can crawl around and stuff, but I will be home and I am gong to have Jonathan make me a really comfortable bed on the floor with the air mattress when it is playtime, so I can still pet you." I reassure Cadmium with a good head scratch. "okays" says Cadmium "gotz strahberrez?" "yes little one, I have some strawberries". Our fleeting conversation is done, and we continue to play. I need to remember to be in the moment through all of this. Thank you friends for reminding me to not lose sight of the little things as I take such a big step. I do not want to miss the wonderful things I have now while waiting for surgery, and then waiting ot lose weight.

Thought My First Entry Would Be Different...
Nicole76 - Thank you! rebecca b - I am sorry your boss is harassing you. Perhaps you could talk to your doctor to issue a note that it is a medical necessity and as time critical as any treatment you would need. Insurance definitions of necessity and what your doctor deems necessary probably disagrees - with a note from your doctor you will also qualify for FMLA if needed - depending on how long you have worked for your company, of course. I am very worried about something happening. My Hubby is a Geophysicist and travels for long periods of time all over the world, so I basically run our household - I have power of attorney and all that. I bought our house when he was in Africa! lol. I am trying to get him familiar with the household accounts again and he is trying! He has advised work he will not even consider traveling until the doctor has cleared me to stage 5 eating and I am feeling well. Losermama - I too feel like I am going to be the one person to not lose an ounce and yet totally follow the plan!

Mind Playing Tricks. Anybody Have Any Regrets After Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
I think the final full out push to do it yourself was a good thing. You know going in this is it. Keep with the personal trainor if you can, I have one - but that is for exercize and she helps me not to push myself too far. The weight (and she agrees) is for me to deal with. She has clients that she has trained for years and never fell out of the 30% BMI's. I think she would like to push the weight issue more, but she just wants you to exercize and keep active and doesn't want to push people away from the gym. For me the weight is not related to my activity levels, except it does limit what my body can endure. Going by what I lift, I should be able to do a pull up at about 180-200 lbs. I want that pull up soooo bad! lol. and YES! I am CrAzY nervous, lol.

All I Could Do Was Cry
Vitamin D is produced with exposure to the sun, but is a fat soluable vitamin and the Vit D produced by the sun is not readily absorbed. A diet consistent in a fat that makes vit d work well is important also...try 4 oz of whole milk, or 8 oz of 1% milk. Vitamin D is important in many genes reproducing correctly, neuromuscular function and development and combating imflammation. Vit. D and Diabetes is often hand-in-hand, and often insufficient sleep is included. Vit. D is a major concern or should be before surgery because the healing process is affected as a whole. Please don't look at this as something that may/may not affect your surgery. Address this now with an endocrinologist and extablish a relationship with a doctor that is a diabeties specialist. Get your A1C tested and your blood glucose level at least 4x a day. These are not fat diseases (well yea but) these are diseases you have now. They might resolve and they might not. I was diagnosed in 2007 and looking back at how I felt and problems healing from sports injuries and brusing and eyesight problems and such I was probably diabetic for at least 5 years. The difference in me now is night and day. I dropped 25 lbs just controling my BG levels. That left me very heavy still, but I was back in to my exercises more, back in to good moods, less stomach pain. I heal better, etc. I will be off my medications as of the morning of my surgery and depending on my readings my doctor thinks I may not need them again. In the meantime I maintain because it feels so much better when my levels are under control. Whew! Off my soapbox. I am just a very strong advocate for diabeties maintenance and education. Good luck with your approval (I have Humana and have a total exclusion to WLS and WLT so I had to pay out of pocket).
