3 Days Post Op And My Body Is Angry!
I was given hydrocodone and I hated the taste but where I had to sip it it kept me from using more than I needed - I never needed the whole dose.

3 Days Post Op And My Body Is Angry!
Sorry, bypassed the replies when I read what they gave you for pain - I would throw away the oxycodone right away and insist on something else - and whatever you do do not let anyone know you have any of that on you or in your home. It can cause breathing problems, too - and horrible constipation. Oxyco is extremely addictive and even if not some people will do anything to get it. Was it a US doctor that prescribed that for you? Beyond that, it seems that you have had some damage to your esophagus and you need to find out what. I recommend you find out if your anest. was who trached you and if not if they were there the whole time observing. Maybe see if an albuterol inhailor would help (if it does it lets you know if it inflammation). A white blood cell count could tell if you have a secondary infection that could be either the cause or partial cause of yor problem. I had surgery once in the spring and it just happened to coincide with oak tree pollen - almost immediatelty I began to have trouble breathing and it took forever for them to realize that it was the trees outside my open window... Good luck and keep us informed of what you find out.

My Nsv Of The Week
That is most awsome. I only wish you could have took a picture of their faces! I have had the luck of an office full of people who have been polite for the most part - I even had a guy in the warehouse that commented I might need to be careful so I won't blow away (I was on top of a tall crate and the wind was blowing). There was even a joke (emabrassing but funny in hindsight) that our company waited till I returned to add a nepotism policy - just to be safe. One of the things I am beginning to notice is how I am treated when no one knows...just normal, I blend in with the crowd.

Anybody Get Taller After Losing?
It would be possible to "get taller" when you have weight you are forced into a harder "c" in your back, and it pulls you down. There is a good chance you are doing some sort of core exercise, and that will help you stand taller also. The thinner you are usually makes you look taller also. If you took a 2"x2" square on a piece of paper, and then a 1"x2" rectangel on another, most will say the rectangle looks taller. I have heard of a slight decompression of the spine associated with large amounts of visceral weight loss, too. I would think if you lost alot in your breast or along your shoulders and back it would do the same. It would be a small amout but that and standing straighter would add at least a little. Soooo many odd little things like this as we progress through our "new me"! I am so glad we have a place to post our concerns and questions. I LOVE VST!!!

Onderland And Just How This Feels...
I was trying to remeber how long it has been since I was in Onderland, and I can say, now that I have thought about it - maybe never in my adult life! I just kept going further back and going "how about this time?" and I would think and be like "nope". Even in my size 12 I was not in Onderland - but back in my 14/16 days I was crazy muscular - so the muscle kept me from being in onderland then too. It feels very odd to realize that - and I don't know why. I would think size would matter more to me right now - and it does matter, baggy clothes bought when they fit are always a feel-good, but Onderland is becoming more to me as I approach it than I ever thought it would.

Soooo Frustrating..lol
I understand, I weighed at my doc's office and I was 212.5 and then I weighed in at work (in the warehouse we have kick-a@@ scales for big metal plates that we bill by the pound, so they are calibrated to the hundreth of an ounce...) soooo i weighed in two days later at 214. I am not going to sweat it and I AM going to keep my weight ONLY by the scales at work. So close to wonderland, and so far away. LOL.

Day 2 - At Home
Kathy Iam wondering why you did not report that nurse, and file a complaint with the hospital. Too many incidents are let go like that, then someone is really neglected or hurt (or abused) and people go "how did they get away with it for so long".

(Re Posted Here) Hi Guys ,new Here :) . Question About Strength
Ditto. I have always been strong (built more like the men in my family than the women - but I am OK with a little loss, because I plan to get it al back! I have been doing yoga for over 20 years, and that has helped sooooo much. Just remember - protiens first! Always! and lay off the fad stuff! regular healthy foods and a good schedule of workout routines will have you pumped back up in no time!

Telling People How Much I've Lost...means Admitting I Had That Much To Lose.
I like this thread but can honestly say I will need to think more about it. I have noticed I am more willing to share with some than others. I did get annoyed when one person did decide to go "wow, you had to have surgery before you could loose any weight." Which was totaly inaccurate but I was like "whatever". She did this at my Mom's wake - some people, go figure...

Esophagus On Fire !
Yes you need to see your doctor - and maybe a second opinion to check and see if they repaired you correctly! Good luck!

Going To The Movies On Full Fluids
I read somewhere a girl bought m&m and just shuffled them around a little - a bit much but some people just don't want people to guess. Going to the movies for my first time this weekend. I am taking a protien drink.

My New Numbers
I will sit down at the end of the day and focus just on that if I have to - even if I only get in an extra 8 oz or so it's better than nothing. Just be very careful to not get too much too quickly - that can hurt. Popscicles (sp?) are very good too. I will let myself have a few bullet-type pops - it feels really good on my tummy, and it count's as fluids. You do best going through the day sip, sip, sipping along, lol.

Think I'm Going Crazy
Talk to your Hubby! Listen to what he says. I have a foodie at home too and he is just wonderful and yes, he misses our food talk - so we still talk. A good cook can find a real challenge in keeping you fed! Help him prep his dinners, discuss how they can be prepped later when you can eat so that you can still share - and have him work on smooties and awesome teas and such for you now. Ask for hand massages and back rubs and foot massages - mine brushes my hair, even though I got it cut short. Not to do the TMI thing, I promise you can still be intimate - promise. You could use a hand in the shower, I am sure Let a few weeks pass, and keep a dream journal. Look in on yourself and make sure your concerns are from what you think they are - I have heard of nightmares and I think it may come from the realization that you have done a very permanent thing, and have more concerns of now having a "comfort layer" gone than you are aware of. Good luck and keep us posted!

6 Weeks Post-Op And Regretting The Surgery
Even though it seems like it must be the sleeve, don't automatically assume that. I know of at least two people who were having bad post-surgery symptoms that it took forever to fix and it was due to the fact that they assumed it was the surgery. In both cases the surgery and stress may have allowed the other conditions to worsen, but they were already there, just overlooked in the excitement/stress of surgery. Have a blood work up again, maybe? If nothing else just check your white blood cell count.

No Precert Required?
Call and ask to speak to a case specialist and ask them to direct you to the part of your policy that says that you don't need any of that, and get your correspondence in writing from there on - also get a regional mamagment clearing stating they will cover your surgery. Even if they somehow manage to be wrong, after all that you could go ahead and probably be able to do a small claims if they come back and say they are wrong. I self-paid, so I am not sure about insurance at all. I am only referencing an article I read recently.

Yeast Infection
I did have a bit of one but it was not internal, and it coincided with my period, which it has rarely in the past. It passed on it's own and I have since had another period and nothing. I wish I would have thought about that to begin with, before the surgery. I could at least had the doc call me in the one day treatment, just in case.

Back After A Long Absence.. :)
I am a month out and I am going to do my best to just not get back to refined sugars at all.
